  • This goes into more depth on how I create a 5 point (or is it 4?) drawing, and the strategy I use to make it more dynamic. #perspective #curvedperspective #curvilinearperspective #wideangle #fisheye #povsketch

This breakdown is such an intuitive insight in the mastery shown by Kim Jiung Gi's perspective style, having it follow the rules but be unconventional in its approach.

Technically, you're still drawing 5-point perspective…your "viewport" is just zoomed into the bottom-most area of the grid, giving the illusion of parabolas extending upward to 4 points only. This is similar to how selfie cameras naturally produce a 5-point perspective, but often come with software that can toggle off the "fisheye" effect, which is essentially just zooming in to the center of the image and producing a 3-point perspective image more akin to a 35 mm camera lens.

I get bored in free period at school so once I randomly tried drawing how my eyes see the world. It was hard to express on the piece of paper. But u made it simple.

Hi Paul, how do you deal with non-grid oriented objects/rotated objects in 5 point perspective?. I´ve always considered this issue to be a pillar in the comprehension of 2 and 3-point perspective and it is quite hard to realize it in 5 point perspective it´ll be awesome to have a video about it

this seems to make more sense than drawing a sphere, can you explain why both horizontal vanishing points are visible, but only the bottom vertical vanishing point? or another way to say it, why the vertical vanishing points have more distance between them than the horizontal vanishing points?
