It's almost been a year. How do you feel about the fence now? Does it hold up well against the elements? Where did you insert the 4 by 4s? Only at the gates?
And if u want the post to stay solid long term don't use a wood post inside but rather slide 4 re-bar into the concrete inside the post... then once the fence is assembled fill the post about 2/3 full of a wet, but stiff mix, of concrete. Put duct tape over the open end of the bottom rail first so the concrete doesn't run into it when u fill the post. Also be sure to screw on hinge and latch hardware before filling the posts.
I assume the neighbor didn’t want to split the cost of the fence. But if she she later decides to take down the stone wall, she benefits from the vinyl fence for free.
So I am wanting to use thus exact setup. Are the post and panels related to one another? The reason I am asking is because I cannot find the Freedom Emblem post that go with the panels. Also would you have a parts list you would be willing to give or maybe know? Thank you.
Good video, thanks! Only comment would be to use a remote microphone with wind cover on future videos so sound level isn't really weak or go up.down in volume.
Hi, this is Dillon, I was on the job with Tim. On gates/fences like this, its always a good idea to use a 4 by 4 or a 2 by 4 so you have something to screw into. It isnt always necessary to do this though. You have to have room to have the top railing on top and the bottom railing on the bottom. But if you do the proper post installation, 18 to 24 inches deep with a 1 1/2 to 2 bags of cement, it should be real sturdy. Another tip, you can pour cement inside the actual post when you fill the outside first. That will give you an extreme amount of strength. Whenever you pour cement inside, make sure you leave enough room to join the bottom rails and the top rails.
@@DiecastShowcase Are all PVC posts the same diameter? Are some 4 " posts and some are 5" posts? I need to put a fence in for my parents to replace a wooden fence. If you are in a high wind area, you can use steel post inserts. These are inserted into the post and set into the concrete in conjunction with the vinyl. For line posts they sell these in a z shape to allow the rail to slide into the post from both sides.
If these steps were not followed with the fence shown in the video, that fence will look like crap in a year. The posts will become out of plumb and the tops will not be level.
It varies from manufacturer to you're to manufacture I've seen him last 25 years at least but you have to keep them clean wash and once in a while And they have to be installed properly
Any way to roughly calculate the time needed for this assuming an average handy person is doing this for the first time and do poles need to be left to cure, after pouring concrete?
A few things depend on how long it takes you if you have someone helping you and you can use Quick dry cement it takes about 2 hours to cure and it's only a dollar more $2 a bag more you can dry set the post's and you won't have to wait the 2 hours if you have two people that are pretty handy you could do this in two days day and a half
Hello. This is Lowe's Freedom Fencing. I don't remember if it is the Emblem fencing. We don't remember the actual distances between posts, but you can, once purchasing the actual fencing, pre assemble one panel with two posts and take your measurement and you will have 2 inches leeway between the posts and that will be your measurement. Note, do not set posts further apart. It is ok to set them below your measurement, but not above.
i put my fence up by myself and it wasnt as hard as this guy makes it look.i installed one section at a time and leveled each post as I went .the hardest part of installing this fence is digging the hole.
I just got done putting this fence up today. Did it a little different then him. I never dug a hole till needed. I also set the bottom rail and one end of the top rail that way I could just slid it in. Super easy. Each panel and post took maybe 15mins. I had a gas post hole digger tho I got off Amazon for only $200
Just to give u ballpark: I was looking to get about 85ft of fence with an entry gate installed and I got 4 different quotes. The lowest I got was $2900, the highest was $3500. I'm also in southern Cali, as the person that made the video. So if ur looking for about 40ft, I'm assuming it cost about half of what I got quoted. I learned that most companies charge $35-$50/linear ft. Its not an exact number, but at least it kinda gives u an idea.
Thank you for this, very informative and helpful. Very nice job. Could I ask what brand of fence this is? And, does that bottom rail have an aluminum rail inside to minimize sagging?

Used a string line at the top.
Thanks for sharing! Is this a 6X8 fence?
Technically it is a 5 by 8 foot fence panel
looks nice, neat and everything but looks like to me, it obstructs the air flow bec its almost too perfect.
Not gonna lie that looks harder than a regular friends
What was the cost?
Just curious. Why didn't you make the height of the two fences the same?
The other fence on a slope and bottom rail is in the dirt my customer wanted it this height
Good video, I just wish you guys would have started recording since the first post set up(level wise) lol
i put my fence up by myself and it wasnt as hard as this guy makes it look.i installed one section at a time and leveled each post as I went .the hardest part of installing this fence is digging the hole.
I just got done putting this fence up today. Did it a little different then him. I never dug a hole till needed. I also set the bottom rail and one end of the top rail that way I could just slid it in. Super easy. Each panel and post took maybe 15mins. I had a gas post hole digger tho I got off Amazon for only $200
@@nicholashillman6091 what do u mean you didn't have to dig a hole until needed

What’s a average you charge for that labor of 40 ft of fencing
Hello Michael! This is Freedom Fencing from Lowe's. Thank you for your comment! Edit: Yes there does.
No only an 8 ft rail would have aluminum inserts for support
How did you do the bottom rung?
Pls does anyone know where I can buy this fence material
Home depot
Lowe’s sells the Freedom Emblem line.
Do you need wooden fence post on the inside? Or the vinyl post are good enough?
Just Vinyl
