    I just finished this baby blanket. It was so fast and easy. Thank you. I even used the coral yarn you used. It was given to my Grandson's girlfriend for her brother and sis in laws new baby. I picked the blanket when I saw the color. It is my G-sons girl friend favorite color. I told her the parents can use the other 2 I made for them but this one is for you to use when you babysit, lol.

    I've been crocheting for a few years now. A friend got me started and I have books that show the basics. My first project was a ripple Afghan, and for about 30 years that's all I could do. About a year or so ago another friend showed me how to do a Granny Square. I love the videos. They are very helpful and I am so excited to learn something new. Thank you for making these videos and making the instructions easy to follow.

    Hi Bonnie, thanks so much for your lessons. I am wanting to know weather I can use pure wool for the blanket projects. I live in New Zealand and we have a great wool selection. If so, is there any variation on what size and weight in yarn that I should get. Or do I simple swap it out, I hope this makes sense, kind regards

    • @BonnieBayCrochet

    Your tutorials are superb! To the point , your voice , your instruction, the angle of your camera , I enjoy all of them . I have been crocheting for many years , and know OF this stitch but never used it . I am kicking myself... I love this stitch and it works up fast . I am using same yarn red heart ombré in the teal colorway I have always loved the way this yarn works up as far as the color, however I don't love the feel of it ...uggghh ... but I went ahead and used it for this project hoping that maybe after a wash or two it will soften . I've yet to find another brand of yarn that has this same colorway effect . I have a question that is out of the blue ... many times I will find a yarn I love and would like to purchase it for my stash , but at the time may not have a clue of what Project I would use it for so with that in mind , is there some "rule of thumb" or suggestion on how much would be a good yardage/grams to purchase ? I'd rather buy more than not have enough then to not be able to find that yarn again . Thanks again for all your hard work and passion .

    • @BonnieBayCrochet
      @BonnieBayCrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your kind encouragement Dawn! As far as your yarn purchase questions goes, the range of yardage is pretty wide open. For scarves & shawls (fingering weight) I generally like to have 1200 yds for designing. For throws 4,000 - 5000 yards, and sweaters, ponchos & stoles vary, but generally speaking 2500 to 3000 yds, depending upon the design. I usually seek out the yarn after an idea has come to mind. I'm not that designer who has a wall of yarn in the studio. I care for my stash carefully (away from excessive light and pests) and give away yarn I know I'll not likely be using.

      @@dawnamendola8690 I so know what you mean! Meeting new yarn like this has often inspired new designs. It's always a step of faith when making purchases like this. I still have a bunch of yarn from the London Loop that's waiting for a design!

    Bonnie, such a beautiful blanket..thank you for making it so easy to follow. Can you please tell me what brand of crochet hook you are using??

      Sure Sue, I like to use Susan Bates Soft hooks. I have a link in the video description. Handles are great but not really “soft” though.😊❤️

    Hi I love the pattern just one question is those to stitch in the same stitch or each as there own like one single crochet chain 2 then the next stitch you make a other single crochet then skip 2. Or both in the same one thanks 😊

    • @BonnieBayCrochet
      @BonnieBayCrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, single crochet, chain 2, single crochet, all worked in the same stitch.

    Question would it look odd if I made it a little longer instead of 30 inches long but still kept 30 inches wide???

      I stumbled on your channel and have already learned something very helpful! Just last night I started a poncho and my first row is curling....use a larger hook for the chain! Yay. I am teaching 6 grandkids to crochet and I had no idea the online resources! I have the disease OCD..obsessive crochet disorder and just keep learning somethkng new in this wonderful craft! I did a Skype grannyvsquare lesson with an eager granddaughter! And I love the crochet community in this very stressful time. Thank you Bonnie....from another Bonnie in Canada (grandma to 23!)

      You can add multiples of 3 to the starting chain Lisa.

    I love the pattern and want to make this but for my queen size bed, could someone help me figure out the length that I need for the base chain? Thanks

      You can add multiples of 3 to the original starting chain. The exact number depends upon 3 variables: yarn choice, your crocheting style (gauge), hook size, etc.
