I think SG has earned a reputation for not simply driving a car and giving an opinion. They put a lot of effort into learning the background behind it and giving exposure to the unsung heroes and workers behind the cars that led to their creation. They have an appreciation for the work just as much as the final result. And automakers see that.

This interview with the CEO was actually great. I was fully expecting a bunch of BS marketing speak from him, but this is a guy who really knows what he's talking about. Really cool. I bet his engineering team loves having a leader like him.
I dont drive an EV. Im not an engineer... Yet i loved every second of this video. These long form videos are so interesting and insightful. No one has done what you guys are doing, in any format. We appreciate what amounts to the "backstage access" of these companies and vehicles. Your hard work and dedication is second to none. You guys truly have created something unique here. Keep kicking ass boys!
I heard Cammisa talking about how much interior space there was, but seeing Jack in the third row, laughing with Mark is extremely demonstrative of what Peter is talking about when it comes to packaging! Wow.
The passion that Mark and Jack have for the automotive world is tangible in their work like no other journalists. The quality, content, and subjects of these videos are impeccable, and deserve recognition and appreciation far above what they get. Keep up the amazing work, guys.
I’m a manufacturing engineer in the auto industry, so titles like this always grab my attention. Before even watching the video, I’ll tell you. Modern vehicles have thousands of parts, and the more parts you have, the more likely it is that something will fail. So it takes a lot of engineering and manufacturing effort to make sure each of those thousands of parts is designed and fabricated properly so as not to fail, and a heavy dose of logistics and planning to make it all come together across several tiers of suppliers. And that part count only continues to go up as OEMs compete with each other, seek to please customers/the market, and follow ever stricter regulations. It’s honestly amazing that cars are made at all, let alone that they work well. And you somehow have to do it all at a price point that most people can actually afford the end product. It’s absolutely beautiful
My good God guys... You're just knocking out these monster productions lately! . Thank you to the Geese, their Partners (Nvidia etc) and the CEO and CTO of Lucid! . Hopefully this will cause Rivian etc to open up their doors to you 🙏
Thank you for all the hard work you do--your interview with Peter Rawlinson (coupled with all the other Lucid-related assessments you've done) was great. In fact, I wouldn't have pulled the trigger on the Lucid Air Pure (I just took delivery of a beautiful Stellar White version last week) without first seeking the advice, analyses and commentary proffered by you two fine gentlemen.
What a fascinating individual. His principles and lessons resonate so much with me as a (much smaller) business owner - the "whole design" approach (never losing sight of the big picture), the constant worrying or babysitting of every little aspect, the "how does this product improve the customer's life" (instead of "how do we list meaningless stats") product design & marketing strategy. Wonderful to listen to.
I can tell you having owned the Air Pure that it shows every bit in their product. Few leaders inspire me and get me to invest in a company and support their products. He's one of the few.
I jumped up when Peter Rawlinson discussed specialism vs generalism. In healthcare, this is a conversation I have a lot. A theme of the 20th century was to hyperspecialise while losing many roles for individuals who knew enough about lots of things to have strategic oversight. This is true in engineering, medicine and many other fields. In the third decade of the 21st century, we're just learning how to recover some of the lost art of the "jack of all trades" to mix the best of specialism with the best of generalism. To listen to Rawlinson just "get it" about a theme I've spent years discussing with others is very interesting. He's a gifted man.
As a generalist engineer, I tell people "I'm valuable to the companies who realize they need me, but a lot of companies don't realize they need me." I had no idea this "specialists only" thinking applied to other fields as well.
HUGE shoutout to you guys for bucking the trend and producing long-form deep-dive content like this. I know it's not necessarily as lucrative, but I genuinely appreciate you doing what you want to do because you're passionate about it. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and I hope this series gets the views it deserves.
I had a good amount of respect for both Savage Geese and Lucid before, but undertaking a series like this amplifies the amount of my respect and appreciation for both immensely. The amount of resources that both parties have dedicated to produce an inside look at a process few get to see is amazing. I hope a broad audience enjoys this content, but as an engineer especially it speaks to me.
THANKS A MILLION for this amazing content. As an automotive enthusiast, a PHEV owner, and as a business manager, this presses all of my buttons. It's an invaluable look at the state of the art in automotive engineering, how to lead a company, and how to pursue your passion.
Thank you for presenting an intelligent discussion on this topic. I own a Lucid Air Pure (after owning 3 other EV’s, including 2 Teslas) and am continually amazed by the tech, drive, and constant software improvements. I have great respect for Lucid and will look forward to future episodes.
I can’t believe it took me SO LONG to find this channel. You guys are incredible and the interview with Peter was so eye opening and informative. Really awesome being able to see behind the curtain. Thank you so much for doing what you do!
Cometh the moment, cometh the man: Peter is a true gear-head and a humble leader. I cannot think of a more appropriate vote of confidence than to buy a Gravity as my next vehicle.
Love the emphasis on value consciousness rather than cost consciousness that Peter described. Really glad to see this documentary series and to learn how Lucid is undertaking this work.
At 30:24 Rawlinson briefly mentions licensing their technology to other car companies. I think this is the most crucial factor in Lucid's long-term success in the global car market. Lucid has the best/most efficient electric motors and the best/most efficient battery packs in the industry. Much like they did with Aston Martin and now (maybe) with Genesis, they need to continue to pursue licensing their technology and selling to other car companies. For an established legacy car company, they would get the best battery and electric motors on the market without spending hundreds of millions of dollars in R&D to develop their own, and with something that can't compete with a Tesla anyways. For Lucid they would sell technology and components they already have without having to build factories, supply chains, brand, market, manufacture, and sell cars to consumers. It's a huge win-win for both. Lucid should pivot from being completely B2C to B2B, with a little bit of B2C.
I finally had time to watch this straight through last night--what a great video! Your interview with Rawlinson--the anti-Musk the EV industry (and corporations in general) needs---was outstanding, revealing and candid. I just wish I could afford a Lucid. Maybe some day... Can't wait for subsequent installments in this series. Savagegeese is the Lucid of automotive TH-camrs...a high compliment!
As an engineer, this was great. Fascinating to watch, Lucid is doing some amazing stuff and to see behind the scenes is super cool. Can’t wait for the rest of the series, great job guys!
I just got through the intro and ironically enough, at work today, I was day dreaming about snagging a preowned Air Pure in a year or so or finding a good lease. I thought to myself how I hoped you'd do a long form series on Lucid like you've done with Mazda and some other brands like Honda. Lo and behold, here we are.
I think this is the hardest I've seen Peter strain to think, you did a great job of having a really in depth casual conversation that got him into his thinking mode not just his media mode.
Superb. No one has ever done this in any medium. And boy do I have more respect for Peter Rawlinson. He put up with Musk, and he was doing 110-hour weeks in his 60’s?! Holy moly…..
I've always appreciated lucid for being so open about their engineering prowess. This is a very refreshing change from all the other manufacturers which hide behind corporate speak and not answer questions related to engineering. Lucid is very prod of their engineering and it shows in their products. The attention to detail they have and the passion shows too! I'd love to own a lucid air one day! This interview was fantastic. I hope there's another follow up episode with a factory tour and other interviews with the product teams to delve deeper into the manufacturing and engineering process.
Normally I'm here for the Top Gear/Grand Tour level humor but this is quite intriguing. I didn't think I've ever seen anyone touch on this before. Great work fellas!
Fascinating! I love the idea of a smaller Lucid-quality car with a 40kWh battery that could go 200km. In your introduction you mention marketing, and how true it is. We are starved for honesty in the products we buy. You've been banging that drum for years, and gradually you have broken through a lot of barriers with your channel. Nice work!
Thanks for a great interview. Peter will be remembered the same way Steve Jobs is, as a man who saw the future of a company and lead it there by sheer willpower and guts. I think Lucid will become the future Ford Motor Company of EV's and we as Americans are blessed that we have a country that attracts people like him.
Lol the same guy that can't bust a profit, sold 60 percent of his company to the Saudi government, and lied about the minimal work he did at Tesla? Lucid factories are last gen designs. And they recruit 2nd tier talent from top manufactures
Thank you for taking the time to create a series with this level of depth and detail. And thanks to Lucid for opening their doors to you, what an amazing company.
Awesome video! I like the fact that the commentators did what they do well, be auto nerds, not comedians. This was a very informative video in a way that nobody else is doing.
Amazing work gentlemen, thank you for this. I know there are a lot of people in your community who appreciate the level of insight you're able to gather from these folks, and I am really happy to see that you're getting the opportunities. Keep it up!
If I ever am in the position to get a Lucid, I will because of this video. It's refreshing to hear someone talking with passion for the one main thing they are working towards innovating and inventing for the better of mankind. Some of the greatest inventions of all time came from different industries with happy accidents in making or innovating something on an EV that can be used to help lives in the medical field. He is a smart man with a purpose that doesn't have a god complex.
Brilliant insight!! Please, please do a series like this with RJ at Rivian !! Both Lucid and Rivian need the population to understand how advanced these vehicles are
I've been a huge Lucid fan since the first time I experienced one a few years ago. I fully intend to get one in the next year or two. Rooting for them to do great!

Such unique, compelling long form content. Any engineer in any discipline that watches these videos will be inspired to go back to first principles, love their craft and create great products.
Great interview. I'm still hopeful that these guys (and Rivian) make it through the early stages and on to better days. I bought 98 shares of Lucid at $2.11 a few weeks ago, and it's at $2.40 now. It's not going to be Bitcoin, but it's nice to keep an eye on it.
Very insightful. Great questions. This interview really gives insight to his personal background and thought process. After this interview, I can totally see why he left Tesla & his differences to Elon.
I am genuinely rooting for this company. I'm over having an I.C.E as a family/daily driver. Lucid air is the only EV I genuinely admire. Great vid Mark & Jack. Looking forward to Wednesdays. 👍🏼
There’s a bit of Colin Chapman’s Simplify, then add lightness to this man’s philosophy that I feel should be elevated by the hosts. Instead of larger batteries, make them more energy dense and reduce losses. More efficiency drives weight loss, leading to more interior space & to a degree reducing cost. All touched on in the video, but it feels like Chapman at work in the modern age. Beautiful cars, I sat in one at the La Jolla Concours years ago and its interior was miles ahead of Tesla. I hope I get to drive one someday.
Superb and compelling interview. Congratulations on a very strong start to your new series. This will keep my returning to your channel. Mr Rawlinson's philosophy re. budgeting very enlightened. His final comment about not being distracted by politics even if someone else is - perfect note on which to end!
You guys are INCREDIBLE. This video is absolute top notch, better than what large production studios manage to put together with significantly better interviews and honest conversations with these very important people. You both truly set the standard for quality auto-related content, this is amazing.
All the hard questions asked in a respectable way where you can see Peter is relaxed offering his truthful opinion. Well done Savagegeese Team and Lucid Team.
Took an Air for a drive. Amazing car. Not just an amazing EV, but an excellent execution of a car. That said….The Q&A, demo and sales experience was among the worst I have ever experienced. They have a long way to go in that area. But the car, technology, build, and engineering are excellent and hard to compare to others. I’ll go back to look again when the sales and service experiences approach real world needs. You almost had me in one of your cars. Best wishes for more improvements and I’ll be back.
Brilliant, looking forward to the rest of this series. I have to admit seeing pictures of the Gravity when it was announced I didn't care. But now seeing the packaging of the car, as Peter said keeping the car as small on the outside as possible while being as big as possible on the inside is quite impressive.
Already want the gravity. This interview just makes me want it more and for lucid to not just succeed but set the standard. I have an ev and solar panels. Am completely bought in.
Geese, Your work here is not only refreshing but important. I appreciate demystifying what is happening with Lucid and allowing us to “look under the hood.” Due to who they are and what they stand for, when the Gravity is readily available we (my wife and I) will be supporting the company.
I think that having episodes about how the cars are produced and the engineering of the production line, is more interesting than the engineering of the car. Lots of companies have designed a car, but then failed to produce it. Like Lightyear, for example. They did all the engineering to make the most efficiënt EV, including functional prototypes, but it didn't matter. Production is the hard part.
Awesome quality. Thank you really for this awesome Interview. I really can just say that Peter is really right. The Lucid Air (the one I drove) has such awesome driving capabilities it really screams "I am a REAL Driver EV" just the OS from the software side lacks behind. I really think that if lucid can fix this it is really one of the best 3 cars on the market right now. Can't wait for the next episode.
I love that you are taken seriously by these guys. Great video.

Same here
Brilliant, looking forward to the rest of this series. I have to admit seeing pictures of the Gravity when it was announced I didn't care. But now seeing the packaging of the car, as Peter said keeping the car as small on the outside as possible while being as big as possible on the inside is quite impressive.
I listen to Elon speak and I feel dumber; I listen to Peter speak and I feel smarter
Already want the gravity. This interview just makes me want it more and for lucid to not just succeed but set the standard. I have an ev and solar panels. Am completely bought in.
This has to be one of the greatest car video teams on air anywhere. Thanks Mark and Jack and Chris! Bravo
Geese,
Your work here is not only refreshing but important. I appreciate demystifying what is happening with Lucid and allowing us to “look under the hood.” Due to who they are and what they stand for, when the Gravity is readily available we (my wife and I) will be supporting the company.
Amazing to see a british engineer showing some passionate feelings.
These videos are great. Thank you for going through the trouble to bring these in depth insights.
Really looking forward to the rest of this series. Rawlinson is so well-spoken and insightful.
Excellent video! Looking forward to the rest of this series!
Love all these in-depth engineering interviews!
This is a brilliant interview with a fascinating creator and leader. Love the unique content and perspectives you all bring on this channel.
Amazing interview! Always look forward to another one
This is going to be a sick series to watch. Only Savage geese could pull this off.
efficiency is king! great content guys.
Peter Rawlinson is a person from whom I'd feel good buying. Thank you!
Love Peter's ethos. Thanks for getting this great interview.
Great job, Jack! You're an excellent interviewer
These industry videos are just amazing. Very few content creators in the car space give these types of perspectives.
Fantastic video. You’re best work yet. He’s a CAR guy! Lea Iacocca for the electric set.
Just dropping by to say thank you, Mr Goose.
Honk!
