There’s no connection in the narrative, it’s simply a possibility that the training helmets MIGHT be made of the same material since it would offer a beginner in lightsaber combat some protection.

the cortosis being welded is an interesting point because we’ve seen in the thrawn books (the cannon ones) that they also absorb blaster bolts so we can assume it’s not just kyber. my thought is that there was some sort of solder used we didn’t see and that those cracks then would then become weak points unless the metal was either melted down or reforged.
also the note about the younglings helmets i don’t believe he was eluding that the younglings helmets were cortosis as much and he meant that it deprived the user of their vision thus making them reliant of the force to guide them.
The fact that this videos is basically just as long as the actual episode is honestly my biggest complaint about star wars. I just watched a whole hour episode of the boys right before watching the acolyte, and I just feel like all the star wars shows just end to quickly
Something I want to point out. He turned off his lightsaber but not in combat. In the scene where he kills Jecki it looks more like his arm moved quickly and using the shorter blade just pulled it out and quickly stabbed her 3 times. None of it really feels like Trikata. Which tends to be used more offensively to switch off in a strike so when they go to block it throws them off balance and you can re-ignite on them. Just a thought.
Manny Jacinto deserves to headline a blockbuster film…. He’s got acting chops and the muscular chops… not to mention that Superman jawline mmmhmmmmhmmm…

Sol and Qmir acting has been great. Vernestra is an interesting character but the actresses doesn't sell it.... Which does impact the series
