Beautiful blanket and you were very easy to follow. Im not a beginner but the only thing i knew how to do was granny squares and they werent perfect. I just started to pick up crochet again after several years so im trying new things and this was one. And again thanks for being a great teacher and taking the time and patient to go slow.
Excellent instruction - I've done the rectangle before, but couldn't remember how to start. No, I did not snooze through any of your tutorial, and yes, I have "hooked" right past a corner many times, so keep on reminding all of us!
You are a GREAT teacher. You may think that you're being repetitive but your repetition helped me learn how to do this stitch! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
Good morning, Bonnie, I have never, ever tried rectangle crochet 🧶 thank you 🙏 for precise explanation of how to do. You’re explanation is awesome 👏. I’m trying to work on a lap blanket for my daughter. Have a beautiful day. & crochet 🧶 on 😎
This was the first time making a rectangular baby blanket, it turned out really nice, your tutorial was very easy to follow so thank you and god bless you!❤️
I love the way you teach! I viewed some other videos to learn how to make the granny rectangle and found them very confusing. But with you it was so easy to understand and you go over it multiple times for us newbies..
Love the way you show how to add a new color and work the ends in all at the same time. Something I find very helpful. Great teaching video! Thank you for doing it.

Thanks for this tutorial, Bonnie. I started mine today with RH Ombré and an I hook. I’ve never done a rectangle afghan. You make it a breeze to understand!

I will be usung an N hook, which gives me a great drape. I wan.t to make a couoke if baby blankets, too. ❤❤😊
*ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 💝!* I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BLANKET PATTERN & I LOVE HOW YOU ENDED WITH THE BEAUTIFUL EDGING 💝! WE HAVE A GREAT, GREAT NIECE COMING NOV. 30TH & THIS IS PERFECT 💝😊!!! I ALSO LOVE THE TOP THAT YOU ARE WEARING 💝! YOU MAKE BEAUTIFUL CABLES, SO I'M SURE YOU MUST HAVE MADE IT 😊! YOU CAN'T BUY BEAUTIFUL TOPS LIKE THAT IN ANY STORE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING 😊💝!
How lovely Joan! Please send some of that lovely tropical weather my way if you can. We have snow here. Makes me really miss South Florida where I grew up!
Hi Bonnie from Tx....The Granny Square pattern has always been my go to if I needed something pretty and fast but sometimes would want it in rectangle form. Thank-you so much for this tutorial and now am making one.🤗 I have fallen in love with the yarn you are using....size 5 is perfect. You go girl ☺
What a lovely tutorial, I've taught myself to crochet , ( and I'm left handed) , but I'm having a few problems , one was joining a different colour into my work, I've watched lots of videos but they all go too fast for me , Then I found you, What a joy to watch your tutorials , I feel I can have a go at lots of different pattern , watching you makes me feel adventurous, thank you so much Bonnie Norma from England 😘
Thank you! I could never figure out how to slow down the speed of a video!!! (👵🏻) I really love your tutorials, and appreciate all the time and effort you put forth to make them so fabulous!!!
Bonnie, I just love the variation on the regular square granny by crocheting a rectangular one! You are a hellava great crocheter & teacher! I could sit by my laptop & watch you for hours, and you are never redundant ! As many times as I may watch a particular video I always pick up on something that I didn't notice the time before! I wish we lived near each other I would love to have you over for coffee and in an Italian household when you have coffee there is always plenty of cake to go with it!! You are a terrific teacher , God bless you & your family for sharing your knowledge & beautiful self with all of us , you are such a beautiful person both inside & outside ! Cant wait to get notice of your next video to add to my Bonnie Bay collection! :)
Donna Pezzano thank you for your extremely kind words! If you are ever in Gaithersburg, MD or at a conference, let’s get that coffee and cake ( although I may have a Diet Coke instead😊, never acquired the taste for coffee unfortunately). Many blessings to you!
I know this video was made 2yrs ago, but I'm hoping you can still give a count for starting chain. In case we want to make it shorter or longer. I love how well you explain everything. Thank you.
I LOVE THIS PATTERN, BONNIE! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a rectangular granny.......I’m making lapghans for nursing home/COVID and recovering COVID pts, with large print scripture cards tucked in! I’ve never used this type of yarn in my 45+ years of crocheting! (How boring I am! Lol lol lol!😅😂🤣😇) I once purchased “enough yarn” (you know how 5hat goes, ya always get 1-2 more skeins of the same lot number 🙄) needless to say, I spent too much money, but that wouldn’t have bothered me since it was for a gift..........IF I COULD HAVE ACTUALLY CROCHETED WITH THAT YARN!!!! 🤭😱 It was the very “fuzzy/furry” yarn, super soft, perfect for this brandy-new baby blanket I thought I was making. SOOO..... I could NOT find my stitches in between the “furry fuzz”! I became so frustrated, I gave the entire bag of yarn away (complete with warning label 😅😂) so I’m a bit wary of anything thicker etc. I know I don’t have to use this yarn, but it just looks SOOOOOO soft and comfy, and it doesn’t seem to split at all. So, come payday, I, going to get a few skeins and go for it......with Jesus at my side, of course! 🕊❤️🙏🙋♀️ THANK YOU AGAIN, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR WORK/MINISTRY, IN JESUS’S WONDERFUL NAME, AMEN. 🕊❤️🙋♀️😘🙏🌹
I have got to tell you I have been hurting for you I lost my inf for this blanket I got a new phone and for some reason this did not move over like it should have your my life thank you thank you
Great tutorial. You explained it well although you do go fast for a beginner who’s trying to follow along. The double crochet part is easy enough but maybe show us in slow motion when you are turning corners or doing something different other than the regular Stitch. I am going to try this very same pattern tonight!
Bonnie, as usual, you’ve delivered! BUT, I’m more interested in the beautiful sleeveless sweater you were wearing - is there a pattern? Kindly let me know. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks much. And may the Almighty God continue to shower you with blessings in abundance.
I love it ! Finally I got it ! But I still have a little issue with the corners . 3 single stitches when you close the round right? Thank you very much. Love the explanations
@@linnyhajnalka4393 Welcome to my channel! I am working on getting this uploaded to my Ravelry Page, but just haven't been able to yet. I hope to get this done soon.
I have plans to make this in blues for my teenage son. He is autistic and likes to put his toes through the large spaces of his afghans. I made a different design for him when he was 7. It finally had such a huge hole, I had to toss it. My question is, could I do an extended double crochet down to the chain below the current row, instead of a chain one, between clusters to fill in the spaces?
I'll actually be heading to SC to care for my mother-in-law in a couple of weeks. Would love to visit your country! I never had the time or money to even take a cruise when living in Florida. Maybe it is time?
Bonnie, do you ever do this like the easy granny square where you add the extra cluster so you can just continue on without having to connect each row?

You can add multiples of 4 to the original starting chain Linda.
@BonnieBayCrochet Thank you so much I would like to try a queen size
@@lindayarwood551 Just be careful to not make this longer. It will not increase the width proportion. You may actually need a shorter chain since the queen sized bed is wider.
