People who think that Trump is going to invade Greenland, Panama Canal, or Canada are exactly the morons he hopes to be negotiating against.
Trump is not going to invade Greenland for the simple reason that there's no need to. He is very well positioned already to drive a very US-friendly deal with Greenland, and Greenland has responded to Trump's threats by saying "we are not for sale, but we are very open to mutually beneficial deals". In the coming decades, Greenland has much to benefit from American protection. I don't think that giving up a few bargaining chips for that protection is going to be that hard for them to do.

Predicting inflation starting to rise again this quarter while leading indicators showing economy slowing (not to mention governm*nt figures pumped up for the election). Global economy very weak which affects US. Fed dropping rates 0.50 shows they're VERY worried about financial downturn/crisis. interest rates coming down are also an indication banks are LESS willing to loan money into existence. The question here is where is the inflation going to come from in the near term? Consumers are mostly tapped out which is 70% of US economy (consumption). Yes inflation very likely to return but not before it continues to come down... Inflation can be a concern, but remember, certain assets like stocks and Crypto’s acts as a hedge. To be fair, the term refers to the part of a persons ability that can be applied to creating something that others are willing to pay for. It’s not saying that you or I are reducible to money. However, many of the people who use the term indeed are greedy manipulators or slave masters, as you say.

I say the western allies should call Trump on all of his bluffs, tell him to f-off, stick to rule-based international order, and let the chips fall where they may.
This idea where everyone from Mexico to Ukraine must scurry about to tickle Trump's lard in the right way, so as to not get on his bad foot is perfect nonsense. I want him as irate as possible. It means that the institutions of western liberal democracy are doing their job.
That's a really good take on it
And we have to understand leadership as a four element process: leader (or leading nation), followers (constituents), common objectives and juncture, political juncture, great talk by Ian B!
Those glasses are amazing
Excellent!
Kofi Annan of Blessed memory talked so much about global leadership......the recent war in Ukraine is a good example of lack of leadership.Transactional indeed!!!
Ian, as always, sharp as a razor.
Ian Bremmer's insightful analyses always provide valuable perspectives on critical global developments. It would be beneficial for the President to surround himself with advisors of Ian Bremmer's caliber, whose expertise and strategic vision could significantly enhance decision-making.
Bremmer is not even near the knowledge and analytic capacity of a Jeffrey Sachs or Ben Norton!!!
I think people are greatly underestimating the situation in Ukraine and Trump's ability to influence the situation.
keep them out of NATO for starters
He'll certainly influence the situation for Putin's benefit.
I'm really intrigued by Ian Bremmer's insights! It's wild to think about how 2025 could mirror such tumultuous times in history. The impact of AI and geopolitics is definitely something we should keep an eye on. What do you think will be the biggest challenge?
I guess AI. I don't like the fact that there is a possibility for them to get smarter and smarter. Maybe they'll kill us one day.
Risk from increasing Cyber attacks - on the USA and Western democracies. AI is going to increase this risk substantially.
Hopefully Artificial Intelligence is sufficiently smart to offset the complete absence of intelligence about to resume office!!!
@marcustait79 I don't get it? Sorry I'm kinda young to understand those words. Can you please explain more easily if you may?
One's lifetime is like a flower that blooms in the morning due and wilts in the afternoon sun. Soon will all will take our last breath. Money, power and prestige will stay behind. How we treated others will go with us.
Yes!!!
Amazing thought. God bless
The most useful video in this year of early 2025
G Zero .... finally, a wise person with bravery and knowledge to speak the truths ! Bravo .
No wondering there's so little views of this piece, this gentleman is so living in his own little bubble and please, please let him stay up there!
I think I agree with you but could you expand a bit on it please? I think it would be eye opening for me too
As always, solid performance
Considering the accelerating impacts from climate change, I'm surprised he didn't at least give it a mention, even in passing. But maybe he's never been to a disaster zone and doesn't yet comprehend its effects on individuals, on communities and even regions and nations.
Long & short-term trading is generally safer, allowing investors to weather market volatility. I have managed to grow a nest egg of around 3.2 B'tc to a decent 27B'tc in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Jinny Franz, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.
She's mostly on Telegrams, using the user name.
@JinnyFranz
One thing I know for certain is crypto is here to stay, the only thing that leaves is the people who don't manage their risk. Manage that, or the market will manage it for you. With the right strategies you will survive.
Access to good information is what we investors needs to progress financially and generally in life. this is a good one and I appreciate…
Jinny is very sound in analysis and her service delivery is top notch. I am so grateful to her for her assistance which has made me a much better and profiting trader.
This is a very good analysis and not at all sensationaized or partisan.. and this is opinion.. refreshing. Do I agree with all of it? No... but a discussion seems possible, and that's also rare.
Best, most succinct analysis of geopolitic I've heard in months and I'm an absolute news junkie. Non partisan, neutral opinion, good stuff!
I found it interesting that after discussing the relationship with Mexico and Canada, the host said let’s talk about international. Isn’t it pent up mindset that Mexico and Canada are domestic affairs.
Happy 2025 from Brazil
So nobody is mentioning the Ronald Reagan Guest Worker policies and that undocumented people are here because of those policies and those policies had led to a well funded Social Security service for retired Americans. I guess we'll just all ignore that like Trump and his followers do. I would really appreciate that context added.
Ian Bremmer discusses top global risks for 2025, including Trump's return to power, US-China tensions, Russia's actions, AI development, and more. He explores geopolitical challenges in a 'G-Zero' world lacking global leadership, while noting some bright spots amid unprecedented risks.
Love Ian Bremmer, thank you!
When he started hallucinating about the "rule of law" under US hegemony that was it for me. Come on...
Yeahhhh u said it all thanks
THE WORLD IS TIRED OF USA

Try being without the USA, way worse
@@Barnaby33YTbut that’s the thing. There will not be a new boss.

With a hawkish mindset like Bremmer, peace is never a word in dictionary ?
Happy 2025, good luck to us all.😢
I thank you very much for helping me. He mentioned the English language
Oh Dear Lord ❤ ! !

What are Ian’s thoughts about “transactional” India’s role and future?
He's always so clear👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Please let us know if our world is going to end in 2025

Not sure I'm ready for the terrors to come.
Nobody is ready for anything once born. Don't worry, have a coffee and keep loving your circle of people ❤❤
What a complete schill
A couple of thing that Bremmer seems to underestimate 1) the pushback from the American people, when what he predicts will happen, starts to really effect them negatively 2) China's capacity and willingness to undermine the US ... and a point of fact, Macron is not in trouble in 2027 as he cannot run again ! The party he created might be reabsorbed into the traditional center of French politics but that's been happening for a while now anyway.
God I wish people would stop using the term human capital. We are not things to be owned that was slavery, we were supposed to have left that behind us over a centurie ago.
To be fair, the term refers to the part of a persons ability that can be applied to creating something that others are willing to pay for. It’s not saying that you or I are reducible to money. However, many of the people who use the term indeed are greedy manipulators or slave masters, as you say.
@@VintageSoloHarmony I somewhat agree... I think it's a term used to emphasize the importance of humans as something to be invested in. Too many people don't understand their business runs on their people first and foremost.
@VintageSoloHarmony capital: "wealth in the form of money or other assets owned by a person or organization or available or contributed for a particular purpose such as starting a company or investing." - I am not capital!
Agreed. “Employees” was a fine word in my book since it implies a consensual relationship between employer and employee.
Well, at least it's better than "human resources".
Good point, Ian, on how the media is learning to elicit responses from Trump. But also, as you point out, he cannot be cornered by such baiting; regardless of how he responds to their baiting, he remains unpredictable in his ultimate actions and goals.
The interviewer didn’t explain to the audience what he meant by Elon Musk attacking the UK government. Any ideas?
Gaza not in the whole video topic ?
Great sharing! Trade war if everyone goes against US Tariffs
Thank you 🙏🏼
Brilliant!
My hat off to Mr. Bremmer for the clarity and the scope (or the clarity considering the scope), and also to Ms. Walter for a thoughtful and focused interview.
I have watched a few clips of Ian in the past, on the pressing but temporal issues at the time, haven't followed him aside for those few occasions. I will now.
When I win the 2028 presidential election, Ian will be my pick for Secretary of State.
Como es posible que no mencionen el genocidio que Israel está cometiendo en Palestina
This man is too wary to mention Israel.
Chinese firms are logically seeking to avoid arbitrary tariffs by investing in Mex. Mex should NUANCE rather than NIX its Chinese investment to favor Mex labor, infra, & tech capacity interests.

Why not allow the World Court and the UN to take the lead by filtering countries wants/needs/disputes thru them ? For example, the UN and/or World Court can oversee the global rule of law, act as the go-too intermediaries for disputes between countries which could possibly help maintain/stabilize currency and global trade. I.e use the UN and World Court for strengthening the elements of world peace (secure borders, stabilize currencies, and the rules of law) **I know it is "baby steps"
Spot on about lack of global leadership from US but I think India and Modi is going to play that role in the next 5 years.
Does anybody doubt all these “ leaders “ will be hired by corporations as “ consultants “
Ian, you are not serious.
The 0'th order risk is the US, of which I am a passport holder. Trump is treading to take Panama, Canada and Greenland by force if necessary. So much for Rules based system, the US want others to follow.
China and Russia have been trying to end the rules based order and now Trump will do it for them. It seems like Ian doesn't care much as conflict is good for his business.
The world is headed for dark times.
The world (especially the Global South) through its attitude towards the Ukraine invasion has taught the US that rules based order is not important anymore.
A lot of commets from people in other countries concerned about Trump. Well over half of us in the US are concerned as well. Mistakes were made and unfortunately it'll have global consequences.
Somebody summarize this for us, please 🙌🏻
The Mexican President can see T's BS and isn't going to take any of it.

The USA really needs to pull out of the WTO and UNCLOS.
People need to calm down .. take a breathe, take joy in the moment and the people around them .. stop having so many children... Stop consuming and start caring for one another....
His recommendations for Mexico are the exact opposite of what Mexico needs to do. Appeasement, as history teaches, is a mistake.
🇨🇦 should match tariffs verbatim and then add huge export taxes on all energy, lumber, minerals, oil and gas.
And what would that solve making us poor and more poor? Donald Trump isn’t much of an invader, but he will break financially he is no different from what Putin does, but Putin uses his military. It was ridiculous to think that Ukraine was any match for Russia because allies out of money they run out of time people get fed up and their country is basically destroyed. That could happen to Canada, but financially speaking. More terrorist is not the answer.🇨🇦
Canada can’t, it’s a much smaller and much weaker economy
Screw "the economy". Enough. This is a stupid game.@@gbmoney8746
Donald Trump comes to mind
Europe should wake up.
Ian Bremmer has never heard of Poland, i.e., the real next force in Europe.
Really curious to see who’s right about Europe since I’ve heard a some very doom and gloom outlooks…
Wild that there are still people out there who take Bremmer seriously.
He's about as gullible as the average GoP voter.
What would you say instead?
All you have to do is fact check him. He’s generally pretty accurate.

You had me until you said Canada wants to divide the free trade agreement with Mexico. I think you took a sound bite and spoke as it was a fact. If you had done deeper research you would know that Canada wants a trilateral agreement. Now I can't have faith in any of your opinions.
Mr Ian, I had hoped to hear why (the facts) you believe that the thinks you share with us will happen this year so I can adjust of revise my opinion about the things that may happen this year globally.
For God's sake, don't tell me that our justice system and intelligence agencies are not politicised already. And don't forget the mainstream media.
We need a dig dose of reality before we get scared of what a president who was already in charge for four years might to (without Mike Pompeo and especially Mike Pence).
What. No Canada. Pathetic. One fleeting comment about a Conservative Party being elected. That was is this from a person so well versed in global affairs. Really.
