+It's Black Friday Even if you're innocent, what do you expect people to think when you get defensive over everything, act like mr Owl never existed, and planned just to "not tell people". Whether these rumors are true or not is irrelevant at this point. If nobody made them up then you weren't gonna tell us, the wedding would have just not happened, our money wouldn't have been back and we wouldn't have known shit. It's a bit of an asshole thing to say that it's "none of our business". When you sell tickets to your wedding, you made your relationship our business but you weren't complaining about us being "in your personal life" when you were getting money from it. You can't just expect us to not think bad things when you act that way, if you didn't act so shady about it in the first place and just straight up told everybody, we would NEVER think things like that. You must of known it was gonna get messy. I mean what I don't get is why its so hard to refund it. If it was me, I'd leave that wedding money in the corner or in some sort of virtual account and not touch it so it can be refunded if need be, the only way it would be hard to do is if it was spent. I'm not "looking to attack you" like you say. Me and many others are just running off logic. We just put the most logical pieces together because you just left it up in the air. Assuming was ALL we had to go on.
You really inspired me with this video. I thought that i was stuck with my husband in a depressing, dark, lost, shit life. One day I was sitting on the bed with him just wanting my life to either end, or to get out of that really deep dark place with him. I wanted to run and run fast as my legs could take me everyday..but all i could do was sleep from sadness. He hid a very deep dark past from me, and I was just finding the shit out when finally one day everything snapped and I finally got the strength to get up and I stepped up and left, I paid for my annulment and i have never in my life felt the freedom and happiness within myself that i have now. You really get a point across in this video that no one is stuck, and everyone has the capability to live their life to its fullest capability... just for them. I usually don't talk about my situations publicly but you really inspired me also to open up and speak up! Thank you Black Friday. I'm so sorry that people were so mean. I went though something similar when I got divorced after 24 years of marriage. Most knew the marriage had been dead a long time. He went to someone else immediately and I started dating soon after. Many gave me shit over it, rather than being happy that I was happy for the first thing in a long time. It sucks having to defend yourself when you want to just be private about things. I'm glad you're happy!

After 2:50 made me actually cry. Thank you for saying this. I was with my boyfriend-then-fiance-then-husband for a total of 10 years, meaning we had been together since we were teens. Granted to this day we are best friends and always will be, my family took it very hard that we decided to split up and I began dating someone else. We weren't meant to be "together" in that way, regardless of the fact that we love each other just as much as we always have. It's been 3 years since I started dating my current boyfriend and my parents still won't allow him to be around them, and I LOVE my parents. There's nothing "weird" about him, they just love my ex so much. My ex is still allowed at every family function, and I love it, but I wish they'd stop treating me, after THREE YEARS, like my current relationship will never be accepted. In one way I feel so lucky because my ex and my current BF get along, I talk to my ex every single day, we're never jealous of each other, I'd take a bullet for him, but I just wish my family knew I wasn't selfish for leaving him. My mom has been married 3 times... I can't imagine how SHE would have felt if she was forced to stay with my real dad. Sorry, that was a BOOK of a comment, but I appreciate you saying that so much. It hits me right in the feels because only a few months ago did my mom actually start using my boyfriend's NAME in TEXTS..... I felt so selfish for so long and I got tired of it. A little sage advice from a divorced old bat... YOU and only YOU matters to YOU. Being unhappy makes for profound depression, resulting in literal physical illness. I was very unhappy when I was married, but I stuck it out in fear of hurting my significant other, which was very unfair to myself. Now I know our situations differ as far as the reasons for our unhappiness, but the point is that only you can do what makes you happy. If you worry about everyone else, you're cheating yourself out of life's joys. Other people who are posting negative shit should look at their own lives and question their own happiness. Sticking their noses into another person's private affairs must only mean that they're bored. Essentially, that's what causes gossip; people who are bored and have no excitement in their own lives, they feel the need to create chaos in others lives just to get personal thrills. Fuck 'em.

I know this is an oldish video, but I've only recently come across your channel. My partner of 8 years and I have recently found ourselves in a similar situation; she wants to stay home because we have commitments (pets, a home, jobs) but I feel SO STIFLED, to the point where I'm starting to resent my partner and hate the life I'm living. I think you're incredibly brave, and that you obviously made the right choice for you. As you said, we do only experience our lives once, it's best to make the most of it.
I feel so much empathy for you. I have been in a similar situation. I left one person, and ta da, came across someone else. It was the same awful rumours. Cheating, lying, etc. It was charming to listen to you speak. You really are such a strong being!
I understand this. my daughter's father and i seperated in December of last year due yo negative things,and i started seeing this other guy in May. I got crap for moving on so quickly from a 6 year relationship. I was called every name in the book from him. Your life is yours to live. I am a 40 year old who grew up in a small town in the Midwest of the USA where I was was raised surrounded by those with strong traditional Christian values. As such, I was taught people who lead non traditional lifestyles were inferior. How does that work dude? - when does that stop?, when she needs to crowdfund a wedding?, when she needs assurance that people believe her?, when she needs views to make money? - I will take heed though, apparently people who videoblog are sick of people knowing their business. Jeez, I wish I had a white knight like you whenever I go outside into the real world. She's a big girl you know guys, I'm sure she's had to make decisions and take actions before that not everyone can agree with, not everyone thinks is a good idea, and not everyone has the guts to. Take away negating opinions and all your left with is affirmation, which might suit you, but then it begs the question, why have comments in the first place. You guys jump to her defense, as if she'll crumble at the first sign that anyone disagrees with her.

What a beautifully delivered message. I find it unfortunate that so many people aren't able to fathom a break-up that's anything other than ugly. When timing, personal goals, and circumstances are the culprits, when there has been no betrayal and the love remains, the end of a relationship is sad but dignified. I have always thought it healthiest to end a relationship in a way that honors what I had with my partner. This means, as you so elegantly said, there is no "bad guy" in the story. This means treating each other kindly and wishing each other only the best. Painful as this may be, love isn't always enough to sustain a relationship. Romance is lovely, but sometimes it just isn't ... practical. Reasonable adults know this and act accordingly. Best to you and to Mr. Owl. May you forever cherish what once was, and enjoy whatever shape your relationship takes moving forward.

I understand what you're going through. I met the man who is now my fiance two days after I broke up with my boyfriend (I never really saw him as more than a friend but he was bullied by his roommates about being forever stuck in the friend zone so I agreed to go out with him. I know that sounds shitty but we only lasted 3 & 1/2 months anyway because he had anger management problems and had a violent history with others.) and my ex and his friends immediately assumed that I knew my now fiance beforehand and that I had cheated on my ex to be with him. Let me add that this was three days into the semester at the college we attended, this was my second semester at the school, I wasn't from the state that the school was in and my now fiance had just returned to college after taking a year off to help support his parents and little sister. No possible way I could've met him beforehand. I began to see a side of my ex that I had broken up with him to avoid seeing, as he still had it in his head that I was somehow unfaithful. Thankfully the friends I already had knew who I was as a person and gave me the support that I needed as my now fiance and I quickly grew close and very shortly after started going out and now we're set to get married in November. Good on you for brushing off the negativity and for following your ambitions.

+Do_odle People need to learn that some aspects of ones life can be public when an adult feels like it's appropriate, and that other aspects of that same person's life that are not made public are none of anyone business. People are privy to information that is shared, and anything not shared is none of their business apparently, or she would have included them. It's never okay to make shit up and lie, regardless who it is being lied about, or how well anyone knows said person. We all make certain information public through Facebook and social media because, it's social media. But anything we choose not to make public is private, regardless of the fact that we make public certain information about ourselves. Not all information is the public's business, just because some information is. She gets to pick and choose, just as we all do.
Not everybody shares their life stuff via social media. And of the many thousands who do, most do not have a youtube channel with tons of videos revolving around their lives.
Fircasice Regardless, she is an adult that has the right to make certain things public, and keep certain things private. Just because some people don't make ANY aspect of their lives public on social (which is far and few between because there is no point in having an account on social media if you are never going to say anything about yourself, that's the point), doesn't have any baring on this situation. People noticed she had a different boyfriend and started making shit up. That kind of behavior is never acceptable because she is a human being. And unless people know her personally and she chooses to allow them into that part of her life, it's none of anyone's business. The decent thing to have done would be message her and ask her, not just make up what you think happened. There is no justification for nosey people just being petty. She is still a living person who has the right to privacy. She makes videos and has a facebook account, that does not give people the right to hound her, and believe they know what goes on in her life, when she has not said anything about the subject. Again, there is no justification for hateful behavior toward someone you do not know personally.

But she also needs to understand that by sharing so many details about herself, people will start to feel closer to her than they actually are because it's such a one way stream of information. And they will want to know certain things about her. When you put yourself out there like she does, this is to be expected. Even if it is a thing of highly personal value to her, what did she expect? Not only did she move to the other side of the globe but she also broke up with her fiancee and started dating another guy. I believe her when she says that it was a hard decision and that it isn't what it might look like BUT she had to expect that people would be asking questions about this. And if she wanted people to only liver their own lives and not be interested in hers to begin with, then she should not do this kinda thing in the first place.

But in any case she addressed it and had to readdress it because people would not accept her initial word on the matter and began reading into it. People must have a dramatic end, and someone to blame. It was never her qualm that people are involved in her life, it' that people like to ASSUME things without actually asking about it, when she is open about her life. That was the issue. And my response was to someone who didn't understand that we as a society put ourselves out there on facebook, twitter, and various forms of social media. And we still consider it off limits for people to ask about certain aspects of our lives unless they know us personally. How is this any different? This women does makeup tutorials, and videos on Goth culture and subculture. She does some personal videos. But most of them are about make up hair and clothing! I understand that people FEEL close to her, but they all need to take a step back and look at reality when they are being dramatic and talking about someone else, and their lives. When they know nothing about them except what they see in a video! There is reality, and the internet, and some people need to learn to separate the two. There is no excuse for not understanding the concept of boundaries, and then respecting someone as a human being dealing with life issues. This is me talking, not her.

I have been through a similar type of situation. I had a boyfriend, whom I cared about a lot, but i just wasn't happy in that relationship anymore and was unhappy for a while. I decided to break up with him, which was hard since he is a good person and I didn't wanted to hurt him. Shortly after (about a week), I started seeing this other guy. We had had been friends for a year by then. I also wasn't keen on putting it on social media because I felt like that would be rubbing it in. He just didn't care about stuff like that, thank god :)

I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. I was in a similar situation once, years ago (great guy I loved, and who loved me, but who wanted a very different life than I did--and even the quickly found new relationship). I had the benefit of not being in the public eye, but even so I had to deal with some rumor mill nonsense. For what it's worth, the people who stuck by me are still my very good friends, and I've been with the "new" guy (now my husband) almost a decade. (And my ex met his now-wife around the same time I started dating my husband). Much love and sympathy to you, and hopes and wishes that things turn out as happily for you.

I actually understand you well. Had the same dilemma 5 years ago. I decided to follow my path and to leave my previous fiance that did not even want to follow me abroad ( he knew my plan from the beginning but confessed at the very end that he would have never followed me). Some people preferred to remember that I went with someone else. The ones who truly love you will understand the choices you've made. Stay strong!

I think my issue is that someone else pressured you into making your relationship "Facebook official". I understand another person wanting validation especially in a new relationship but to pressure you into doing something you didn't want to do is really no ok. This new person you're in a relationship with should trust you enough without you having to plaster your relationship online. Either way I hope things work out for you, but in my experience (and experiences of others) this type of controlling behavior always waves red flags. Good luck.

And you managed to cover every remotely possible idea that might occur to people after having seen it, too. A mutual compromise like you two had is a rare thing, and I'm happy it didn't end as messily as it often does, which might be why some people have a hard time believing it. It still doesn't make their rumors, hate, and gossip a good thing to do, regardless of reasons. I'm also quite happy you found someone else to be with. This video made me a bit emotional, I loved what you said, it's very inspirational to me. My ex boyfriend broke up with me because of what I'm like which includes thinking of the worst rather than giving the benefit of the doubt. We still are very attracted to each other, we still see each other and we're not seeing other people. A lot of the time I get unnecessarily upset about things I think will happen which are most likely not going to happen and sometimes I lack faith. +It's Black Friday Even if you're innocent, what do you expect people to think when you get defensive over everything, act like mr Owl never existed, and planned just to "not tell people". Whether these rumors are true or not is irrelevant at this point. If nobody made them up then you weren't gonna tell us, the wedding would have just not happened, our money wouldn't have been back and we wouldn't have known shit. It's a bit of an asshole thing to say that it's "none of our business". When you sell tickets to your wedding, you made your relationship our business but you weren't complaining about us being "in your personal life" when you were getting money from it. You can't just expect us to not think bad things when you act that way, if you didn't act so shady about it in the first place and just straight up told everybody, we would NEVER think things like that.
You must of known it was gonna get messy. I mean what I don't get is why its so hard to refund it. If it was me, I'd leave that wedding money in the corner or in some sort of virtual account and not touch it so it can be refunded if need be, the only way it would be hard to do is if it was spent. I'm not "looking to attack you" like you say. Me and many others are just running off logic. We just put the most logical pieces together because you just left it up in the air. You really inspired me with this video. I thought that i was stuck with my husband in a depressing, dark, lost, shit life. One day I was sitting on the bed with him just wanting my life to either end, or to get out of that really deep dark place with him. I wanted to run and run fast as my legs could take me everyday..but all i could do was sleep from sadness. He hid a very deep dark past from me, and I was just finding the shit out when finally one day everything snapped and I finally got the strength to get up and I stepped up and left, I paid for my annulment and i have never in my life felt the freedom and happiness within myself that i have now. You really get a point across in this video that no one is stuck, and everyone has the capability to live their life to its fullest capability... just for them. I usually don't talk about my situations publicly but you really inspired me also to open up and speak up! Thank you Black Friday. Next time you have a drink, think of all the people you inspire with your videos. I'm so sorry that people were so mean. I went though something similar when I got divorced after 24 years of marriage. Most knew the marriage had been dead a long time. He went to someone else immediately and I started dating soon after. Many gave me shit over it, rather than being happy that I was happy for the first thing in a long time. It sucks having to defend yourself when you want to just be private about things.

After 2:50 made me actually cry. Thank you for saying this. I was with my boyfriend-then-fiance-then-husband for a total of 10 years, meaning we had been together since we were teens. Granted to this day we are best friends and always will be, my family took it very hard that we decided to split up and I began dating someone else. We weren't meant to be "together" in that way, regardless of the fact that we love each other just as much as we always have. It's been 3 years since I started dating my current boyfriend and my parents still won't allow him to be around them, and I LOVE my parents. There's nothing "weird" about him, they just love my ex so much. My ex is still allowed at every family function, and I love it, but I wish they'd stop treating me, after THREE YEARS, like my current relationship will never be accepted. In one way I feel so lucky because my ex and my current BF get along, I talk to my ex every single day, we're never jealous of each other, I'd take a bullet for him, but I just wish my family knew I wasn't selfish for leaving him. My mom has been married 3 times... I can't imagine how SHE would have felt if she was forced to stay with my real dad. Sorry, that was a BOOK of a comment, but I appreciate you saying that so much. A little sage advice from a divorced old bat... YOU and only YOU matters to YOU. Being unhappy makes for profound depression, resulting in literal physical illness. I was very unhappy when I was married, but I stuck it out in fear of hurting my significant other, which was very unfair to myself. Now I know our situations differ as far as the reasons for our unhappiness, but the point is that only you can do what makes you happy. If you worry about everyone else, you're cheating yourself out of life's joys. Other people who are posting negative shit should look at their own lives and question their own happiness. Sticking their noses into another person's private affairs must only mean that they're bored. Essentially, that's what causes gossip; people who are bored and have no excitement in their own lives, they feel the need to create chaos in others lives just to get personal thrills. Fuck 'em.

I know this is an oldish video, but I've only recently come across your channel. My partner of 8 years and I have recently found ourselves in a similar situation; she wants to stay home because we have commitments (pets, a home, jobs) but I feel SO STIFLED, to the point where I'm starting to resent my partner and hate the life I'm living. I think you're incredibly brave, and that you obviously made the right choice for you. As you said, we do only experience our lives once, it's best to make the most of it.

Jeez, I wish I had a white knight like you whenever I go outside into the real world. She's a big girl you know guys, I'm sure she's had to make decisions and take actions before that not everyone can agree with, not everyone thinks is a good idea, and not everyone has the guts to. What a beautifully delivered message. I find it unfortunate that so many people aren't able to fathom a break-up that's anything other than ugly. When timing, personal goals, and circumstances are the culprits, when there has been no betrayal and the love remains, the end of a relationship is sad but dignified. I have always thought it healthiest to end a relationship in a way that honors what I had with my partner. This means, as you so elegantly said, there is no "bad guy" in the story. This means treating each other kindly and wishing each other only the best. Painful as this may be, love isn't always enough to sustain a relationship. Romance is lovely, but sometimes it just isn't ... practical. Reasonable adults know this and act accordingly. Best to you and to Mr. Owl. May you forever cherish what once was, and enjoy whatever shape your relationship takes moving forward.

I understand what you're going through. I met the man who is now my fiance two days after I broke up with my boyfriend (I never really saw him as more than a friend but he was bullied by his roommates about being forever stuck in the friend zone so I agreed to go out with him. I know that sounds shitty but we only lasted 3 & 1/2 months anyway because he had anger management problems and had a violent history with others.) and my ex and his friends immediately assumed that I knew my now fiance beforehand and that I had cheated on my ex to be with him. Let me add that this was three days into the semester at the college we attended, this was my second semester at the school, I wasn't from the state that the school was in and my now fiance had just returned to college after taking a year off to help support his parents and little sister. No possible way I could've met him beforehand. I began to see a side of my ex that I had broken up with him to avoid seeing, as he still had it in his head that I was somehow unfaithful. Thankfully the friends I already had knew who I was as a person and gave me the support that I needed as my now fiance and I quickly grew close and very shortly after started going out and now we're set to get married in November.

If someone donates money to someone for whatever reason you should not expect a refund unless a criminal act was done using said money.
People need to learn to not stick their big noses into other peoples private lives.
+Do_odle People need to learn that some aspects of ones life can be public when an adult feels like it's appropriate, and that other aspects of that same person's life that are not made public are none of anyone business. People are privy to information that is shared, and anything not shared is none of their business apparently, or she would have included them. It's never okay to make shit up and lie, regardless who it is being lied about, or how well anyone knows said person. We all make certain information public through Facebook and social media because, it's social media. But anything we choose not to make public is private, regardless of the fact that we make public certain information about ourselves. Not all information is the public's business, just because some information is. She gets to pick and choose, just as we all do.
Not everybody shares their life stuff via social media. And of the many thousands who do, most do not have a youtube channel with tons of videos revolving around their lives.
Fircasice Regardless, she is an adult that has the right to make certain things public, and keep certain things private. Just because some people don't make ANY aspect of their lives public on social (which is far and few between because there is no point in having an account on social media if you are never going to say anything about yourself, that's the point), doesn't have any baring on this situation. People noticed she had a different boyfriend and started making shit up. That kind of behavior is never acceptable because she is a human being. And unless people know her personally and she chooses to allow them into that part of her life, it's none of anyone's business.
The decent thing to have done would be message her and ask her, not just make up what you think happened. There is no justification for nosey people just being petty. She is still a living person who has the right to privacy. She makes videos and has a facebook account, that does not give people the right to hound her, and believe they know what goes on in her life, when she has not said anything about the subject. Again, there is no justification for hateful behavior toward someone you do not know personally.

But she also needs to understand that by sharing so many details about herself, people will start to feel closer to her than they actually are because it's such a one way stream of information. And they will want to know certain things about her. When you put yourself out there like she does, this is to be expected. Even if it is a thing of highly personal value to her, what did she expect? Not only did she move to the other side of the globe but she also broke up with her fiancee and started dating another guy. I believe her when she says that it was a hard decision and that it isn't what it might look like BUT she had to expect that people would be asking questions about this. And if she wanted people to only liver their own lives and not be interested in hers to begin with, then she should not do this kinda thing in the first place.

But in any case she addressed it and had to readdress it because people would not accept her initial word on the matter and began reading into it. People must have a dramatic end, and someone to blame. It was never her qualm that people are involved in her life, it' that people like to ASSUME things without actually asking about it, when she is open about her life. That was the issue. And my response was to someone who didn't understand that we as a society put ourselves out there on facebook, twitter, and various forms of social media. And we still consider it off limits for people to ask about certain aspects of our lives unless they know us personally. How is this any different?
This women does makeup tutorials, and videos on Goth culture and subculture. She does some personal videos. But most of them are about make up hair and clothing! I understand that people FEEL close to her, but they all need to take a step back and look at reality when they are being dramatic and talking about someone else, and their lives. When they know nothing about them except what they see in a video! There is reality, and the internet, and some people need to learn to separate the two. There is no excuse for not understanding the concept of boundaries, and then respecting someone as a human being dealing with life issues. This is me talking, not her.

I have been through a similar type of situation. I had a boyfriend, whom I cared about a lot, but i just wasn't happy in that relationship anymore and was unhappy for a while. I decided to break up with him, which was hard since he is a good person and I didn't wanted to hurt him. Shortly after (about a week), I started seeing this other guy. We had had been friends for a year by then. I also wasn't keen on putting it on social media because I felt like that would be rubbing it in. He just didn't care about stuff like that, thank god :)

People can really suck, and half the time they don't even seem they mean to. Regardless, glad you are finding in life what makes you happy, and that you are able to make the decisions you need to, no matter how difficult. Been trying to do the same myself!

I mean, I'm sad that you and Mr. Owl had to split in order for you both to pursue what you wanted in life you seemed like a wonderful couple, but I'm glad you're doing what is going to make you happiest and this new guy is a very lucky fellow. It's not fair at all that you had to deal with malicious people but like you say now you know who your true friends are.

I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. I was in a similar situation once, years ago (great guy I loved, and who loved me, but who wanted a very different life than I did--and even the quickly found new relationship). I had the benefit of not being in the public eye, but even so I had to deal with some rumor mill nonsense. For what it's worth, the people who stuck by me are still my very good friends, and I've been with the "new" guy (now my husband) almost a decade. (And my ex met his now-wife around the same time I started dating my husband).

I actually understand you well. Had the same dilemma 5 years ago. I decided to follow my path and to leave my previous fiance that did not even want to follow me abroad ( he knew my plan from the beginning but confessed at the very end that he would have never followed me). Some people preferred to remember that I went with someone else. The ones who truly love you will understand the choices you've made. Stay strong!

I'm just horribly frightened that you will regret this later on. You two were... just so special and seemed perfect together. You two had become engaged and I was ecstatic but I don't know. This seems almost a bit rushed and I understand that staying out of Wellington was better for your mental state but this seems so odd.

I think my issue is that someone else pressured you into making your relationship "Facebook official". I understand another person wanting validation especially in a new relationship but to pressure you into doing something you didn't want to do is really no ok.
This new person you're in a relationship with should trust you enough without you having to plaster your relationship online.
Either way I hope things work out for you, but in my experience (and experiences of others) this type of controlling behavior always waves red flags.

I know the video's old but, I highly respect the way you intelligently stated the facts of what happened, without any bias, simply to end an apparent flame war. And you managed to cover every remotely possible idea that might occur to people after having seen it, too.
A mutual compromise like you two had is a rare thing, and I'm happy it didn't end as messily as it often does, which might be why some people have a hard time believing it. It still doesn't make their rumors, hate, and gossip a good thing to do, regardless of reasons.
I'm also quite happy you found someone else to be with. Solitude isn't something people should encourage from one another, as it can be incredibly self-destructive. And, love is a wonderful thing. I'm glad you found it once more. :)

If I didnt know what you've shown here I would've thought the same that you up and left your ex to be with another guy. But I give Mr. Owl a lot of resect for putting aside his feelings to make sure you were happy and you got to go live your dreams. Im happy that you're happy and you two can act like adults.

This video made me a bit emotional, I loved what you said, it's very inspirational to me. My ex boyfriend broke up with me because of what I'm like which includes thinking of the worst rather than giving the benefit of the doubt. We still are very attracted to each other, we still see each other and we're not seeing other people. A lot of the time I get unnecessarily upset about things I think will happen which are most likely not going to happen and sometimes I lack faith. I spend so much time living in my head that I forget to enjoy the world. Thank you for this reminder about time and seeking the things you love.
