LOFOTEN: A roadtrip to the MOST AMAZING places of Lofoten Islands // EPS. 7 EXPEDITION NORTH

- If there is one place on earth where it doesn’t matter if it rains, if snows, or if the sun shines because it’s beautiful never the less - it must be Lofoten Islands in Norway. A rugged mountain chain is rising up from the Gulf Stream, forming a rare and unique world. It’s wild and beautiful, with azure blue water, white beaches, green mountainsides, beautiful fjords, old fishing towns and maybe some of the most spectacular roads in the world.
Here are my Highlights for a visit on Lofoten islands:
- Visit the town Å i Lofoten
- Sleep in traditional Rorbuer, old fishing huts that are often reused as appartments and rent out to tourists
- Dine at Holmen Restaurant
- Drive over the stunning Fredvang bridges
- Check out the artistic village Henningsvær and it's football field, that is situated on it's own island
- Visit Nusfjord, one of the best preserved historic fishing villages in all of Norway
On our arrival with the ferry from Bodø in Moskenes on the island Moskenesøy of Lofoten we first did a trip to the most southern village of the island - that has the shortes name I ever came across: Å. After arriving in our accommodation Eliassen Rorbuer I invited my travel partner to Holmen Restaurant for a amazing dining experience.
The next day we finally took off to explore Lofoten: We drove over water at the beautiful Fredvang bridges, visited Nusfjord and it's restored historic village, looked at some art boutiques and the football field at Henningsvær and ended our day in Svolvær. Some of you asked why he doesn’t want to be on the TH-cam videos - do you remember that he always comes in the picture when something goes wrong? (E.g. him being stuck in Sand in Mauritania, dropped motorcycle in Guinea, stuck in Sand in Sierra Leone ...). Yes, if I was him I wouldn’t trust me either that I will portrait him in a good way. 😂
(And another answer is: some people just don’t want to be all over social Media because of their jobs/ difficult family situations / or just because they simply don’t want it. I think that’s very legitimate as there come as well a lot of negative things with it. It’s never wrong to protect your privacy 🙏🏻)

Having been there by bike, I totally agree, the Lofoten Islands are beautiful in every way, even when there are some very violent storms.

But we make Ockelbo snowmobiles and we have the Dala-horse in Sweden and we also invented the word "fika" that means to eat between meals so I think we are about at the same or maybe at a higher level when it comes to attractions.

What a beautiful place. I was there in may 2023. My son and I drove from Narvik. Is the most north place I have ever been. I really enjoyed driving with my son. I am 68 and he is 30. I live in Colombia and he lives in Oslo.
Have never been there, but everywere else around Nothern norway. I only live 500 km from Lofoten 😂 in Sweden. But because of your video , My T7 is going to visit Lofoten 😘. And Trollstigen

After working in and traveling around all over the world i have seen so many beautiful and fascinating places. Then i travelled around Norway and i must say it must be the most beautiful country on the planet. And Lofoten is the most beautiful place i have ever visited. I was lucky with the weather with blue skies all over. Totally stunning. It´ s like having the Alps in the middle of the sea. I come from the country next door, Sweden, which is quite beautiful itself, but i must admit Norway is even more so.

Ach wie lustig! Da müssen wir uns knapp verpasst haben - hat euch der Regen dafür wenigstens nicht so lange begleitet? Auf der Fähre nach Norwegen haben wir Motorradfahrer getroffen, die bis nach Bergen mit der Fähre gefahren sind (und einen etwas strafferen Zeitplan hatten als wir) - und sie hatten die ganze Zeit Sonnenschein! 😂
@@Got2Go 😊 Leider hatten wir auf den Lofoten nur Regen. Dann ging es weiter bis Narvik, was auch unser nördlichster Punkt war. Danach wieder Richtung Süden. Angelehnt an Eure Reise, werden wir auf unserer nächsten Tour über Finnland bis zum Nordkapp fahren und dann über Schweden zurück. Sind schon neugierig auf deinen nächsten Clip.
Ja das ist eine gute Idee! Ich würde ja auch gerne noch Norwegen weiter an der Grenze von Schweden im inneren des Landes bereisen - das ist sicher auch nochmal anders und spannend! So viel zu tun in Skandinavien! Und: oh nein bezüglich eures Lofoten Wetters. Es ist immer ein Glücksspiel!
