DW has taken making Drums to a new level. Mick Fleetwood is one of my favourite drummers of all time. The drums looked beautiful and sound great. Thanks for sharing the collaboration and process with us.

Mick is totally taking the piss out of this whole event. I love it. As I think he is sincere in appreciating the process of drum making, he couldn't care less about the technicalities and details of these drums. His entire career is based off his FEEL for playing drums and what is appropriate for the song. I am a carpenter, a drummer and a DW drum kit owner and even still, some of this seems ridiculous in relation to the pure emotion that Mick can evoke in his playing.

Mike Fleetwood is such an under appreciated drummer. He is such a master of playing within the song to support the music. He doesn't put on a gymnastics exhibition he just plays great grooves with tons of feel.

I remember reading a coment a fan posted in one of your videos saying it would be great to record a whole drum kit being made for a famous drummer, and now you gave us this video. I want to congratulate you for being such a great company, for caring so much for your clients, and pouring so much love in every single thing you guys do, you're without a dubt one of the best companys in the world. May god keep bleesing you, and keep up the great work you already do.

Man!! What an awesome video!! I've been such a huge fan of DW and videos like these make me more and more of a fan. Just seeing all the detail and thought that Mr. Good puts into making every single kit is incredible. I just recently received my Collectors kit and I cannot tell you enough how awesome this kit is. I long for the day that I will be able to order an exotic kit. It would be awesome to sit down and discuss the construction of it with Mr. Good himself. One can only dream...

DW you guys are a class act! The fact you take the time to very kindly monitor and reply to people's comments, is something that I appreciate and regard highly! That's also a smart business move, as I feel more compelled to deal with a company that shows consideration as such.

I love this musician's approach from Mick...He has that exponent of hearing what his audience looks for in sound appreciation. And for DW to accommodate that is phenomenal. I just got an old Chinese model set for free and there is no comparison to DW's made and look. So, I can appreciate a great sound from the drum characteristic's in the type of wood and granulation application that is renown
..."OUTSTANDING"...Now I know which drums to want for Christmas...

Very nice to see and hear what comes from tested and re-tested physical results. That is, as opposed to just phoning it in and tweaking it in post-production with pro-tools on a computer. Keep it honest with the right materials combined with hard-tested honest talent. Mick Fleetwood seems to know and honour that art + science. Good on ya mate. P.S. So sorry and RIP Christine McVie.

  • @GunnarJ214
    @GunnarJ214 11 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Well, keep in mind the work they put into those drums. They go through and match the drum shells by note, hand paint the shells, and tune them before they send them out. That's not even the half of it. These aren't made in some foreign country overseas. They're made right here in America. That's something to be immensely proud of. The custom series aren't for everyone. That's okay. That's why DW is putting out other series like the performance and design series.

You are amazing Mirkko! Sounds like an original idea but the Edge rings are darn heavy and would prove tough to mount. Although we are confident we have mounts or snare stands that could handle the weight. The sound has proven not up to par through R&D also. Thanks for asking!

Another amazing accomplishment by JG and DW Drums. I love these videos. The craftsmanship, beauty, and connoisseur qualities so meticulously integrated into such gorgeous and precise musical instruments overwhelms me each time I view these clips. The full, deep, and warm pitch they harvest from this cherry engulfs the very soul. I so wish I could afford such a kit. Yes - I have imagined "being the one" lucky enough to sit down with Mr. Good for that life-changing journey. But then I wake up ... and tell myself how my Performance kit is STILL very nice.

This video helped me to decide upon purchasing an amazing 8x14 cherry HVLT 13 ply at Dale's Drums. John Good hand-signed the drum so perhaps it was a prototype. Anyway, the drum has the fattest backbeat I've ever heard. Such body and it doesn't hurt that it's drop dead gorgeous.

There were a couple of tiny scratches on the bass drum and floor tom, but other than that they were barely played. Love me some Tama's tho.

Absolutely beautiful kit!!! The cherry wood drums sound amazing, warm and dark rich tones. The Gold hardware is striking and makes the kits shine. DW technology and passion for amazing sound definitely comes through. Mick is a brilliant drummer, this year with Dreams being rediscovered showed exactly his excellent time, metronome perfection on that song. Even the Roland logo is gold on Mick’s pd-7 rubber pads, nice touch.

Mick @ 12:50 13:25 makes those drums sound the way DRUMS should. He mentions Bonham, and I always use the Bonham, Royal Albert Hall solo drum sound as the paradigm. Mick's one of those drummers that you can hear a few notes and know immediately, IT'S HIM.

yeah...that was until we saw what TH-cam's compression did :-/
Made some really strong interlace-looking artifacts on some transitions and speed-manipulated clips.

But John Good himself wanted to make sure we put it in the vid to use premium speakers or headphones ;)

Thanks for the comment. I hope you don't misunderstand my point. I currently on 6 kits from the big 5. I play them on tour, in my local bar and in the studio. Alls I saying is all of this talk about sonic this and tambre that is marketing. When you pay $3000 min for a kit....all of them sound good but the sound is lost on production and micing in a 20K seat venue or a tech happy engineer. I love my DW kit but my Custom built Kit sound just as good and so does my vintage Ludwig.
