@@GearsGadgets If you were helping a friend launch his boat into Lake Pleasant, and your wet foot slipped off the brake pedal and hit the gas pedal, the truck would back down the ramp too far. I bought a Ford 5.0 and couldn't be happier. Glad I did!!! Ive never had a GM truck or car that didnt have weird vibrations, shutters, and strange noise. Your always chasing gremlins. Test drove a Ford for first time ever.....smooth as glass and quiet. I drove it home. 80k miles later....still smooth as glass.
MrInzombia cool. I will check it out brother! I also have a video of mine with duel exhaust and flowmaster originals 40s. Also have video proving my 22mpg highway which most refuse to believe because their GM can’t get that running on 4 cylinders
Gears & Gadgets that’s what happened to me. My dad worked at GM for 42 years. It was a sin to drive anything but a GM. I had to slowly get tired of their quirks to make the leap and buy something else
What year? I have a 2011 F-150 with transmission issues. I researched on line and found it's a pretty common problem for F-150's. Hard and erratic shifts. I'm curious that yours is smooth, what year is it and was it involved in the tranny recall?
I love the fact that you took the time out of your day to personally answer every comment. You dont see that ever. Thanks for your video man. Happy New year !
Thanks for noticing. I spend a ton of time in the comments because I feel it someone spends time to type out a comment after consuming my content, I kind of owe it to them to reply. Now as the channel gets larger it gets far more difficult but as of today I am proud to say (after I get done replying today) I have still responded to 100% of my comments. Thanks for the appreciation.
Thankyou for your video on the "rumble shaking" issues ,my 2014 GMC sierra, did not start until 114,000 miles. Have spent $1176 and $2877 (just today).....still not like it was when i first bought it...... I have a new cat converter on order ,that is part of the $2877.....
NEVER, ABSOLUTELY NEVER will I buy a Chevrolet vehicle. So many problems with them. My 05 Silverado has transmission issues, 4wd is really a piece of junk, and the rear end went out. Also had a Camaro with transmission issues in High School a person side swiped me and my car got totaled. Best thing that ever happened.
GM had my truck in shop over 3 months replaced driveshaft, new rear end, all 4 new springs and shocks, new rear calipers two new tires, multiple RFB and alignments. Finally they said it is a "Normal characteristic of a 2wd long bed truck". I later replaced all wheels and tires with aftermarket as well as a aftermarket driveshaft because the new one GM installed had .047 run-out at the rear and .024 at the front. I also tried 2 degree axle shims which helped reduce it for a while but is back to day one now. Truck had less than 6k miles when it went into shop.
Thanks for the info. I love when they try a bunch of things, then when they can't fix it just say.... Oh it's normal. If it was normal, what were you trying to fix to begin with. Its insanity.
I have a 2018 Silverado, 6.2 litre with 8 spd transmission purchased in Dec 2018....just started the shudder 2 weeks ago....feels like you’re driving over rumble strips....took it to dealer last week where they flushed and filled the transmission with the Mobil 1 blue label synthetic fluid....no shudder since but time will tell....keeping fingers crossed....drive safe everyone
That is good to hear, oddly enough the vibration also exists in the 6 spd but they dont seem to recommend the Mobil 1 Blue Label fluid in those transmissions. Just such a strange problem.
Scott S I bought a gmc 2015 Denali Monday - it’s back at the dealership. Felt like it was about to shake my head off on the interstate. Took it back and they told me about the transmission fluid deal . I’ve been reading and you tubing everything I can find on it . I have the 6.2 - 8 speed with 115k miles . Hope it fixes it
my shudder was never really bad but very noticeable….when it first started, i thought it was just the road causing it, but when it kept happening, i knew something was wrong…i read about someone else getting the transmission fluid changed and saw all the videos and i went to my dealership about it…i know the service manager personally and she took care of me…she mentioned that 7/10 that have the fluid changed, don’t seem to have any further problems…and just an fyi…i’m in Canada…hopefully you get it fixed permanently !!!…good luck
Such an easy fix. Too a two piece conversion with a solid carrier bearing and a sturdy cross member. All has to be prefabbed out. Use sturdy material and bolt it in. 2-3 hour job if you have everything on hand.
Was a GM guy all my life I brought a 2012 GMC Denali hd and 60 Grand and 5 years later with 40 thousand miles it falling apart and rust covered the whole bottom of the truck ,,fast forward got rid of rust bucket and brought a trunda at least Toyota will stand by their products
I had a torque converter failure at 103,000kms which started out as a shake upon acceleration and got worse and worse, good thing it was covered under warranty (2017 silverado 1500 LT)
Get a Custom Tune!!! I had a 2015 Sierra SLT Z71 Crew Cab with similar issues and local dealers all told me the same thing. GM has a sorry ass tune on these trucks to meet certain mpg ratings. A custom tune did the trick for my truck. Although it voided about 4 months of my remains warranty it was night and day. Mine had the shakes bad and it would hesitate when I would hit the accelerator. Almost like it was thinking about what it needed to do. Don’t have that problem with my new F250 Super Duty diesel truck
I have a 2015 1500 silverado with 76k miles. The shake has been going on for about 25k miles and after new wheels, tires, and countless appointments I finally had a mechanic hook up a sensor to determine that the torque convertor pressure valve was failing causing my truck to shudder at 70 mph.
2018 z71 Silverado, 3rd time at dealer, I had road force balance, shake 30'40, 60-74.. 2nd time no shake at 30-40 but high speed exists, 3rd time another road force and no vibration at highway, get them at 30-40.. it's starting to get old, 6k miles on truck. Last time at dealer, my truck smelled like Italian sub for days.. I don't want to ho back.
There is a video out there showing a rear axle rotating, with the rim and rotor off, while on Jack stands. The axle end, where the wheel studs are mounted, can clearly be seen to have a major out of round run out. Assuming the studs are perfectly centered around the center of the axle shaft, the extreme amount of out of round would definitely cause an out of balance situation. Pulling a rim, unbolting the brake caliper, and knocking the rotor off is an easy job. If you can visually see an out of round axle end, you have found your problem. Solution, pull both shafts, take them to a machine shop and have them machine the outer circumference of the axle stud plate to round. Would make an interesting video to at least visually check it. My 07 vibrates, but even more severely, every time I have mud, ice or snow in the rim. It's in a rotating mass, wheel and rim good, drive shaft and u joints good, this is the only other option. The front shafts if one has a 4 wheel drive shouldn't do that because they are just a splined shaft. Thoughts?
I've been listening to you for awhile about your situation and I had the same situation with an 06 Tahoe and I changed everything still the same problem and ended up swapping out the Flex plate and that fixed it it was last thing on my list I really didn't want to do it and it makes sense why GM doesn't want to fix it for all their customers because they would have to admit that it is an OEM part that they made
I have an 08 f-150 triton and a 2019 f-450. I have never had a single issue with my ford. I put 100,000 miles on the 08 with absolutely zero issues. My F-450 is an absolute beast. Get a Ford gents
I haven never been a Ford design fan, but I don’t hate on them. If I were to go with any new truck and $$$ wasn’t an issue, It would hands down be a Ram 2500.
Fair enough. I love when people have an old truck they love. I wish I was in the same boat with this GMC because I think design wise they are some of the nicest trucks on the road.
I've had a 2014 Chevy Silverado for 2 years has a 123000 never had a shake or any problems. This is my forth gm product an I never had a shaking problem.
BC Canada, 2017 Silverado 5.3L LTZ realtree edition, so far needed 2 fuel injectors, engine software update, catalytic converter, 2 o2 sensors, new rad, vacuum pump, new rear sliding window and wiring, new fog lights, service trailer brakes warning keeps popping up ever since they did the vaccuum pump, still smelling fuel under hood, so far I have 60320km I bought it when it had 18km on it, truck goes in next week to see if they can figure out the fuel smell. It had to go in twice before they changed the vacuum pump to fix the braking problem. I haven't had any shakes yet, I like this truck but honestly its turning out to be a fuckin , 5.3 seems pretty gutless
Man I just brought a 2016 for my bday dude and its being shaking from the first day. This is so sad, I cant believe this is happening, at least you got something bro. They are shitting on everyone who has a chevy right now and this is my first time buying an American made vehicle, its a lot of videos about this, how did I miss this. This is bad I dont know what to do. Dam man
Chevy put new plastic interior and a half a paint job on one of my trucks; absolute nightmare. It also had what chevy lovingly referred to as the “ Classic 4.3 liter shake”. I do not lie.
Vehicle shaking can be caused by like 20 different things. Slapping new tires and drive shafts seems pretty stupid. I would have the truck up on lift and actually have it running in gear and see what the hell is going on under the truck. Bad axles and wheels and tires are pretty obvious as well as drive shafts when you are under the truck seeing everything moving. bad motor mounts are easy to tell as well.... I have also heard that fluid in the trans is an issue, and that could be fixed with a simple flush. My 2011 silverado with over 200k miles does not shake at all, and drives smooth as silk on good roads (MN so not many of those).
Like you said it could be 20 different things. I wouldn’t recommend getting a truck on a lift and taking it up to 70 mph where the vibration lives to look around underneath. Wheels were checked by the dealer, one replaced for being out of spec, vibration stayed. Driveshaft and axels were replaced by me which helped a lot but it still exists a little. Fluid change is recommended in the 8 speed but they don’t call it out for the 6 speed, matter of fact they say not to use that fluid with the 6 speed.
I have a 2014 Sierra that has done the same thing and gotten worse over the years. I do have my own shop and replaced drive shafts 3 sets of tires and 2 sets of Factory rims. None of that fixed the problem. Lately I have been looking at the rear axle with help and direction of some other videos. I have found that the rear axles are out of round. It is so bad that you can see it with the naked eye. Problem Solved. Parts are about $600.00.
Am surprised this is still going on. Had a 2001 chevy 2500 van that had the chevy shake at 27000 miles . Took it to the dealership who could not figure it out. Stayed at the dealership for 3 months even brought out an engineer from Detroit to look at it. Couldnt fix it! I just drove it like that untill the engine died at almost 300000 miles in 2010. That was my last chevy though. I salivate at the sight of the 2020 chevy silverado but then i remember all the quality issues with electric, interior materials, fuel pumps and i hold on tighter to my 2106 toyota tacoma steering! Its sad that they cant fix the same issues for 15 years. Maybe they should bring in the Japanese to improve quality control.
Check rear axle end plates where wheel studs are mounted for out of round. It's in rotating mass! Rims and tires clean and balanced, driveshaft and u joints good, this is your only other option. In theory, an out of balance torque converter could vibrate too, but that would change with engine rpm, not road speed. Good luck!
Well. .my chrvy shake ended up being a bad lower control arm. ..it would start around 70 n steady shake. . ..intalled new lower control arm n bam ..no more shake ..just the regular vibrations ..but not the bad wobble shake that u could feel everywhere
I wonder if the high milage tires say 60,000 thar ride rougher and last longer are causing the vibration. I never had any problems with my 40,000 mile tires. Hmm.
Unsure if this is a trans issue. But I’ve heard issues with 20” tires and the radials causing vibration. 18” are the better option to avoid shake from the wheele.
I've been looking at seversl videos and it seems on older versions the universal joints have failed. Another thought on newer teen versions they use plastic rear main seals instead of metal. 🤔
It might be your drive shaft. Does your truck have the one piece aluminum drive shaft? If so, others have replaced theirs with a steel shaft and that solved the problem.
I have a 2015 Sierra all terrain. Love the truck, but started shaking around 140000kms. I've replaced a bunch of thing chasing this (driveshaft, tires , rotors, tranny flush...) I'm getting no where. It's awesome that you got a settlement from GM, I really hope that that starts something, like a recall, for the rest of us. Do you still have the truck? Is it still shaking? Have you replaced anything else to resolve the shake? Have you heard from anyone that has fixed this? Thx in advance!
I had a 2017 that felt like you were going over a rumble strip during shifts from 1st to 2nd,it only had 8500 miles on it.Lucky for me I traded it and broke even.Trucks are GMs bread and butter,if they fail GM will fail once again and the taxpayers will be on the hook again.
Got a used 2016 chevy 54k miles it shakes, axle clunks when going over bumps and turning corners. Had springs, replaced and new tires and balancing wish I kept my 2004 silverado.😭
This happened to me and the they replaced the transmission two times and then my drive shaft disconnected on the highway around 90mph and the dealer refused to work on it saying I shouldn’t be drive that fast like wtf the driveshaft shouldn’t be falling off the truck by the way I bought the truck new 2015 GMC Sierra sle and dealer refuses to work on it love the truck just can’t believe this happened! I took it to a local shop and they said the driveshaft was bad and got a new one my truck drives no problem dealers are the worst
My 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 doesn’t vibrate, but I noticed sometimes upon acceleration it has this sort of jerking motion and I can’t figure out what that is. I wonder if this is connected ? I have approximately 28,000 miles, and I’m rolling up on the 3 year mark in about a month and a half.
@@GearsGadgets He is talking about Scotty Kilmer on TH-cam. He is a mechanic with 52 years of experience and he says to stay away from RAM trucks and GM vehicles. I own a 2015 Silverado, 4X4, double cab, with the 5.3 V8. It has been a good truck so far with no shakes. I have 54,000 miles on the truck.
They paid you cause the lawyers would have costed a whole lot more and bad publicity. Sure, they have lawyers that are already on the payroll. Doesn't mean they don't charge xtra for litigation. Besides that the lawyers probably told them they would lose. Can't remember watching other video if you did the torque converter and fuild change. Anyhow, drive shaft seems to remedy your issue for the most part.
I did the same thing , I was able to get GM to give me 10,000 gran an I took an traded it for a ford f250 an not one problem, I will never own another GM
It should be taken as a warning that GM dedicates a large section of the owners manual to legal disclaimers and arbitration (just in case). I have 21 canyon that shakes like a shitting dog ( bought it with 10 miles on it, dealer said it’s the aggressive knobby tires that they put on it ) so I put touring tires on, same problem !! Zero dealer support !! Fords no better (from experience), Dodge SSDD, Yota’s have their problems.
I have a 2013 LTZ 4x4, 6.2L, 8sp trans, Silverado extened cab. Bought it a year ago. I see alot of referances to the 2014-18s vibration issues, but nothing encompassing 2013s. Are these slightly earlyer models known to have the same vibration problems? Mine shakes horribly. Most obvious from 60mph and up. Water in bottle on console shakes just like in your video #3 I had all the usual things done: driveshafts inspected/rebalanced, u-joints replaced, new tires, new wheels, new rotors, new calipers, new shocks... Also a suggestion: have you tried putting weight in the back? I recently made a dump run with about 250lbs in the bed, truck seemed notably smoother vibration wise. So...pinion angle maybe?
@@GearsGadgets yeah, figure it could just be the load dampened/hid the vibration. Been doing allot of research and it seems many have had great luck with replacing the drive shaft with a heavy duty one. I understand the factory tolerances for the driveshaft can be a bit sloppy and the factory aluminum one is very long and thin walled. Even a minor failure in the drive shaft could cause the vibration. So now, getting a HD, high quality driveshaft is on my short list. Prob be a couple months, but will post results....if any. As a side, I did have both my driveshafts checked/rebalanced last year. Did not help though.
I have a suggestion that you didn’t refer to. Take your vehicle to Carmax and sell it. I appreciate your ethical position. However, even Carmax employees would or at the least “should” know about his particular issue. Just my two cents.
Hey so can you possibly share what attorney it is that helped get GM to be more 'cooperative'? I am experiencing the same issues and would like to figure something out.
@@GearsGadgets Thanks for getting back to me. I have been trying to get in contact with one that is listed under the class action lawsuits but they NEVER return my calls. I guess they are too busy working on the class action and probably have a large volume of calls already. It is pretty shitty to be honest, but what can you expect from attorneys?
Take the noney.get 4 new tires....and a ( brand new drive shaft ) i had the drive shaft problem 2 times on an older car and truck..one time was missing a weight on the drive shaft and 1 time missing clip on drivehaft universal..also 1 time i had water in a tire..all made a shake about 80 90 klm...canadian not in miles per hour.
My father just got a 2018 GMC truck with 35000 miles on it and it shakes took it to dealer and they said it was the fluid so they did a flush but I have herd it tears the torque converter up what should my father do
Oh man, I don’t know what to tell you because from what I have researched, everyone has completely different answers with lucky varying widely. I would hate to steer someone in the wrong direction and cost a boat load of money based on my unqualified recommendation.
Has anyone had theirs begin to shake? I bought mine with 37k miles and now has 43k and now I have this shake. Hoping these other pickups have always shook 😅
Hmm that’s interesting. I haven’t heard of that but I’m guessing a lot of used truck sellers are doing their best effort at bandaiding these trucks to move them. This is what happens when issues go without recalls, all the vibrators are going to be hitting the used car market now.
i have a 2018 Silverado....6.2 litre with the 8 spd tranny....this summer i got the vibration....GM changed the transmission fluid with the Mobil 1 “blue” bottle synthetic transmission fluid and all has been fine since....keeping fingers crossed
@@peterpizzurro no. It's a torque converter clutch. GM issed a bulletin just a month or so ago on this issue. It has to do with the trans fluid being too hygroscopic (moisture absorbing) and becoming contaminated. The torque converter clutch slippage is where this problem typically shows up first. Giving the driver what they feel as a shake or shudder. Dealers are to flush the trans with a new special type on fluid. However, torque converters are very difficult to get all the fluid out of, so a replacement might be necessary.
Bulletin (Preliminary information ) # 18-NA-355 Published/Updated July 2019 Can't share a link because its from GM service info and you must have a subscription to access it. Give it a google search, you should find something.
just bought a 2017 gmc dierrs z71 4x4 sle with 23,000 miles.. did not know about this issue.. but i have noticed that it shifts hard sometimes.. nit all the time but mostly when cold.. also i get a small vibration when driving along at like 50mph and just above 2500 rpm, BUT it only happened twice in a few months.. and the vibration goes away right when u let off the gas.. just a small vibration, very quick and minut vibration... u think this is my issue.. or is it only in the 8speed auto trans?... thanks
Hi, out of the subject... what type of dash cam did you use at the time of the video? and what do you recommend now? looking for one that would do the same. thanks.
I had the same thing with my truck shaking. I bought a 2014 Silverado and within a few days of purchasing i noticed the shake and went back and they tried to tell me it was the transmission that needed to be broke in... they had a few other rediculous excuses. I filed a claim and complaint with BBB. Nothing came of this and i was working so much it was hard to find time to battle these pricks. That trucks life ended shortly after when a texting woman almost killed me because she ran a red light going 60mph clipped a car which sent her my way at the far left lane sitting at a red light... she totaled my truck and 2 others, 5 vehicles in all! So that's how that end4ed. But GM sold some faulty as$ trucks from what I understand, 2014-15! Damn shame!
Hope you weren't injured in that accident. It's really sad but my wife and I have joked about an accident (with no injury) being the best financial way out of this mess. Its truly a shame that a manufacturer would have a customer wishing to get t-boned to get out of their vehicle.
2019 Chevy Silverado 1500, 6 speed Auto, at 7,000 miles hesitation, gears hunting and nasty vibration from the floor of truck. Took it for a checkup, as GM dealer paperwork states “ torque converter falling apart”, so I got a new torque converter, fluid flush, and all that good stuff, truck still vibrating, took it 3 more times, balanced tires, road force balanced, 2 new sets of tires, “rear brakes crystallized” causing the issue, as per GM dealer, until I sneaked under the truck at a Firestone place and decided to ask the manager if they could Check why the truck shakes at high speed, turns out the shaft vibrates like a MF, but GM dealer can’t figure out what’s going on... I’m ready to get rid of this piece of garbage for use of better language.,,,
The vibration is likely play in the gas pedal, search google for the paint stick fix, I did it to my truck and it was a big difference. Aside from that, the rest of the truck is just garbage in my opinion.
@@GearsGadgets thanks for the reply, I’m working on having the drive shaft balance tested, and I will take it from there. I can tell you this freaking vibration is annoying as hell, maybe a feature not disclosed on the window sticker... “coffee shaker feature” When you drive 4+ hours daily to/from work is even worse. After GM offered you the settlement, you still had to Make payments for the truck ? Just wondering as I will def go this route and make GM accountable for their poor engineering.
Well at least you got some sort of compensation. You said you currently have 32K miles? Does the settlement negate warranty claims going forward? ie.. Do you still have the remaining B to B warranty to 36K? Powertrain to 60K?
You would think they could get it straight, they had this problem for like 5 or 6 years, this is pathetic, their will not be any more GM junk in my drive way
The fluid flush IS on the agenda, problem is there are a dozens of different $5-600 fixes that people float around and if you just start throwing darts at the random vibration fixes you end up spending $14,000 in hopes you might have found a fix, if you don’t hit the bullseye, you now have a $40,000 truck that you have $55,000 into and are now even more upside down than the day you started. OR you could wait until the manufacturer does the responsible thing, issues a recall, and spend $0 which most would argue would be the right way.
I don't know, but I don't have that issue with my 2018 Silverado, rides like a caddy to me 70mph 75mph 80mph nope ,no problems here .. hmm could it be that I don't have off road tires.
“Life does not stop and start at your convenience” - Walter Sobchak You click on a video that says it’s 8 minutes long then get mad that it took 8 minutes. 🤦🏼♂️. I know I hate when I turn on a football game and they don’t show me the score until the end... who has time for that? Also not lost on me that your time is apparently incredibly valuable but you had time to type out some nonsense.
So I bought the truck when it was one of the last 2015’s on the lot. When I took it for a test drive, I got up on the highway and felt a tiny little vibration and the salesman said “This truck has sat in the lot for months and the tires are probably flat spotted”. Me knowing enough about cars and understanding that to be possible, I took that as reasonable and not scary enough reason NOT to buy a vehicle. The other thought was... well the truck is under warranty so they would have to swap tires if they were permanently damaged. I am typically a jerk who trusts nobody but in this moment, it made sense, I trusted the brand, and had a warranty to fall back on. Every one of those “safeties” fell through and I learned a lesson. Don’t ever trust anyone ever which is typically how I roll anyway. Really disappointed in GM on this one.
I wouldn’t sell it to anyone privately because I wouldn’t ever want to put it on someone else. I will trade it in and let a dealership send it to auction and then the market can adjust its value appropriately.
Taking my 2016 Silverado in tomorrow. Vibration existed, but I was swapping out the rims and tires anyway, so I didn't address it then. Over the last year that I have had the truck, it's been getting apparently worse. Happens between 70 and 80 mph. Been to the GM forum(member) and saw the almost 800 page post on this very issue with solutions ranging from driveshafts being our of round, torque converters being flushed (TSB www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=198437). I hope they recognize it and I don't have to go through the same months of long drawn out process. I spoke to GM, got a case number and a specialist assisting me with the dealer service department.
Just make sure every service appointment is accurately documented in your service logs. Every time you bring it in, make sure they notated that you brought it in for the vibration, my dealer liked to get cute and change descriptions of the service, its a secret way they can say later that you weren't coming in for the same problem every time. Keep records of EVERYTHING. My experience was that they acted as if they wanted to help until you keep coming back and then they get annoyed and make up excuses as to what the problem is and force you to go away. The fight gets tough and they start treating you like an infant who just isn't smart enough to understand vehicles. They like to act like this is normal. Fight the good fight my friend!!!... Thanks for watching!!
So hypothetically a car manufacturer should be allowed to sell lemons and if the customer isn’t clairvoyant enough to research incredibly specific problems, the customer should be financially responsible for it. Seems totally reasonable.
I own a 99 ford explorer 5.0 rust bucket with 240,000 miles, no shakes or shudders. Runs strong and smooth without a 50k price tag. Only paid 700 bucks for it 3 years ago and ive only changed the oil in it and the spark plugs! I guess GM is building cow poop on wheels! 😆
Its really truck by truck. Some have, it some not. Not all of a certain year or cab size, or trim have the problem. However regular cabs seem to be the worst. Even though I seen a driveshaft shop fix most of them on 2wd. With a custom 2 piece drive shaft.
I usually do not get involved in stuff like this. The problem with the internet is anyone can be anything they want to be. It does not matter whether it is German, Japanese or American they have all had their fair share of class action lawsuits. It is happening more now than ever before. Toyota and Honda are definitely not exempt from that list either. I personally think Toyota's are a 'safe bet'. Have always liked their stuff and liked how they have refused to conform to standards that others have created. Having that said, they can still and have been known to have their own set of issues.
They are ALL junk. They all have their problems. I see it everyday (dealership technician.) In fact we see more Rams, than anyother come in on the hook (roll back.) I agree quality is gone. Yes its all hidden in that beautiful paint and leather, but underneath.....wow. These companies do NOT build vechicles anymore, they assemble them. Its all outsourced, profits are #1 goal.
lol the new Ford Ecoboosts are fuckin' trash. I was about to pick one up and when i went to 2 local dealers they each had around 4 getting new engines due to the turbo's going to shit and taking the engine with them. 2 guys i work with have had engine replacements before 120k miles....
You know it's bad when a car manufacturer don't want their own vehicle back.
Charles Hill lol.

Interesting, Appreciate the comment Jesse.
That's why I bought a ford f150 we have a fleet all have 300 400k miles no issues except wear n tear.
Fair enough (Sorry for the late reply, trying to catch up on old comments I missed)
No 5.4 3v im sure unless they are all on 2nd or 3rd motor
Jay G that’s rt 👍🏽.. I just bought a 14 F150 5.0 I love it ...
Love my 08 f150 it’s a beast
Ford is trash 🗑 death wobble is a scary feeling
Has the shudder came back Scott s?
no
Scott S I bought a gmc 2015 Denali Monday - it’s back at the dealership.
I agree Chris. Thanks for the comment.
And again you eat fish heads and rice
I’m in Arizona and having the same issue except now my truck will stop in it’s tracks trying to go out of 1st gear into second
This just motivates me to take care of my 13 Yukon XL Denali. 234k+ and still running strong
WOW man 234K is legit.... Great maintenance my friend!!
I had a torque converter failure at 103,000kms which started out as a shake upon acceleration and got worse and worse, good thing it was covered under warranty (2017 silverado 1500 LT)
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jaime Acevedo, I appreciate it!!!
Did you get it fixed and that stop the shaking?
2018 z71 Silverado, 3rd time at dealer, I had road force balance, shake 30'40, 60-74.. 2nd time no shake at 30-40 but high speed exists, 3rd time another road force and no vibration at highway, get them at 30-40.. it's starting to get old, 6k miles on truck. Last time at dealer, my truck smelled like Italian sub for days.. I don't want to ho back.
Sorry for the super late reply Wyatt Sprague. I appreciate that you stopped by the channel and apologize for not responding WAY sooner.
Thoughts?
I replaced the rear axles and they didnt appear out of round but since we had it all apart we just did it.
I've been listening to you for awhile about your situation and I had the same situation with an 06 Tahoe and I changed everything still the same problem and ended up swapping out the Flex plate and that fixed it it was last thing on my list I really didn't want to do it and it makes sense why GM doesn't want to fix it for all their customers because they would have to admit that it is an OEM part that they made
Interesting. I will have to investigate. Thanks.
Flex plate? Is that a transmission part?
Gears & Gadgets l
I have an 08 f-150 triton and a 2019 f-450. I have never had a single issue with my ford. I put 100,000 miles on the 08 with absolutely zero issues. My F-450 is an absolute beast. Get a Ford gents
I haven never been a Ford design fan, but I don’t hate on them. If I were to go with any new truck and $$$ wasn’t an issue, It would hands down be a Ram 2500.
I love my 06 silverado. Its perfect. I would not trade it for a brand new one.
It isn't every truck, but it is a lot of them from what I gather with everyone reaching out in the comments.
You went through all that for 13K. They got you!
Yes they did
Man I just brought a 2016 for my bday dude and its being shaking from the first day.
REALLY?!?!?! That is crazy.
What rear axle did you go with.
@@GearsGadgets 3.42 9.5 inch the same that was in it. Got it from the GMC store
Me too!!
Going through the exact same thing right now!!!!! Hopefully the outcome is as good as yours!
It is a LOOOOOONNNNGG road. Good luck!! Document EVERYTHING!!
Thats interesting. That is a new one that I haven't heard before.
I wonder if the high milage tires say 60,000 thar ride rougher and last longer are causing the vibration.
I never had any problems with my 40,000 mile tires. Hmm.
I have had several different tires on it over 80,000 miles and they all do the same.
Is there a class action lawsuit for this issue yet? I have a 2016 GMC Sierra, 32k miles, & the vibration is getting worse each day.
I hear of one with 8spd but not 6spd. Just a bunch of chaos around this whole thing.
Yes there is I actually am trying to become a part of the suit. Try classaction.org
🤔
Interesting
My 09 silverado still running strong with 268k miles.
Engine 5.3
Wow man. I do love the 5.3
It might be your drive shaft. Does your truck have the one piece aluminum drive shaft? If so, others have replaced theirs with a steel shaft and that solved the problem.
I did a video on that. th-cam.com/video/QCXNBdj983o/w-d-xo.html
One piece. Since converted to a heavier duty (Thicker wall) one piece that helped a LOT.
The steel drive shaft didn’t fix my 2014 Sierra
I got rid of the POS 17 I had it had a bad transmission shutter, thats the last GM I will ever buy
Thanks for the info. I hear a lot of similar comments.
I'm having this same issue and received the same response from the dealership and GM.
Yeah they like to blow people off.
Mine was a bad transmission, it the same on a lot of the hp transmission, 2014/2019
I also have a 15 Sierra All terrain. I'm at my Wit's end did you resolve anything with your truck?
I had a 2017 that felt like you were going over a rumble strip during shifts from 1st to 2nd,it only had 8500 miles on it.Lucky for me I traded it and broke even.Trucks are GMs bread and butter,if they fail GM will fail once again and the taxpayers will be on the hook again.
Go get it tuned and turn off AFM vibrations been gone now for 6mo in my 2015 camaro and ive had 4 customer trucks done with positive feedback
I don’t notice the afm making any difference at all. It’s speed related but no difference with afm active or inactive.
They say the lifters are meant to go bad at around 40k miles because of the AFM
I have a 2019 Silverado 8 speed and it vibrates like hell.
My 17 8 spd vibrates and disabling afm doesnt do anything for it.
tgering95 EMAW you solve it?
Got a used 2016 chevy 54k miles it shakes, axle clunks when going over bumps and turning corners. Had springs, replaced and new tires and balancing wish I kept my 2004 silverado.😭
Sorry to hear that. I understand the pain.
Yeah I agree, my dealer experience was pretty bad and my GM experience was equally as bad. Love the truck, HATE the service from everyone involved.
How much did you come out of pocket for the new drive shaft?
John Garren $ 900
Gears & Gadgets what dealer? I’m going through the same thing here in the valley.
Doesn’t sound connected.
All these people who bought these cars didn't listen to a word that Scott said. just sad. :)
Who is Scott?
Driveshaft took out about 90%. Torque converter and fluid change is on the agenda.
so it wasn't resolved u still got a shakey ass truck.i have the same problem + my paint is peeling.
That's why I sold my Silverado and bought a Ford lol
lol Martin Melendez
I sold F150 and bought a Tundra...lol
I did the same thing , I was able to get GM to give me 10,000 gran an I took an traded it for a ford f250 an not one problem, I will never own another GM
I sold mine and now I got a dead wobble ( ford )
You got lucky i only 7500.00
got 10,500.00 but 3k went to the lawyer.
Well done!
At least you got something. congrats.
THE TRANSMISSION SHAKE OR SUTTER CAN BE FIXED BY SIMPLY PUTTING A DIFFERENT TYPE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID! It fixed mine
The TSB’s for the transmission fluid dont cover the 6spd and matter of fact I’ve seen things that say NOT to use it in the 6spd.
OK, so when you buy a G.M. vehicle, you need to keep an attorney on waivers?,,,LOL.
Something like that
Nope just don’t buy an 8 speed auto
Seems like a bunch of GM haters lol
I had the same problem with the 6 speed
It should be taken as a warning that GM dedicates a large section of the owners manual to legal disclaimers and arbitration (just in case).
I have 21 canyon that shakes like a shitting dog ( bought it with 10 miles on it, dealer said it’s the aggressive knobby tires that they put on it ) so I put touring tires on, same problem !! Zero dealer support !!
Fords no better (from experience), Dodge SSDD, Yota’s have their problems.
Yeah I don't accept that dealer response.
Water in bottle on console shakes just like in your video #3
I had all the usual things done: driveshafts inspected/rebalanced, u-joints replaced, new tires, new wheels, new rotors, new calipers, new shocks...
Also a suggestion: have you tried putting weight in the back? I recently made a dump run with about 250lbs in the bed, truck seemed notably smoother vibration wise. So...pinion angle maybe?
I didnt notice any change with weight in the back or pulling a trailer
Wow, interesting. I'm assuming you tried numerous different 'repairs' to no avail? I will watch earlier episodes. Thanks for posting.
I did. I have a new video on this coming out this week.
So is your vehicle a lemon ?
+Edgar H252 I mean..... My attorney was an attorney that specialized in lemon law.
I have a suggestion that you didn’t refer to. Take your vehicle to Carmax and sell it. I appreciate your ethical position. However, even Carmax employees would or at the least “should” know about his particular issue. Just my two cents.
Carmax is a rip off.
Carmax sucks

Driveshaft fixed about 90% of it, still get some vibration though.

Yep just bought one 4 months ago😭
My 2018 Silverado has the same problem
I am very sorry to hear that. I hate getting comments like this but they are frequent and it always makes me feel bad.
My 2018 Sierra Denali has the same issues. GM making up a new story each time I take the truck in to fix the problem.

@@Scott_MS hows it been so far
It's Torque converter clutch shudder. I'd take that money and go to a trans shop and have the torque converter replaced.
Or driveshaft. Or flexplate. Or sway bar links. Or rear pinion gears. Or body mounts. Or........../.

My 2016 Silverado I just bought used does it is so pissed it vibrates a ton on the highway
Get that thing back to the dealer immediately.
What is causing the chevy shake?
I still have no clue
Hopefully you changed brands?
Just don't buy another GM
“coffee shaker feature”
When you drive 4+ hours daily to/from work is even worse. After GM offered you the settlement, you still had to
Make payments for the truck ?
Just wondering as I will def go this route and make GM accountable for their poor engineering.
Is this truck 1 of them 6 speed transmission trucks that are also causing alot of vibration problems ?
Thomas Gadsby 8 speed
Yes 6 speed in the 2015’s. The 8 speeds get a lot of the attention because after 2015 it was the tranny that went into all of the trucks from 16-19.

It was a Chevy shake shit plastic parts!
You would think they could get it straight, they had this problem for like 5 or 6 years, this is pathetic, their will not be any more GM junk in my drive way
True.
More than likely allot needs is a new torque converter and flush with new fluid. Maybe $5 - $600. Why not just fix it?
Tires haven't changed anything. Tried 2 different brands and had a couple replaced under warranty when the dealer was initially trying to fix it.
I wish you'd get the point, geez guy.

You click on a video that says it’s 8 minutes long then get mad that it took 8 minutes. 🤦🏼♂️. I know I hate when I turn on a football game and they don’t show me the score until the end... who has time for that? Also not lost on me that your time is apparently incredibly valuable but you had time to type out some nonsense.
Gears & Gadgets sorry bud football game analogy doesn’t exactly work here
Mind boggling. It’s a nice truck! Did you not notice it at the test drive?
Its obviously not a nice truck
Gears & Gadgets so what brand are you getting now
How much do you want for it?
I wouldn’t sell it to anyone privately because I wouldn’t ever want to put it on someone else. I will trade it in and let a dealership send it to auction and then the market can adjust its value appropriately.
Just dump the thing, who cares about the dealer or next person, not your problem.
I would trade it to a dealer.. They make these trucks with issues everyday an people buy them.. Everyone needs to do there own research..
I agree J S. Thanks for the comment.
I rather have the Chevy shake then the ford and ram death wobble
I would rather not have any and have manufacturers held responsible for any defective products they might sell.
My truck to 😩
Ugh that’s brutal. Sorry to hear that.
Did they fix this on the 2019 Model Trans?
I am not sure.
No
It doesn’t shake but it still jerks on 3rd gear I had a 2019 loaner for 2 weeks while my 17 was getting a torque converter replaced for vibrations.
Hotwheel66 I’ve got the 2019 new body with the 8 speed and it’s the smoothest transmission I’ve ever felt. Only 2600 miles on it but so far so good.
Its really truck by truck. Some have, it some not. Not all of a certain year or cab size, or trim have the problem. However regular cabs seem to be the worst. Even though I seen a driveshaft shop fix most of them on 2wd. With a custom 2 piece drive shaft.
I can hear nois in background u should park the car in front of gm door and block it 😂
Lol that could get me arrested.
More American made crap been a mechanic for thirty years and if I just worked on Toyota's or Honda's I'd have nothing to do all day.
I agree hoss glover. Thanks for the comment.
Watch all some interesting stuff man
Thank you
Sad day in America Chevy truck are shit now. Guess I will buy a 1794 edition Tundra.
I agree Mr. B. Thanks for the comment.
Really the GM downfall started when they switched to that dexcool antifreeze.
Yunk !!
lol
You’d need 20 or 25k compensation to sell it and be able to go get a new dodge
True.
Gears & Gadgets it’s a shame, I rlly like Chevy, at least nobody’s had problems with the duramax drivetrain yet. I wouldn’t give up on Chevy yet
Anyone who offers eight can do twelve.
Negotiation.
Oh all the big bad gm guys think there Ls based trucks are the bomb! Yeah ok🤣
lol
They’re bomb alright
"their" LT based trucks have the shake. The LS based trucks are the bomb. yeah ok!!! :)
Absolutely, I totally agree!!!!
Buy a Ford.
Fair
Nope, Dodge
Bill Arrow hell no Fiat is trash
I wish I liked fords, always hated the body style of all generations
Todd Merriott well I get that everyone has there own Taste

Thank you Fords4life 91
lol the new Ford Ecoboosts are fuckin' trash. I was about to pick one up and when i went to 2 local dealers they each had around 4 getting new engines due to the turbo's going to shit and taking the engine with them. 2 guys i work with have had engine replacements before 120k miles....
