  • I talk you though how to add 30 days onto your tourist visa. Easy, quick (ish) and 1,900 baht and you have an extra 30 days in the Land Of Smiles!

    Upon obtaining my visa extension today, it's important to note that at present, there's no requirement for providing passport pictures or copies. You'll only need to complete the extension form and submit your passport, along with proof of your Thai residential/Hotal address, such as receipts or a lease agreement, as well as a Thai contact number. During my visit, I encountered another American who had previously obtained a visa extension and attempted to obtain another without leaving the country. He traveled from Chiang Mai to Hua Hin to do this. However, he was granted only a 7-day extension. If you have already undergone the initial extension process, it is necessary to depart the country and re-enter to apply for a second extension. It's advisable to conduct thorough research beforehand to avoid any unexpected limitations when seeking a subsequent extension.

      He had menioned in the video about only staying in Thailand for 180 days. I am interested in using the 6 month tourist visa, fly out for a night and start a new 6 month visa. Is this possible without the tax issues he spoke about?

    DUDE I like Thailand....been here many Times...not so crazy about the modern Bangkok...but this whole one extention and leave the Country and come back...seems like a rediculous amount of hassle and gives one the feeling that Tbailand is not so welcoming these days...looking at more liberal countrys that offer 90 day extentions or one year Retirement Visas.

      You can get a 1 year retirement visa here. I'll do a video on that in 20 years...
      For me, this is as good as it gets really...
      From what I've heard, retirement visas aren't difficult to sort out.

    If you are in Chiang Mai an you hate to stand in long lines, then get your papers at the immigration one day, take photoes and copies, then go home and fill the papers out at your home in the evening. Next day you go up early as normal, go to imigration when it,s open and take the final step before the rest of the peoples are comming. this saves you for a long sit and you dont have to wait so long!

    Thanks for the information. How does it work with accommodation? Does the provided accommodation need to cover the entire duration of the stay, or is proof of the accommodation where one resides at the time of applying for the visa extension sufficient? I plan to spend only 4 days in Bangkok before continuing my journey. Is it acceptable if the hotel in Bangkok provides documentation for this short stay?

    • @pg.travels
      @pg.travels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's just where you are staying when you apply. Any hotel should be able to do it for you.

      Thanks for your reply - it helps alot. Another topic that has come up a lot lately is TM30, which has recently become a requirement for some immigration bureaus, even for normal tourist visa extensions. For you in Hua Hin, this does not seem to be the case yet. Can you say anything about this? @@pg.travels

    Such a helpful video. Cheers m8. Btw, when you arrived on a 60-day tourist visa, did you need to show a return flight ticket to immigration when you arrived? I am thinking of going to Thailand on a tourist visa too.

    • @pg.travels
      @pg.travels  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wasn't asked and I didn't have a (real) ticket for onward travel within 60 days either so it's not just that they could see it in the system or something..
      I think that proof of onward travel is still on the official list of requirements but it's a few years since I've been asked.
      I just keep a Photoshop Airways ticket handy just in case....

    Great vid, quick question. I get the 60 day tourist visa and the 30 day extension. Do I have to do a visa run to get an a new Visa or can I extend again from within Thailand

    • @pg.travels
      @pg.travels  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You'd need to leave after the 90 days (60+30).
      You can then re enter for another 30 (+30) or you could apply for a tourist visa from an embassy in a neighbouring country then re enter with 60 (+30).

    A helpful and timely upload for me as I'm looking for to the same in Hua Hin - thanks!
    Is there anywhere near that office where I can take photocopies of the passport?

    • @pg.travels
      @pg.travels  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'm not sure in bluport (although there probably is) but if you did it at the main immigration office, there's a place across the road. If you are on the main road in Hua Hin, there's a big copying shop opposite the bottom of Soi 80. Just look for the big Kodak signs. They'll do photos, printing, copying etc.

    hi im coming in april for 5 weeks. normally just come for the month so i get the visa on arrival 30 days. as im coming for 35 days im being told i may not be allowed in without a 60 day visa already in place is this true or can i get the visa extension when im out there ?

    • @pg.travels
      @pg.travels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      In the past that would be true but they aren't often checking the return flight dates now so you should be ok. To be safe, I'd get the visa before coming. The cost is roughly the same and it saves half a day of your time when here too..

    After the 90 days, when can you re-enter?

    • @pg.travels
      @pg.travels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As soon as you've left, you can come back.
      A lot of people do visa runs where they just cross a border then come straight back.
      There are limits on this if you keep re entering on tourist visas though...
      Thanks for watching 👍🏽
