Here is another helpful tip for next time I just remembered. When you are on the inventory screen and you want to maximize the spaces available, press the square symbol button over the item you want to move I think and move it to the space desired and press the button again to deposit it in the new place.

I am a 26 year veteran of "Resident Evil" games and even I panic sometimes. The music is supposed to make you panic. It's part of the survival horror genre. Lots of jump scares. I panicked my first what I dub "onslaught" missions where they stick you in a small area and you have to survive the horde. It started in the original "Resident Evil 4"in that old house with Leon, Luis, and Ashley I think, so for the RE3 remake I think they wanted to continue that type of mission with Carlos having to defend the room with Tyrell and Jill while fighting off the horde of enemies. I don't before RE4 that I ever had to really fight my way out of a confined space and I was thinking I am never gonna get past this area, but I did. I think you can with the gear you have. It's not impossible. They throw everything at you including the kitchen sink(Hunters, that's what those hulking, Curt Connors's, creatures. They are from the first "Resident Evil" which I highly recommend to play if they remake it or you can get the original if you want to). For me, I have found that, unless you are surrounded by more than 2 zombies, use the handgun only, but be sure you keep them from getting close. I know it's hard to use the handgun ammo if you don't have much ammo for it, but just try not to overkill an enemy while still knifing them when they go down to make sure. That is a good idea. I have started doing that too. Conserving the bigger guns as much as you can will help against hunters, lickers, Nemesis, etc. As for the briefcase you saw, that's a Jilll only item and so are the pickable locks unfortunately. The way to find it if you haven't already found out, is that there is a corridor that seems blocked off, but is different in that there is a small crawl space. I tried it with Carlos, but he only says something "Hmph! Not going that way", but Jill will be able to squeeze through. There you will see a broken window with the yellow tape and you can jump to the floor below and grab the special item. A very useful item. As for the safe, if you play through this again. You have to just go through room by room. I think it may be in the room opened by the ID Card right next to the zombies that smash the glass door. I am not sure. I forget. Seems like I remember 9 and 3 being the numbers, but I am not sure. It's wiser to find the document with the combination on it. I apologize for the length of the comment, but I want to help you have the best experience possible. The "Resident Evil" series has been very enjoyable and replayable to me and I hope you are enjoying it as well.

You seem like such a nice lady with a great sense of humor. A gamer girl! I love it. If you ever find yourself in Charlotte, NC USA at a convention like Heroes Con or whatever, I would love to meet you in person. As for what to do after Carlos finishes and you switch back to Jill. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but when you have the final boss battle you will be longing for Carlos and the onslaught of zombies. The final boss is tough. I tried it in Inferno Mode, the hardest mode, because you have to unlock it and it's been so long, I couldn't beat the final boss. I had to wimp out and go back a few difficulty levels to beat the game. Your battle should be easier though, but still be prepared. Good luck and you should go back to RE2 and play as Claire. Her side character is Sherry and it's quite interesting.
The safe code is: 9, 3. Only 2 numbers but there is an extended clip on the inside of the safe that doubles the capacity giving you 64 bullets instead of 32. As you can see, you're gonna need all the rounds you can get for that hospital battle. So go back and get the extra clip first from where you last left off before jumping into the zombie battle.
