Szoboszlai is so good. I do worry because of this role his numbers won’t be as impressive but his role in the team is so important. I also think how he has adapted from a more attacking role to a midfield role where he covers a lot of ground is so impressive. Big future ahead for Szoboszlai.

Another thing that's really helped Slot is the continuity of the squad. The pundits get so hung up on transfers, whose in whose out, it feels like a failure when Liverpool only sign 1 player, but there's a lot to be said for stability and continuity too, we had a whole new midfield last season which has played a full year together now, and you can see it in the way they work together as a group.

It’s actually weird saying something is a weakness based on a still picture because it is only a weakness if the players don’t react when the opponent tries to exploit the supposed weakness. Like he said after the ManU game about leaving Salah and Diaz high. It’s only a risk if they don’t run back when we’re under attack

    • @ComradeOgilvy1984

@@kwabenaboateng8660 Agreed. That wide slot is only a weakness if Gravenberch and Konate do not read the danger. Slot has 5 red shirts to clog that wide channel that contains 4 white shirts (the LW off screen). Even then if the attack is not smothered, Liverpool is not in great danger if Macca is quick enough to read the danger and races back to help Virgil.

I always thought this is the best Liverpool. The season after we went for full-blown risky intensity and that pretty much carried on til the end of Klopps reign. We won the league the next year with the more crazy style so we just stuck with it and I know we won the league with it, got to another cl final with it, and won a fair few domestic cups with it. 2019 and before just felt the best to me on the eye test. We dominated games and it just felt like we would never lose, we were in total control. Post 2019 we left ourselves so exposed at the back that we would concede so often and need late winner to turn it around, and more often than not we had magical moments and did exactly that, but honestly for years it felt like we were just lucky to be getting away with it week after week, late comeback after late comeback.

@@sylvestersmetanka4224 The defensive side of the game of Klopp's game can be pretty difficult to learn. Fabinho played almost no minutes for Klopp in his first 5 months at Anfield. Wijnaldum got minutes but it took him almost 2 years to blossom into a midfielder Klopp saw as reliable. Both eventually were instrumental in winning the CL and PL. Gravenberch without a preseason was never destined to be an instant hit -- I was expecting he would need 12-18 months to adjust.

Liverpool fan here. I think why slot has done so well is not only is he seemingly a really good manager but he’s also very very smart. He’s using aspects from the way klopp played and added his own, this does a few things it allows the players to still have comfort in ways they play, it allows him to implement what he wants easier due to not changing everything and it decreases confusion as player already have an idea of what to do. It’s much too early to say we’re going to win anything but I like the style we play.

Dutchie here: Great comment! Slot has the players to make them champion. That's a luxury for him. He got a Feyenoord team where 8 players were sold off to other European teams. (That's a big continuous problem in our competition for years now). But he made them champions of the Dutch league! He's a master of making players become even better than rhey thought And: you showed a little bit of Slot's trademark, the 'Hot zone'. I guess you call it the danger zone or zone 14. When everything goes according to plan, you'll see an overflow of this zone with attackers, midfielders and full backs. He creates a 6-4 or 5-4 advantage there. This often resulst in a goal attempt for the strikers (Salah sprinting in the box for example). And in the defence you'll often see a one to one situation. But that's no problem. The defenders, midfielders and also the goalkeeper, who has a specific task, are very close to eachother. So when a defender makes a mistake, there are enough players to compensate for it. Of course Liverpool will concieve goals and lose matches. That's part of the game. But in the end I think they will be the champions of this year.

For Klopp, his focus was more on overloading the attacking force....bombing forward with set pieces.
Under Klopp, Fabinho was such a beast for us as DM and partnered him with Gini......it just made our defensive line much more tighter.
We won..finally....because of Fabinho and Gini.
Fabinho started to get injured more😢 and Gini did not get his recontract....hurts that tight Klopp squad😢. Even with an ageing Hendo and Milner.
I am so happy to see that Arne is focused on defense.......we have good attacking players....but clean sheets win titles.😊
As a long time LFC supporter, I seen a Liverpool squad under Hodgson......those were dark times😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ultimately, I like to think these LFC squad.....truly want to play for the badge. A good mix of old and new players with the older senior players welcoming and embracing the newer players. THAT was the legacy of Klopp......he was always been an emotional manager but he got a good staff to reign him in.....imagine a Liverpool squad with Julian Brandt instead of Salah..😅

Great vid. I’m most impressed with how few chances they’re conceding. That’s a big change from the last few seasons under Klopp and is more reminiscent of when they were at their best in that 18-20 era and 21/22 season.
I think Trent has been really strong defensively as well, showing me the last couple seasons has 1. Been his positioning but also 2. He’s been a bit lax with his defending but from what he’s said in an interview recently is that if you don’t defend, you’ll get dropped and it’s a non-negotiable for slot whereas I think with Klopp, Trent knew he was essentially undroppable unless injured so he let that side of his game slip.
Intrigued to see how they handle going a goal down because that has yet to happen, even in preseason. I’m sure they’ll be fine but it’ll be interesting to see how slot tweaks things.

Interms of pressing, aggression in winning the ball back & quickly attacking spaces created in the opposition half nothing has changed. It's still the exciting & attacking football that we played under Klopp thankfully. But what Slot has encouraged & coaching brilliant is to take care of the ball, don't just give it away & not be always direct. The really enjoy watching the "De Zerbi" type of build play between the defence & 2 deepest CM's. It's a nice change to see them want to keep possession & look for openings. Then when they do it really speeds up still looks exciting & appealing to watch. The Sporting side of the club really did their due dillegence & so far it looks to be paying off with Slot. We won't see the best of his side until NEXT season though. With a full season to get his ideas across, get accustomed to the Premiership & a full proper pre season with his squad being there for the entirety for it.

All about winning the duel, all about being narrow, all about pressing shape, "if we can't do basics right, we dont talk about tactics", this after Ipswich game made me believe in the manager instantly, how many times we see potentially world class or talented players trying to play hero ball, trying to be that HIM. In Man United game he shouted at Trent a lot for losing the ball 17 times, under Klopp he will get praised for trying to be risky, trying to express himself, but under Slot, he want Trent to be efficient and be better at decision making, its not that he cant express himself, its the inconsistent decision making.

Do you honestly believe totnam and Liverpool are the same caliber of club? So you have no respect whatsoever for Liverpool? Anfield is a special place, do totnam have that? Just because totnam fissled out, you think Liverpool is cut with the same cloth as totnam? Disrespectful!

07:02 I don't think any of the televised pundits pointed out FOUR LFC players were looking at the back of defenders' shirts in the final third.
Liverpool were robbed of "Peak Klopp" when Oxlade-Chamberlain got injured and we have finally returned to four strong attackers, again.

When I think of the squad Klopp inherited, I feel grateful that he built & then left this squad for Slot to have a head start in his career.
Jurgen Nobert Klopp left us a legacy.
Now Slot need to strengthen his squad so we can have a 2nd String almost as strong & capable as 1st.
Only way to pip City to the title & withstand the horrors of injuries, fatigue & inexplicable loss of form for some players like last season when Salah Nunez & Diaz just couldn't score a goal to save their lives.

Too early to predict a lot with Slot, injuries and the intense schedule will play a big part but the talent handed to him, makes me confident we will finish inside the T4. That first goal conceded will sting 😂
Ps. Arsenal were vulnerable on the flanks which Klopp exploited during the FA cup game with Nunez and Diaz. Slot will find a way, as will Arteta who typically goes 1-0 up early and then settles into a mid/low block.

You rightly make a point about how Liverpool cope with how a team like Arsenal sets up but conveniently forgot to mention we beat them in pre-season when they had more of their starting players on the pitch than we did. The way that game played out is exactly how we beat a team like arsenal. Of course we can’t make too much of pre season games but our prem league game against Man U was just a repeat of the score line and performance against them in our preseason friendly.

I swear this same thing happened with Ange last season. Spurs did well early. Everybody did their videos on how Ange was the future of football and now he's one of the favourites to be sacked.
Wouldn't surprise me if people's opinions on Slot are completely different come the end of the season.

    • @I_am_nobody999
      @I_am_nobody999 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

Slot won a title with a terrible Feyenoord who had won 1 title in 24 years. If you ask Dutch football fans they all absolutely rave about him. Ange has done nothing special in the game. Winning a title with Celtic is probably the easiest task in world football, and I am not being hyperbolic when I say that. It literally is probably the easiest thing a manager can achieve in the game. They've won the league 18 of the 24 years since the millennium. Ange's other trophies have come at the biggest team in Japan and a couple of semi-professional Australian teams. Arne Slot is much younger and is obviously just more talented. Liverpool are a better run outfit than Spurs. They are more ambitious and they have done their homework here. There's absolutely nothing to suggest, so far, that Slot will be a failure.
For what it's worth I like Ange and I hope he is given a chance.

I think Van Dijk (and crew) is even alot better than he gets credit for, honestly. How they’ve played with their fullbacks since he got in there is really quite risky. And STILL he’s hardly even been made to look a fool. He don’t get dribbled past, he wins his duels, and generally quite solid defensive record in terms of goals. Just imagine United CBs left alone like that. No, wait. That is what we’ve seen the last few years. And their goal difference is negative over almost 60(!) games…

Far too early to be saying this. Truth is both Brentford and MU could have scored undeserved goals. Slot will be judged on trophies. There was a lot of fuss made about big Ange at Spurs a few games in. Liverpool have been handed an easy looking start and with Notts Forest and Bournemouth at home the next league fixtures that should be another 6 points. The true tests are coming in October and November.
