OMG, the foundation chain plus the first row of single crochet makes so much sense! It stabilizes the center and makes it easier to continue with the granny stitches. I'm so glad I found this video.
The first color you did a chain 2 to form your corner spaces. The second color you did a chain 2 forming that first corner but from then on you were using a chain 3 when making your corner spaces. So which should it be when making the corners: a chain 2 or a chain 3 ?
Thank you for sharing, I'm new to crochet 😊 and found this tutorial easy to follow and not complicated thank you again looking forward to finishing the blanket ❤ x
Such a lovely pattern. How do we proceed from row to row if we are using variegated yarn and not cutting off after each row? Would you just slip stich to the first corner space and continue the pattern? Thank you
At 9:57 you say chain 3 for a corner but I thought it was always chain two for a corner. In the corner right before that you said chain 2 is why I’m confused
I have tried granny square so many times, but this is far the easiest way of explaining on how to start the foundation. This is my next blanket/bedsheet coming really soon! Thank you!
OMG WHERR HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE 😊😊😅😅 I was taught crochet as a child left it didnt pick it up again until my 20s thrn I had my babies and I had no time between work and family. Now I am a grandma and I managed to make each of my grandbabies a lil balnket when they were born but I didn't have a clue what tension, or the weight of the in yarn or a stitch marker. That was all Greek to me. Well tutorials have been my teachers and let's say I would probably get a c right about now if I graded myself BUT I am hopeful. I followed you along with the tutorial and on h my word I did it first try! WOO HOO HUGS❤. I am ready to start the next row but I am using a variegated yarn and now I am going to cut it so I can flip my piece cause I sure don't. want it crooked. 😊. So in case I have a melt down know that your a great teacher and I'm keep up the great work. I will be back as Arnold Schwarzenegger would say 😅 I know I am a nut a happy one though 😊

hi..lovely video.. i have a question though.. if i want to make a granny stitch for a rectangle table of size 48 x 36 inches.,., so for this size what would you recommend my 1st foundation chain row stiches number to be?
What do we do once we finish the first color, how do we "tie" it off? I'm totally new to crocheting so I'm not sure how to tie off the first color and "add" in that second color? If that makes sense...
How to fasten off/finish your row: th-cam.com/video/IQUm3sPJSNE/w-d-xo.html, Then make a Slip Knot: th-cam.com/video/oS1H7ckM2CA/w-d-xo.html - with your new color/row bring it through any space/ST you want to start at. Hope this helps! ☺️💕
Do you think this would still be okay with a thicker yarn? I'm a bit worried of it coming out too big if I were to-- perhaps I could just do a shorter starting chain, but I'm really not sure 😅
I would still Fasten Off my row, flip my blanket over and start row 3 with the same color. It helps to keep you rectangle straight and eliminate any seams in your work. Hope this helps! 💖
Thank you for sharing this awesome pattern! I am a beginner who's only made amigurumi so far and I'm lost on how you attached the second color at 7:05. Do you have a video that explains it, or could you explain here? Thank you so much :)
