I have an elderly and lovely VW Phaeton that needs paint correction. This video was very informative. I have purchased all of the chemicals and machines necessary to do the job. All of the mechanical issues have been addressed. I had a very high end wax for the final coating but now I think I will go with ceramic after all of the paint correction is done. The car was made in the Bentley factory so the paint is very very hard. I am glad to hear that is the best paint to correct. Very educational, thank you!
Love the idea of a clean room. Just finished a compound and polish on my STI and having to clean the car after that process was a pain in the rear. I need a bigger garage...
VERY happy I watched and saw the clean room. Was quoted a price on a ceramic coating by a guy working out of a somewhat dirty, 2 car garage. NOT what I want! This video may have saved me some headaches.
Just got a new car this weekend and since you made this video I am now in the Chicagoland area. Thanks for doing this video! Always a challenge to vet a new detailed. These guys are pros.
My dream is to run a car detailing business. I did it for years and I still love cleaning cars. Just something about it I love. Maybe it's taking on the task the average person either doesn't have the time for or seeing the end product and watching someone drive off in a clean ride. Love this vid! The best to these guys
Watching from Australia and I must say this was a very interesting video and to see a car turned into a moving mirror is amazing. The cars look absolutely stunning. Jack standing there contemplating how to do a wheelie in the wash dock.
Just to let you guys know, As the owner of the shop says, Insurance will cover PPF and CC but ONLY if you let them know it's been installed to the car...Obv it gets added to your premium and tacked on to your yearly insurance cost. DO NOT expect your insurance company to fix your PPF or CC unless you notified them of installing it prior. They won't cover what they don't know about. It's the same for any modifications....Any insurance company will cover aftermarket products if they are destroyed in a wreck or by natural disaster only if you have notified them of installing these products prior to the incident (because they tack on that extra coverage to your premium)
Excellent video. This guy definitely knows his stuff. I have a local detailer here in Milwaukee who is mobile and does paint corrections, ceramic, etc. on a lot of high end cars. I had him do my M3 and was so happy with it I took my Audi to him the second I rolled it off the showroom floor, and same with my Civic Type R - the Honda paint is definitely soft. All the stuff this dude was saying on the video is what my detailer told me as well, and every spring season he does an iron x application as well. It's crazy to see how much comes off the car after winter when you are ceramic coated and do an iron x treatment. It's great to see a detailing company like this that has proper facilities and truly understands the value of prep - I have seen so many botched jobs and people get salty to the idea of coatings because they had a bad experience. But really what they had was a bad installer who didn't get all the existing wax off the car, etc. and the ceramic eventually flaked and cracked. I will definitely refer my Chicago-based friends to Chicago Auto Pros after seeing this video

Mobile detailing businesses are going big these days. There are even guys out here that pick up your car, drop it off, and give you a plate of food from their mother's cooking business (no joke) all for $50-$100 because they're brand new haha. You have to have a passion for it though
Cool to see how a large detailing operation works. I have my own detailing business and I do everything myself, it has its positives and negatives. I like that I have the quality control of not relying on anyone to do the job properly but I wish I could hire out the stuff I don't like to do. What he said about paint hardness is correct, I would have answered the same but also added that each paint job is different - even if it is the same year/make/model. There are also some paints that are "hard" but also scratch easily, although not quite as easily as "soft" paint.
Ceramic coating is great stuff although I'm going to try a sealant this time on my new car. The climate here is hot & humid which made it a bit more tricky for me as a novice to do the coating. I did end up with a little streaking in parts which is basically hidden on the white paint of my 86 but the new car is darker. If there was someone locally who could do the coating for me like these guys I probably would as it's worth it, mine has held up nearly 3 years now.
I have a UV-GT3RS that has 6-applications ceramic-pro/paint correction- it never gets dirty!! It is phenomenal product, i can see my face everywhere!! Mirror finish!! All my cars are ceramic coated !!! Screw clear bra !!
In the early 80s I had a little detail shop in Santa Barbara right out of High School. Always had more customers than time so a basic detail was $250.00. Drove by a place the other day and the sign said $99 full in/out detail. Seems like most businesses have really prostituted the pricing of what a shop can charge. In today's dollars that is about $540 vs $99.00.

@The TacomaKid Watch the whole video and then make an asshat out of yourself, lol
I wonder if that’s the same Vette featured in the video
Nice demo...and true pros at work
Savagegeese, the type of guy, sorry wrong channel.
Do NOT give Doug a reason to follow SG...lol
I gotta give this comment a dougscore of 8
I have a UV-GT3RS that has 6-applications ceramic-pro/paint correction- it never gets dirty!! It is phenomenal product, i can see my face everywhere!! Mirror finish!! All my cars are ceramic coated !!! Screw clear bra !!
The Geese the best in the business, TH-cam perfection needs no "correction". Thank you!
Nice work...............didn't know my Porsche Boxster was soft paint..........glad it's protected.
Heading to Chicago to get my ride done right! 👍
