When I was a child in the summer time, every puddle of water was full of frog eggs, and you could find Bull Frogs in every pond, the night air was full of their sound. The Bull Frogs are still around but you have to look pretty hard.
Love the talk. The new, better baselines we could create from modern nature conservation could be as "good" as but different to the old baselines. It's not about going back to a mythical past but forward to a better future. The future is not what it used to be.
I always had that sense of baseline,i still remember the deafening chirping of birds in the morning,i remember the endless streams of insects which used to strike my body when i biked,i remember the skyline filled with gliding vultures.But as those things don't exist anymore the baseline has changed for my child.
It’s so interesting his only recommendation was for James Cameron to do avatar 2 underwater. 2022/2023 and seven years later, he did it!!!!
