When you come to a corner, raise your chisel so it is perpendicular to the part and then scribe the next line. This will stop the panel line corners from getting rounded like yours ended up.
I my God I knew that compass would help. Anyways, awesome and helpful video as always. I'm gonna practice on the spare HG Barbatos shoulder I have as I don't wanna mess Hyaku Shiki
Need some input please. I am starting to get more into scribing my kits and I have good equipment. Dspiae Push Broach with clamp handle. The issue I am having is that after scribing the lines look chewed up and choppy as hell. All the scribes are within the line and follow the pattern perfectly, however, the lines are looking really uneven especially along the edges.. I don't know if maybe I am using a broach that is too thick or too thin. Maybe all the inconsistency will go away after priming but I can keep getting these results and continuing. Any help is greatly appreciated?????
I have not used the DSPIAE push broach or anything like that so I could give a fair assessment :/ One thing I've learned from practicing more parts to scribe is that you really have to start with really light strokes. Even at least 20 light strokes. It's going to be enough for you to at least help whatever you're using to scirbe to really get locked into the scribing pattern. I hope I'm making sense 😅
Thank you for the video! You seem to use only pointy part of the chisel and not the flat .2mm width part? Do you risk damage to the chisel doing it especially on a smaller width chisel?
Ive never seen anyone do that technique you used to draw the panel lines. Where you made and X and used the points to make the lines. Is there a name for that?
I actually don't have a name for it 😅 Also, some of the techniques I used here need some corrections. I'll try to upload a new one with the correct techniques
So when you scribe do you put the tape over the line or do you put the edge of tape by the line? Also once the tape is place do you scribe over the tape or on the edge of the tape?
Hmmm... Well, I lay the scribing tapes one at a time and they don't overlap. Then, I scribe by the edge of the tape. I hope that answers the question 😅
Yooww! You can use the sunshine nail buffer you can buy from cosmetic shops 😁😁 Or, what I currently use, the nano glass file. It's really cheap. I'll have to create a video for it 😁
@@TheMobileSuitHangar thanks sir, found it in shopee.. excited to try it soon, thank you! hope you have make a video about decals and how to keep them in the gunpla and avoid peeling 😁

Yow! I appreciate the feedback, man! Thank you for this tip. 🙏🙏
Clever technique for the "blueprint" of the Panel Line. Good tutorial. :)
Thanks, man! 🙏🙏
A guitar pick is a great part separator. Durable, thin, doesn’t scratch, and as cheap as it gets.
I saw a gunpla tip video mentioning that. But now, I got a proper parts separator 😅
Cool! Now I can turn seam lines into panel lines!
As for me, though, I have a Tamiya scriber and a Dymo tape which I got from National Bookstore.
I have the dymo tape. Unfortunately it kinda dislodges quickly :/
@@TheMobileSuitHangar
Uh oh. But yeah, I saw that was the case. :(
So I guess I just have to try holding it down while scribing then?
Yeah :/ and you really have to give your first 3 scribes reaaaaally light strokes.
Yo! Those are some sicc panel scribing! Looks like it's time to get out my comfort zone and try this! Great vid!
Hope this helps for our IBO build-off LOL
BACK AT IT AGAIN! Planning to scribe tooo for my first custom gunpla! hehe
It's kind of scary at first. Just prepare some putty if you have some if you need to correct your errors. But yeah it's pretty fun 😁
Thanks dude. Very easy to understand. And now i just have to buy hobby chisels and im good to go. Im building PG Unicorn and PG Banshee btw.
Glad to be of help! 😁😁
Just happened to have the same kit half built and was looking for scribing advice!! Salamat
Thanks, man! 🙏🙏
Love this video. Definetly got to try on the next kit.
Thanks, man! 🙏🙏👊👊😁😁
A great tutorial!
Thanks from Brazil, man!
Thanks for your support as always, man! 😁👊👊
Sweet! Great content very informative. And has very clean audio good job!
Thanks, brother! 😎👊👊👊
We use the same chisel i got from an online shop. Nice vid by the way
Hey good to know! 😁 they're not bad at all. 😊
Thanks for watching the video, man! 😁
This is helpful, I'm starting a vlog about Gunpla Custom Painting, scribing needs more Patience
It does! I'm still actually improving and correcting my mistakes
This was a great video! Super helpful in showing how to pick where to put your lines.
Thank you!!
nice tutorial mate very informative... more tuts pls.. =)
Sure, man! Haha I'll have to improve my modelling skills for that. 😁

@@TheMobileSuitHangar Plus, Hyaku Shiki's gold can be annoying at times
Thank you so much for this info very easy to follow
Wow! I hope it really helped! 😁
can you make a video on how to make scribing patterns? what the thought process is, rules, etc.
I'll try to make one 😅 I think I need to buy more scribers first
What a perfect video thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful! :D Thank you for watching!
@@TheMobileSuitHangar You're welcome.

@@TheMobileSuitHangar yea I think you are.. Like more even strokes and not with so much pressure??
Yes! More strokes and slightly increasing the pressure on the strokes
If you get good enough with scribing you can make a hg look like a rg
Thank you for the video! You seem to use only pointy part of the chisel and not the flat .2mm width part? Do you risk damage to the chisel doing it especially on a smaller width chisel?
Not really, i slightly adjust the angle of the chisel to the flatter part as I add strokes so the lines would be wider 😁

I wouldn't recommend it. You really have to use proper scribing tools
