Don’t get this thing about Bailey needing a ‘big season’ had his best ever season last campaign with 25 goal contributions in all comps, 19 of which were in the league
exactly Bailey already had his big season and has made massive progress under emery (the same way watkins has) and came into his own when he became the preferred on the right over diaby towards the end of last season. plus the loss of luiz seems to have been overblown by pretty much everyone so far to be honest. it is a big loss on paper and its unfortunate that it had to happen, but onana has been excellent so far and tielemans really stepped up at the end of last season while luiz had an awful patch of form.
Obviously not just this video, it's the same everywhere but I do feel the "analysis" around Chelsea is pretty lazy right now. Even that chart that supposedly shows all the players has players that have either left the club permanently or on loan and also includes youth team players, which I haven't seen for any other club.
I think tbh if you ask most Spurs fans, they will agree that we won the window on the sheer amount of players and the huge amount of wages we have got rid of.

Nah I would give us about a 7/10 at best in this window to be honest... and I would say I'm optimistic among spurs fans!
We've sold very well and I like the signings, but I believe we've possibly gambled too much on long term prospects at the expense of this season and we've not addressed the defensive depth issues at all yet.
That being said, Gray and Bergvall seem like an obvious improvement in Skipp and Hojbjerg. Odobert and Yang feel like a better profile fits for our system than any of our current wingers. Maybe it's got potential to be more like an 8-9 out of 10 for the long term.
I'm concerned Solanke might be the right player at the wrong time. Getting a striker for this system without the technical wingers is a huge oversight in my opinion. We've got 70% of the ball some games and all of our wingers over 20.yesrs old are better for counter attacking.

With Tottenham I think you miss the point player sales are just about clearing deadwood at this point if you offload lo celso reguilon and you clear space for the young players and academy products
Spurs fan here as well but think his assessment is fair enough. Don’t disagree with anything you said but there is a risk with the young players. I know there is a risk with all players but I’d argue less so with some with more stats/seasons under their belt. I am excited though

Brighton for sure win the transfer. They rarely bring in bad players & they’ve actually went out & spent some big money. They wouldn’t do that unless they were sure the player was an asset. Love the structure they’ve built there for talent & im a Mag!!

With West Ham they have bought older in some but also younger in other areas. Summerville 22, Todibo 24, Guillherme 18, and you will still get at least 5/6 years out of Kilman and Wan Bissaka. A good mixture of old and young I would say

This summer for United sales has been great when you put it comparatively to previous summers. We’ve been horrendous selling club and meanwhile we made 60m this window
Brighton are still going to spend bucket loads yet in this window = 200 mil spend.

Ugarte can’t play as a lone 6 so he *has* to be used to correctly.
Maguire has gone from our joint 2nd choice CB with Varane due to injuries to 4th choice after Varane has left. Zirkzee is a different type of forward profile to anything we have and gives us flexibility.
Desperately need to sort LB and Ugarte still hasn’t signed but it’s a good window and we’ve not overpaid for anyone. I like it.
26m for Undav isn't that much imo. He was great for Stuttgart last season and with Guirassy gone, he will likely be their main striker. If it was the other way around with Suttgart selling him to a prem team after the season he had, they could easily get close to 40m.

moreno was exceptional the season we bought him and integral to our push into Europe having been 17th when emre took over we hit that 2 points a game form right from teh start and with moreno coming in at christmas we started to play better and better football , in that season he was our best attacking player getting to the by line time after time to pull it back for a chance but he is not a solid defender just decent enough , so after his injury he is still fast but has lost the burst of pace he had and probably confidence with, he is not getting past the opposition full back he is just not was good as he was or as good as the rejuvenated Lucas Digne, still a very decent player with the skill and guile to get out of a tight corner with teh ball when others would have been closed down
Bloody Villa fans making a lot of noise as always, but there is only on winner here, Brighton and Hove Albion FC.

On Alex Moreno, the villa fans love him, he's great but he got injured at the end of 22/23 season which basically kept him out 90% 23/24 season and he couldn't get a rhythm going so digne basically played alllll of last season. We now have 3 LBs, digne maatsen and Moreno. Digne earned his place in a big season ahead and maatsen is the future of that position. That's all

as a newcastle fan: i think for now standing still is very fair, if the move for guehi or the rumored moves for chalobah or torres go ahead then i think theres a very good argument for somethings happening but as it stands who knows who we're gonna actually bring in this summer

Now we've got Igor Thiago, Fabio Carvalho, Sepp Van Den Berg and then Gustavo Nunes, we could easily be in "good but is it good". Ideally we needed a full back like you said to cover us if we get those injuries
Not even close to a Brentford supporter, but I totally disagree and like what they’ve done. Carvalho is a great signing and they have talked about Janelt or Dasilva stepping in at LB if need be. The Toney situation is the only thing holding them back

Really gutted that Moreno has gone on loan. He was so good when he came in but injuries hampered last season for him. Forest are getting a really forward thinking left back and I think he'll do really well for them.

With Spurs
Selling: We got rid of a lot of deadwood's & high wages in the club which is very needed. We could still get rid of Solomon, Lo Celso, Reguilon, Davies & Forster/Whiteman. 8/10
Buying: I don't think we did too bad wirh bringing in players but we're currently lacking on good wingers, a physical 6 & LB/LCB. I can't see those signings happen until next summer. 5/10

Disagree. Ugarte can’t play as a lone 6 in my opinion so we HAVE to use him correctly otherwise he’s just going to get passed around - plus he’s not officially signed yet.
We desperately need a LB because it’s hurting us going forward down the left and playing at least one player out of position in every game.
Have we overpaid for anyone? No not really. But we’ve not really got any ‘steals’ either. Our benchmark as fans has been the disasters of the last 10 years so it feels a lot better than it appears to others. We’re going in the right direction but we’re still a way off the top.

Re Ugarte, im portuguese, i know the player really well and im telling you right now, he´s gonna have the same effect that Martinez had, in a month the entire fanbase is gonna be in love with him, he´s a defensive monster that forced Amorim to bench Palhinha because of how good he is, Ugarte is the reason Palhinha only cost Fulham 20M quid, wich is insane, he and Mainoo are a perfect pair.
We’ve moved on a lot of players (and better than we have sold previously) and gotten huge wages off the books
Add in the players and positional needs being coherent in our signings, with looks of at least a 6 coming in and moving on a few others. We defo should be in contention for winning the window.
There's a reason De Ligt couldn't get a game for Bayern and Juvetus, Zirkzee is unproven, you should never spend that much for an 18 year old his career is already ruined, Ugarte isn't going. Its really not that stunning, just big names

It's not about one signing is it. It's about the overall picture of the transfers in and out, how it improves the quality and integrity of the squad. Your squad is too big on paper to integrate. Almost every signing you've made is potentially a fail. Good luck though.

@@MrDddrrrggg It's the long term contracts that really worry me. If players heavily flop, or get huge injury issues, then you're stuck with them.
I think the adaptation period of having so many players come in as well as trying to shift players out is going to be big and it will be interesting to see how Chelsea cope.
@@Bobby_sprinkles Long contracts are for loopholes which have allowed Chelsea to sign many players and spread the cost throughout the length of their contracts. Also the wages are relatively low at Chelsea, so the players usually leave looking for minutes and get similar wages elsewhere.

This ugarte videos isn’t out yet, but I’m gonna take a stab at it because I think I may have similar concerns. I’d crudely compare ugarte to Fred. You could call him Fred 2.0. Hi energy, very involved. But is his positional aware enough to be that individual 6? I don’t see it. What man utd has to do imo is get Mainoo way more involved in the build up. He has the progressive ability and awareness on the ball, and right now it’s the role we need him to take up. Get him on the ball as much as possible in the middle and have ugarte being the defensive coverage. But another worry is that ugarte is more interested in a high press. Kinda like mount. I worry he’s just another 8.
Tripp’s wants to go, he knows he’s now 2nd choice to Tino. He wants 1st team football & good on him he’s served the club well

Striker i get regarding watkins if he getsinjured but duran does come off the bench and bags a few. However i feel we have strengthened the bench which is a big help for us. In terms of the starting 11 weve stayed still but its a top 4 11 so im not overly worried. Would have been nice to keep dougie but thats life, wish him well

You don't have to always make signings to improve as a team. Newcastle have a decent amount of young talents that could all have their best career years. Isak, Gordon, Hall, Botman, Livramento, Tonali, Miley.
Anderson for Tonali is at least one direct upgrade in the squad.
Thing with a lot of sales for united, with the young players, they all have 40-45% sell on clauses. Greenwood for instance could easily get us another 25 mil if he plays well for Marseille and a PSG go in for him for instance

Because what’s needed as as a team that wins the league every year to one that aims to move up the table is very different. It would almost be a bad thing for city to unnecessarily sign players.

Im a Villa fan and im not too convinced about the signings, Douglas Luiz was such a crucial player to us and Mcginns starting to decline, Onana isnt anywhere near up to Luiz standard, might offer a bit more of a physical presence but he hasnt got the skills going forward or the passing ability and set piece prowess Luiz has. One or two injuries which a lot of our players are prone to will really really get us in trouble. We’re in the Champions League this year and we have a lack of champs league experience and simply not enough quality depth. Weve really struggled in the past couple seasons in games that Martinez has missed and we havent got a reliable 2nd Gk, one injury to Torres or Konsa would be detrimental, Mings/Carlos arent getting any younger and both coming off the back of career defining injuries. As i said Mcginns not getting any younger, Kamaras still out for a bit, who knows how well Buendia can bounce back from his big injury and as you mentioned if Watkins gets a knock we are in serious trouble, weve spent a lot of money on prospects and unproven players, not replaced probably our key player from the last few seasons and just don’t have enough experienced top level players, we struggled with resilience and dropped silly points to average teams last year and our duck out of the ECL was embarrassing. I hope Emery has a few people in mind and doesn’t panic buy in these last few months. I think Felix signing for Chelsea is a bullet dodged, hes too much of a diva and the rumours swirling around about Sterling whos on the decline and on 300k a week isnt filling me with confidence

Because we haven’t backed our new manager with any signings, have 3 star players down to the last 12 months of their contract of which one has publicly asked for signings. Some of our fans also seem to think that Klopp has taken injuries with him out the door and that they will disappear with this new style. Still need a DM after not addressing it for 3 straight seasons and a LCB/LB and RW understudy for Salah…
I do think Liverpool need to buy players tbf, zubimendi was the one they wouldn’t got, but he rejected them, but they didn’t even have an alternative for him like Ederson from Atalanta or something, i also think u need a better back up left back that can push to be a starter as I don’t think Tsimikas is good enough

.Gallagher was massively overrated because his stats but he ruined almost every single attack that when through him, good decision to sell + was in his final year.
.Guiu for 6mil is a great buy, people will overreact with the chance he missed but the kid is 18 years old and already showing good signs in the 1st team.
.Chilwell can't play in maresca's system apparently and sterling is just terrible on huge wages (hence why he wasn't selected for england)
.Sanchez is bad i agree, hopefully Jørgensen gets a chance and proves himself
Overall i think the window is really good and on paper our squad is clearly good enough to get top 4. Lowered the wage bill massively, improved the 1st team and the depth whilst signing quality young talents all on a relatively low net spend. If we sell chilwell + stering and get Oshimen we have puled of a window that needs investigating
