    Your review is spot on! Especially the numbers. Im in Los Angeles and I went E85 on my ‘11 F-150 5.0, MPGs went down from 15.5 to 12, but at $2.99 (around October 2021) vs $4.19 for Costco 87 was worth it. I got my E85 kit for my ‘14 Charger 3.6 and MPGs went down from 20 to 16 but still saving money with E85 being $3.59 and Costco 87 at $5.39 as of now May 2022. The eFlex kit was not as plug and play as the APE kit as I had to cut, clamp, and fit my new fuel line, and insert the electrical prongs into the connectors after checking polarity (and the connectors getting stuck) but I made it work. They also gave me a 10% discount so instead of paying $699, I paid $629 OTD. With rising fuel prices the kit will pay itself off in about 10k miles if prices remain the same. There has to be a price difference of at least 20% to save on fuel costs. Great video!

      Thanks for the info! I have an eFlexFuel kit on my Lexus and the APE on my 300C. I think the APE is definitely better but my eFlexFuel kit is 4 years old now I think their new kits are nicer.

    I had a 2006 Charger R/T Road and Track 5.7. It did 5.9 0-60 14.1 1/4 mi. on mid grade unleaded. Why is your 300 so slow?

  • @silentagony1019

    The only thing that makes me afraid to stay on e85 is uncertain times when e85 becomes completely unavailable due to a corn and crop shortage. You have to remember outside factors come into play with e85. Gasoline for now will always be used and is widely used that doesn’t use crop. E85 has an environmental recipe to be created so bad quality of corn crops can effect the percentage of e85 thus causing knock and detonation. Another factor is that e85 is not widely known through some areas with less crop areas. Your limited to the gas stations your able to use and can’t just go to any gas in to fill up. You need to plan what gas station has your fuel. So far I love it but just those reason make me fear of fully converting to e85

    • @Turboactive
      @Turboactive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's why I use Flex Fuel. Can use gas or E85 or anything in between. You can also make your own ethanol from food and plant waste.

    • @MattySRT
      @MattySRT ปีที่แล้ว

      just to clarify your comment...E85 isnt bound by quality. Ethanol/alcohol is going to be what it is. When its made its the same content for the most part as the whole process of creating alcohol/ethanol is pretty much pure. The percentage of E85 isn't determined by the crop, but by the mixing plant that decides how much gas to mix in with the ethanol. SO in this video he said his station only does 65% Ethanol. Thats cuz he said hes in Colorado state , so during colder months they will lower the Ethanol content and add more gasoline so the car can cold start better. Its not that its bad quality but just what the mix happens to be at the time. Where I live my Ethanol content is 83-85% all the time cuz im in the desert and dont need to worry about super cold starts. We dont grow corn here in Southern Califoria but we have lots of E85 now. However you are correct about potential crop shortages possibly having an issue if there were to be one.

      @@MattySRT we have stations that sell full 85% also, just Kum and Go sells 65% for whatever reason. I've even filled up and gotten 90% at one Alta station.

    • @MattySRT
      @MattySRT ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Turboactive good to know... Kum and go must charge more then for their E85 as gas prices go up cuz of oil prices and if theres more gas than ethanol in the mix then that increases cost. 90% seems almost too good to be true as per gov regs its not supposed to be more than 83% technically. My station is right at 84% everytime I fill up. The more ethanol in the mix the leaner it gets and the less it costs but that also means more octane over the base 105 rating

    • @Turboactive
      @Turboactive  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MattySRT actually Kum and Go is usually the cheapest. Also my dyno tuner said it's ideal because you get better MPG than the higher concentrations but the power potential and knock resistance is still great. You start to get diminishing returns with higher concentrations of ethanol unless you have a really crazy engine.

    E85 is cheaper than gasoline because it burns quicker it doesn’t last as long. It’s more efficient and stuff yeah but it burns off quicker than gasoline. what is e85 you’ll get 6 miles less to the gallon.
