I will be doing a video soon describing what has been done to the supra already and what I will be doing this winter while its in my garage. I should have been making videos all along but its hard to when you are your own camera person.
Hello, I purchased the CX racing kit with same turbo, T4 manifold, downpipe and waste gate. The T4 manifold isn’t possible to use on a Mk3 without a ton of effort. So unfortunately I will lose my butt on that. They suck with fitment! Anyways my question to you is, what cast manifold are you using? Did you have to modify the CX Racing downpipe to use this cast manifold? I have paid so much for welding already and would like to see if I can use the downpipe, not have to chop and weld a new elbow on the turbo and use a rubber elbow like you have. Can you include the links for the exhaust manifold and 90 elbow off the turbo charge pipe?
The cx racing downpipe will have to be modified, the manifold is an EMUSA cast iron manifold. The 90 degree elbow is a mishimoto 2" I believe but I can't remember exactly. Any brand of 2" silicone will work. I'll search out some links if I get some time tomorrow.
T3 or t4? Looks like your gate is opening about 4,000 rpm. I just bought the .68 hotside t4 version of this charger for my mustang. Looking for instant spool and better around town drivability as opposed to my 70mm/ .96 journal turbo I'm taking off.
Its a t4. The gate is opening around 12psi at whatever the rpm is when it hits more than 12psi. I can baby the throttle and keep the gate from too soon but I love the sound of the dump pipe. I will be running more boost when I get a new ecu and the supportimg mods. This turbo makes boost around 3000rpm. For me, around town with this turbo is nice but im running a 6cyl engine with no tune and no major mods.
@@suprachefgarage9845 Nice, I was just mentioning it because a lot of people don't run them and damage their engines or even lose power, thx for replying so quickly!
@@deimosphob You don't lose power if you don't run a blow off valve. I don't know why you would think that, but it's not true. Not running a BOV *may* degrade the lifespan of your turbo some, but it's not going to damage the rest of your engine.
@@lorenhusky2717 I've mostly messed around with eBay turbo kits for old Ford engines which have issues with over-boosting, where a normal kit boosts all the way up to redline, that's why when I see eBay turbo kits I always say get a blow-off valve. Another problem they usually have is exhaust pressure, that's usually because of the shitty exhaust manifolds these things come with, but its also because of the shitty wastegates they come with not removing enough pressure, or them simply not having a wastegate. I got mixed up between wastegate and blowoff valve in the last post, you're sorta right on that last one, but putting too much boost through your engine can fuck up your top end, and not to mention if the turbo goes out you could be running chunks of turbo through your engine like Emelia Hartford's suubie.
