I started strength training and a little bit of running for fat loss again recently. I'm kind of an idiot and a little bit too ambitious for my own good, so I got a pair of barefoot shoes. Really sore calves for a bit, but got used to it. 40 years old, currently at 212 lbs (~29% body fat), and about 12:30 mile. I had a sub 9 min a few years ago, looking forward to get back and better.

That's awesome, you will get there sooner than you think! One tip for sore calves is to strengthen the muscle around them (shins and calves both)

@jxssfit yeah, my calves got better pretty fast, just sore all over for a little bit after waking up now 🤣
