Story :-
OP is engaged to a rich man. Her mom and sister are very close, and have
always left her out. Her sister constantly flirts with op’s fiance. When wedding dress shopping, OP’s sister decides to try on a dress, and OP’s mother comments that she looks worthy of the price, but OP doesn’t. OP loses it and leaves. OP meets up with her mom and sister for breakfast, and her mother tries to convince her to leave her fiance to let her sister have him. OP is shocked. Later, OP discovers that her mom and sister have come up with a scheme to make OP think her fiance is cheating on her in the hopes she will dump him. OP cuts off her mother and sister, and tells her father what happened, and he talks to them.

I'm sorry, but I was mad at OP as well for not talking to her fiance Tom about what happened at the dress fitting AND breakfast where mom asked OP to let her sister have him. If OP wants this to work, she needs to be better at communicating with her love. Staying quiet is not always best. She was too much of a doormat. Finally she went to her dad. I am glad she is leaving them out of her wedding.

I swear some of the OP's in these stories deserve all of the stuff they get! I get it, abused people hold on the tightest to their abusers. But once you realize the situation AND you and you still stick around, I have no empathy for you. I think there was a typo, and instead of dead old dad, they may have meant DEAR old dad. Maybe?

Poor OP........... she did NOT deserve to have such a nasty mom and sister like that. Good for her for cutting ties with both of them and uninviting them from her wedding. Kudos to OP's dad too. It's a shame that he was barred from his daughters. Things could've been MUCH better if he was the one who had custody. And I applaud her future husband for being loyal. Too late now, but if I was OP's dad, I would be very disappointed in her for making no effort as an older teen to come live with me. Her choosing to stay with her neglectful Mom and sister just doesn't compute.
Tom sounds absolutely amazing. He is sweet, caring, and just an awesome dude. That being said I kind of wish he would have straight-up told OP's sister at the fake date that hell would freeze over and become an ice rink before he would ever want her. With the mom hiding nearby she naturally would have heard it too and it would have set them both straight to the fact that Tom was not going to be 'given over' to OP's sister. From there Tom should have just up and left. This way the mom and sister would both know they stood no chance in hell. Currently, though I do worry they might try something at OP's wedding. I hope they have security and have not given ANY details about the wedding for the mom and sister to go on.
This doormat just allowed herself to be treated like crap, the bridal attendant is an AH for changing her focus away from the person who had the appointment, the bride to be.. Instead of going NC with those 2 toxic people is beyond me.. Everything she's complaining about with her mom and sister, she brought it on herself...

I agree with you. OP should've put her foot down sooner, but then I remembered that she was a doormat/wallflower because her mom and sister had essentially made her that way. I bet a lot of doormats like OP have tried to stand up for themselves before, but then they'd be bullied, gaslit and manipulated back into line until it gets to the point where they figure no one's going to stand up for me, everyone's going to say I'm the problem, so why should I even bother?

I’m completely disgusted with OP’s mother & sister’s behaviour. As the story went their behaviour got worse & worse but they never even clued into the fact that everything that they tried only made Tom dislike them both more & more disgusted with every attempt to “win” him away from OP & towards to sister instead. I was laughing my head off towards their despicable behaviour only getting them further & further in the opposite direction with Tom instead. Just by their ridiculous attempt to seduce Tom cumulating with the “date” of sister & Tom by mother tricking him into meeting sister for an intimate dinner for two was the last straw for both OP & Tom, resulting in OP going to her father & bringing him up to date with their actions. After OP got the picture that her mother took of her sister & Tom together at the “date”, Father was not happy, to put it mildly, with them & so he had a “talk” with both his ex wife & their eldest daughter.
I guess that mother & sister got even more than they could ever even have imagined in the totally opposite direction than they had expected to have gotten, they wound up losing out of so many things that they could have been offered to help make their lives so much better that they were at the time before OP & Tom got married. In some ways they got just what they deserved but, in a small way, I do feel sorry for them. Sister having to actually go out & get a real job was rather amusing to me.
The icing on the cake, for OP will be when her mother and sister find OP's original post on reddit or sees this video on YT. ... The mother realizes OP *knew* about the little scheme with the photo before mother even sent the picture. Moreover, when she reads/watches the part OP says that they could have helped her financially.

Most of the problem with story 1 OP is that she has put up with the mother and sister’s behavior for years instead of dealing with their narcissistic mentalities when they first emerged years ago. Instead of dealing with them, she let the problem grow unchallenged for years until the problem got huge. Now she has to deal with the huge problem they have become. Years of not putting them in their place has earned OP this big problem, and the “family” is not used to OP now trying to stick up for herself.
If you don’t nip this type of crap in the bud, it will always grow to become a horrible problem in the future, causing issues like this story.

I like reddit drama's but this story has too many holes. First of all, she said that Dad left the family without a word and abandoned his favorite daughter behind. Secondly, she said dad passed away.
Third hole, dad reappeared suddenly and told of mom's infidelity.
That was too much for me.
Hmmmm. Wealthy, good-looking, romantic, considerate of his parents, and his soon to be wife, compassionate that they are not getting along with her sister, and mother. But he is reasonable enough to agree with his Now and wife that going no contact is the best. He is definitely the whole package.
