That is all I think I about and as soon as I open my eyes in the morning. Thank you so much for sharing. I worked with some Germans from Meppen and they all were so very nice and funny. I bought 5 books and one computer program to try to learn German, but my accent and tongue wouldn't cooperate with the language. LOL! Thank goodness I was able to learn the German phrase for poisonous snake. We have a lot of Sidewinders and Rattlesnakes in our area and I wanted them to be aware of where they hide during the day and what they look and sound like. I was teaching them what to look for and one of the Germans that spoke and understood English very well would translate to German, so they all learned. I'll never forget a few of them came to my apartment to check out the computer program I bought to learn German. I would speak the German words and phrases into the microphone and it would tell me if I was pronouncing them correctly or not. They laughed when it said I pronounced the words correctly and told me it was wrong. So one of them spoke German into the microphone and it said it was incorrect. We all had a good laugh that it was such a bad program that it would tell a German he was not speaking German correctly. So I learned to never trust all computer programs. LOL!!! Yes I think I only realized myself how beautiful it was when I cut the video - somehow my foot and the hospital visit and the leaking ducati kept me pretty busy that day. So I was very happy that I could visit the area again with the videos and without a swollen foot! 😂

Here in New Foundland, Canada we have Lingon Berries, the name of which comes from Swedish. We also have a Viking settlement there. This has been such a remarkably beautiful trip through Norway. As an avid tourer (Africa Twin) I couldn't believe it when you pulled up at the Lyngen Lodge. My wife and I stayed there for 5 nights. Wonderful scenery. You were right not to go via Tromso.

Amazing scenery and camera work. Living vicariously and recalling our trip though Switzerland etc a couple of years ago.( on a BMW 1200GS). Just downloaded and enjoyed your book too! Cool to see your choice of a Tiger which I had until I swapped it for a Tenere 700. ;-) As an old bugger I was particularly taken with your Dad owning a Z900 ( one of my first bikes back in the 70's) .

Get well soon both of you ! For the swollen foot , mix Turmeric Powder and Salt with some clean water to make a thick paste , and put over night on the swollen area. wrap a clean cloth around it .

The Lyngen Alps are a mountain range in northeastern Troms county in Norway. Only a few places provide the extraordinary feeling of being 'at the edge of the world'.
Heyhey... it's normal for a bike with a soul to cry sometimes... Some drops of oil never stopped any Ducati, hm! Say to the man with the Ducati to open the throttle and go! 👍😉 Amazing videos by the way!

Magnificent video and choice of music. That breakfast cake looked yummy! So sorry about your poor foot. To answer your question a foot can be permanently fixed, a Ducati will break again. To guarantee you will be stranded in the middle of nowhere where there is zero professional help, go on any Ducati or a BMW 1200 or 1250 GS with a clutch problem (10 hours minimum as complete back end must be removed to change a clutch, my GS 1200 was left somewhere south of Ahwaz in Iran after electrical trouble then the clutch went. Flew home and bought Japanese!). Many thanks for a lovely video.
That’s why I own a Yamaha Tenere too! 😂 can’t trust these big bikes and I met actually 3 (!!!) GS drivers on my worldtrip, who had to go home like you did because they were not able to fix the bike anymore. They are quite comfy for Europe though - I am actually thinking about getting a gs in addition to my Tenere! Gs for home, Tenere for travel! ☺️ And you were right: the foot was better soon, the ducati broke even more 😂😂😂
@@Got2Go My choice for an Adventure Bike that is mainly for road use and can be used off-road safely is the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin which is not too heavy and completely reliable to date or a KTM 1290 Adventure which is also good (with a few minor electrical glitches if you are unlucky) but it might be a bit tall for you? Another seriously good bike is the Suzuki V-Strom, the 1000 is my choice for better road performance. DO NOT BUY A TRIUMPH! Or a BMW. Or a Ducati. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Have done some serious hard miles on the Honda, KTM and Suzuki with only regular maintenance needed.
@@paulcosgrove6160 I love my Triumph Tiger - 800 - brought me around the world with no issues. ;) So no bad words about the Tiger on my pages! ;) I am very tall, the V Storm is too small for me (and I personally find it as well ugly...). I don't like the big KTMs, they get super hot, I once drove a KTM adventure and it burnt my complete leg on the side. The dealer laughed and said "it's the integrated seat heating". It's funny because I really don't like BMW as a brand and the image - but I just find the 1200 GSA super comfotable and love it for alpine tarmac roads - and if I take everything that I know about the brands aside I as well like the design better than for example ktms. And the africa twin is out because my travel partner has one. hahaha.
@@Got2Go How tall are you? Surprised at your Suzuki comment as I am 1.86 and don't find it small. Agree about the older bikes looks but 2019 on they are much better. I must admit I always change the full exhaust on a KTM for Akrapovic and heat is not, or certainly less of a problem. I have travelled on several BMW.s and always had problems, the last time is was a huge top end oil leak on a K1300GT as the gaskets dry out or go brittle apparently, the GS problems are too many to list here! Love your Africa Twin comment..............typical woman! Du bist wirklich meine perfekte Frau, verdammt schade, dass ich zu alt für dich bin! Sie könnten alle Fahrräder haben, die Sie wollten, obwohl LOL!

For the swollen foot , mix Turmeric Powder and Salt with some clean water to make a thick paste , and put over night on the swollen area. wrap a clean cloth around it .

Magnificent video and choice of music. That breakfast cake looked yummy! So sorry about your poor foot. To answer your question a foot can be permanently fixed, a Ducati will break again. To guarantee you will be stranded in the middle of nowhere where there is zero professional help, go on any Ducati or a BMW 1200 or 1250 GS with a clutch problem (10 hours minimum as complete back end must be removed to change a clutch, my GS 1200 was left somewhere south of Ahwaz in Iran after electrical trouble then the clutch went. Flew home and bought Japanese!). Many thanks for a lovely video.
That’s why I own a Yamaha Tenere too! 😂 can’t trust these big bikes and I met actually 3 (!!!) GS drivers on my worldtrip, who had to go home like you did because they were not able to fix the bike anymore. They are quite comfy for Europe though - I am actually thinking about getting a gs in addition to my Tenere! Gs for home, Tenere for travel! ☺️
And you were right: the foot was better soon, the ducati broke even more 😂😂😂
@@Got2Go My choice for an Adventure Bike that is mainly for road use and can be used off-road safely is the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin which is not too heavy and completely reliable to date or a KTM 1290 Adventure which is also good (with a few minor electrical glitches if you are unlucky) but it might be a bit tall for you? Another seriously good bike is the Suzuki V-Strom, the 1000 is my choice for better road performance. DO NOT BUY A TRIUMPH! Or a BMW. Or a Ducati. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Have done some serious hard miles on the Honda, KTM and Suzuki with only regular maintenance needed.

I am very tall, the V Storm is too small for me (and I personally find it as well ugly...). I don't like the big KTMs, they get super hot, I once drove a KTM adventure and it burnt my complete leg on the side. The dealer laughed and said "it's the integrated seat heating".
It's funny because I really don't like BMW as a brand and the image - but I just find the 1200 GSA super comfotable and love it for alpine tarmac roads - and if I take everything that I know about the brands aside I as well like the design better than for example ktms. And the africa twin is out because my travel partner has one. hahaha.
@@Got2Go How tall are you? Surprised at your Suzuki comment as I am 1.86 and don't find it small. Agree about the older bikes looks but 2019 on they are much better. I must admit I always change the full exhaust on a KTM for Akrapovic and heat is not, or certainly less of a problem. I have travelled on several BMW.s and always had problems, the last time is was a huge top end oil leak on a K1300GT as the gaskets dry out or go brittle apparently, the GS problems are too many to list here! Love your Africa Twin comment..............typical woman! Du bist wirklich meine perfekte Frau, verdammt schade, dass ich zu alt für dich bin!
