    I am married to a man and I love him. However, I identify as bisexual. I didn't feel comfortable saying that until I was 30. My husband was the first person I told and he was like that makes sense. Does it change anything between us? I said no not really but I feel more comfortable now.

    I’m 42, southern, white and Christian. I have 2 daughters (5 and 2). I’ve always said it doesn’t matter who they end up loving as long as they treat them right. They can’t get married til they are 25 and have a college education lol but I’ll accept and love them no matter what. But if anyone tries to hurt my girls then I’m going to kick some ass.

      I don’t understand how anyone can disown their child. I carried my oldest for 39 weeks 6 days and 11.5 hours. My second for 39 weeks and 4 days. I had my body cut open to get them here safely. I went thru excruciating pain. I would die for my daughters. So why would I disown my them for who they love? If any parent does that then they are not worthy to be a parent.

    When a person comes out to you, match their energy. If someone is super excited to tell you and are jumping up and down excited, be excited with them! If someone is just being conversational about it, have that reaction. If someone is worried, match that and tell them its ok, thats all we need, is some support.

    My coming out story is actually really fun, people always laugh when I tell them
    I ordered 50 of those small flags you put in a cake, the ones with the wooden stick. They were lesbian. When they came I made sure my parents wouldn't see them. I cut off all the sticks, took the flags, got into my closet, and called my mom. When she finally opened the closet I threw the flags right in her face and screamed "surprise". She looked at me real weird with those little flags all over the place, while I was fighting my way out of the closet. She didn't say anything so I said "Mom, I'm gay" she replied with "OHH THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ABOUT! Yeah, I know, this wasn't really needed"

From what I’ve seen, being a sister to a brother in the LGBTQ+ community, ask respectfully and you can learn. My brother was a victim of a hate crime and we lost him Jan. 1 of this year.... in memory of him and his life, I will proudly support the community that loved him 🏳️‍🌈

    Oliver's mom had the best reaction. Calm, not panicking but also not making a big deal about it either way. I've heard some parents say that they are worried that their kid might just be confused or might "change their mind" -- and you know what, sure, let's say that the kid might be confused (what kid ISN'T confused about who they are?) and they might change their mind (or rather, they might realize who they are in a deeper level, and identify in a different way later). That doesn't negate who they are in that moment, and how they feel. Let them explore who they are, how they identify, and support them no matter what.
    I think about it this way - an adult is allowed to believe a certain religion, and feel very strongly about that religious identity. They can later change their mind and identify with a different religion. That doesn't negate their previous beliefs or make them false.
    Or to give another analogy, let's say your kid said that they love math and want to be a mathematician one day. You'd support that and give them the resources they need to pursue that goal. You wouldn't say, "But I thought you would be a writer! I put you in writing camp last summer. What if you decide later that you want to study English more? You shouldn't join Math Club, because I think that you might later change your mind and decide not to study math at all."

    • @TommyD1213
      @TommyD1213 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It 100% negates what they can be in the future if they do change their mind at 20 but they had “gender-affirming” surgery at 12. You completely summarized the argument against allowing kids to make permanent decisions because of a temporary feeling.

Same goes if they wanna transition etc, they should always know we will support them in whatever makes them happy :)

      Honestly it took a lot of time for me as well but I just came to the conclusion that the thought of intercourse with a woman does not appeal to me. If you still aren't sure about it, I'd say that experience with both genders is the best way to tell. Hope this helps!

    • @basilsupremacy505
      @basilsupremacy505 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Try to think about who attracted you most: men, women, anyone in between. Like in your whole life idk
      A lot of us still aren't sure and that's ok, you're on your self discovery journey. It's hard labeling yourself, there's no rush.
      At the end of the day you like who you like and that's it.

      think carefully, ur heart ever been start pounding like crazy or get nervous when a pretty girl is infront of u ??? does the thought of kissing a girl etc please you??? when i was questioning i even had dreams of being intimate and sexual with women 💀🤣.... after i accepted that i could be attracted to the same gender i realized that i had crushes on female celebrities when i was growing up🥴
      It could be different experience for all of us. And remember that u don't have to kiss a girl/same gender to confirm ur sexuality. Look deep in you, ask yourselves questions, keep asking. keep searching and take as long as u want. 💜

    • @nickitori
      @nickitori 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I started out unsure whether I just found women pretty or attractive. At some point, I tried acknowledging my feelings towards them by saying things to myself like, oh yeah she's hot 😍. I got comfortable thinking that way and over time accepted that yeah, I like girls and boys. I realized that I was just afraid to think about women that way. So, I would advise you just live like you're bisexual. Then, if it's not for you, stop.

    • @staywith_skz8
      @staywith_skz8 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was also confused too until my cousin said she was bi and then I realized how much I've been looking at women in a different way and at that time I had a boyfriend who I (at that time) still love so that's where I realized that I'm bi. For you to figure out your sexuality just trust your heart and and ask yourself "which do I find most attractive boys, girls or both?" and take a look back at your actions, just like what I did

  • @Naomi100798
    @Naomi100798 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I'm NOT crying😭.... I've been confused most of my life until I finally accepted myself as bisexual in 2019 as the person who I am. Every time someone said it to me I became angry and sad because I wasn't ready to see it for myself yet. It feels so good to be myself now. I'm out and proud. Not for everyone yet but I'm not hiding it when someone asks about it. The people who I wanted or I think needed to know, know it already.
    For everyone who isn't ready to come out yet, that's okay, we've all been there (it took me 14 years to get there). You are VALID and LOVED❤. We support you and if you every feel like talking, know that we are here for you, you are not alone! I've struggled so much and it felt like a warm bath when I became officially part of the LGBTQ+ community. Everyone was so kind and loving and helping. Just make sure you are ready and feeling good about it. The most important thing is that you love yourself!
    Anyways, that's it for my little power talk! I love y'all! ✌🏳️‍🌈❤ Keep on loving!

    My coming out experience is kinda messy given that at first I thought I was bi in sixth grade. I had told my mom in confidence and she said well you don’t know yet and kinda just shot be down every time I wanted to talk to her about a girl. I came out about 9 times in total 3 of those times I came out as a lesbian. Around 9th grade I had the realization that I didn’t actually like men and I realized I said that bc I wanted my mom to still have that outlet and that confidence that I might end up with a husband. Now I’m going into senior year and she’s opened up her mind to the possibility that I might not end up with a guy. She still kind of thinks it’s gonna go away but she’s willing to hear me out when we talk about it. I had a really hard time figuring out my sexuality because I wanted to make sure everyone was happy which kinda made me depressed. Now I have amazing friends who help me spot cute girls and I have friends who tell me that my taste in women is absolute trash. I know my mom will come around she just needs time. My sister is amazing too she makes sure I’m comfortable and that when I talk to her she keeps her mind open with the fact that I only talk about women. It’s nice to know that I have people in my life who will back me up. I hope I’ll get lucky and I’ll finally find the right girl for me next year but if I don’t it’s ok I always have college

      That's how I felt until a couple years ago someone told me this:
      The only truth that matters is the one you carry inside your heart.
      You have to love and accept yourself, also understand some older people who didn't get a chance to learn how to love everyone for different circumstances they might had to deal with. At the end of the day, your sexuality has nothing to do with your family, so just don't listen to them when they talk about something they don't really undestand and most important... don't take it personally.
      All that matters is how you treat them, and how they treat you. Independently from how they feel about LGBTIQ+.
      You'll find people who will be your allies and you'll be able to discuss all kind of LGBTIQ+ related topics with them and you will surely feel undestood and loved.
      Wish you hope and good luck♥

    My experience was sort of like the boy telling his mum in the car I told my mom I was going to prom with a girl and that I liked her and she goes yah you had a crush on Kim Possible I think I knew before you did 😂

    My family is very supportive of the community even if they don't live that kind of life. When I was in high school and told them I had a girlfriend and was pan, they didn't care one way or the other. I have a husband and a son now and if he comes out to us, we will be just as supportive and loving towards him.

    I barely remember coming out 💀
    I was either in elementary or early in middle school and I *think* I just got in the car after school one day and said "Hey I think I'm bi" and that was that!! In highschool now, and although it's shifted through time I always come to it one way or another! LOL
