I agree 100%, because of the white face powder with no eyeliner nor mascara. I am ginger too, and here she looks looks like me (when l was younger) & can't be bothered to put those on, which is quite frequently, ain't gonna lie. I also wear dark sunglasses and it probably doesn't match my outfit lol. If I wasn't so lazy I would love to dress goth like her every day on the regular because that's what's in my heart, and batcave is my favorite music, maybe when I'm retired I'll have the time for that but not now

I must say, in Scotland I saw many pale, freckled gingers with blonde eyebrows just like me, it’s an uncommon look but we exist! I got bullied for it at school as did many others. Plz stop accusing me of wearing white makeup here, I’ve spent years fading the freckles on my face, I avoid the sun, I don’t tan, as you can easily see from my legs, I’m just fair skinned. Mmkay? Be nice to gingers, we burn easily 💕

Yes pale skin people DO exist. I was always told for years that I’d look better if I wore a darker colour foundation but if I wear even the second shade up it looks orange and unnatural.
I'm a brunette without freckles and pale and I don't tan. I must be rare since people who don't usually tan are very light haired but only my eyes are light.
as a basic bettie, I can help you:
- hair in a messy top bun
- yoga pants
- black thongs or Vans
- white shirt
- cropped denim jacket
- for makeup....you don't really need that blue primer or white powder. it makes you look goth pale but we're going for basic pale. your brows look good but I would just add like a tinted moisturiser, mascara and lip gloss.

I feel like warming up your complexion with a tinted moisturizer & transparent powder, plus wearing brown eyeshadows & black mascara would have helped. Your skin is so pale that pastels wash your color out more. This might be better to revisit as a collaboration with a beauty guru who does normal makeup & vintage styling. A pinup look would be flattering.

@Crafty Lady Abby the primer she used works for her normal look not the "normal" she was aiming for. That primer is a base for the white look & wearing peach clothing just fades out a redhead. I wish she would have gone with jewel tone clothing which would have worked well with her light skin & red hair. I speak from personal experience.
She appears to have a cool undertone to her skin so she needs to stay in that range & perhaps a shade or 2 darker than she thinks she needs. Back in the day when there was less range in colors I was porcelain but now I am normally a fairly light or light. She could probably use a pink type blush going by the undertone along with some eyeshadow, liner & mascara. Normal people wear makeup not just foundation & out the door.

I would suggest watching some makeup videos since they are a wealth of knowledge without having to drop money on something you are undersure of. I find some people who are in my shade range so I know which foundation & concealer shades will work for me. I was born a ginger but my hair darkened with time but there a quite a few gingers in my family so I know about the coloring or lack of. lol
Oddly enough as I got older my skin has gotten more color so I have had to adjust my shade thru the years.
I really think you would like how you looked more if you wore emerald green or royal purple as they would be flattering to your skin, eye & hair color. Pastels have always washed me out making me look like I'm sick while the darker shades set things off. Check out the Charlotte Tilbury site her eye makeup looks really good with red hair! Next time you decide to try the look again watch some videos for some ideas on makeup looks it makes a world of difference in how you will feel in the end.

Nothing wrong with her toes. They look fine to me. I have long skinny toes, and I love showing them off with sandals. I also have a foot tattoo, and show that as well. The only problem I have is no toenails on both big toes. I had them removed because of ingrown nails that bothered me constantly. I paint the area where the nail used to be, and no one can tell the difference. (Jan Griffiths).
I wear big stompy goth boots. Every day. Always. Since I was 12/13 years old. I am 48 now, and I can completely relate to that comment. If I were to wear sandals I would literally feel naked.

Agreed. And tossing it in a basic messy bun is pretty common. I've learned how to blend in when I want to. Certianly not as fun as outlandish or alternative fashions. But in the right circumstances, it can be useful to blend.
But that's already how she looks like on some days just not on youtube. I've seen it on Mr Owl's instagram. She wants to look like how she looked like in a different timeline if she never dyed her hair and didn't wear her current style.

I just think that she could achieve the "normal" look with much less effort. @mch3ira That's totally what I thought! She tries too hard and it just doesn't look good. The wig is too artificial and this outfit looks like someone's grandma would wear, to be honest... Btw I'm also goth, just not so "extreme" one. I do look "normal" very often in plain total black. And also, idk how a person can be so unfamiliar with other styles and trends, like, you see it everyday on the streets, it's not that hard to guess what's popular now...

I think she's going for "normal person putting in some effort", since the contrast is to her goth look which she wears when she's filming. If she wanted to do lazy buns and no makeup, the goth look at the beginning would have to be her putting in zero effort too. Which is no fun.

I do believe she has a friend (or HAD, not sure if they still are) who could help her with that if she is interested. The local crowd consists of pretty much every kind of outcast, from the gypsies to the 50's pinup bombshells to the elder goths.

The white shirt brought out a more “normal” skin tone. The brown eyebrow pencil would look good as a natural eyeliner. Some blush to replace the contour that your usually do on your cheeks would round out the look. A headband would cover the weird parts of the wig. Actually, scratch the wig entirely and just wear your natural hair in a more plain style

I filmed this on the day the Prime Minister announced the lockdown! If I’d left it a day later it would have been impossible. The atmosphere was weird but at least there was just enough time for this experiment before literally everything shut for a month!

I think you did well. I might have thought you had weird hair (I think people usually put messy/tangledish hair in plaits/high buns to keep it out of the way or detangle it and leave it down). I don't know. I'm not fashionable. I'm not used to seeing people go out like that but otherwise I wouldn't have blinked.

It’s really hard to make a wig look natural, I would honestly just go out with your dark hair and style it curled. For your makeup I’d add more color with blush or bronzer and I think you’d nail it!

Pro-tip from my brother in law (who also used to be my teacher in high school and nobody ever found out about his goth ass until the moment he said "how come nobody in this classroom knows about Bauhaus"): give black clothes a try, but the basics. Like a black t-shirt and leggings or a couple of jeans, paired with black boots or sneakers. The total black look will always be "normal" and you can break it off with a couple of colored items or accessories.
Pro-tip from me and my experience in daily human disguise at work: total black with messy buns or just straight hair. A bit of "natural" makeup (hints of color also useful for this one). You can also do it with your natural hair, there's nothing unnatural about the way you look and dress btw. ❤️

I agree with people who say just brush out your hair and style it “normal.” You’d have an easier time of it. Most normies I see out there wear a little more makeup. A foundation or tinted moisturizer that matches your natural skin, a little blush, thin eyeliner, mascara, and a light wash of natural shadow would be good.
Most normies I know don't go that deep on makeup. I'd say, little to no make up, but some - only eye lashes and maybe brows, as most common.
Agree. Most women I know, specially blondes and redheads, use at least mascara and lipbalm everyday. I personally feel like an alien with concealer and foundation but no mascara and a little countour.

I always love these transformations, not just the one you did but I’ve seen others too. I always think the person looks incredible both ways but you can always without fail tell which makes the person more comfortable. Which style makes the person happier and makes them feel like themselves. You look adorable in both styles but you are so much happier as your regular self! Who wants to fit in anyways?!
Two main suggestions for a more convincing disguise: wear mascara, and use less product on the wig (or just spend more time practicing styling it). You hit on a few more key points, like dressing for the weather and adding accessories. Don't be afraid of color, either; that green skirt was excellent with that hair color!

You calling normal people clothes a "costume" is so relatable. I'm so used to my own style (which is decidedly very different from what most people wear) that I just don't feel normal in "normal people clothes" and it feels so conspicuous to be wearing them.

No such thing as normal everyone is molded differently. People that are considered normal may not be as normal as you think. Some people fall into line because they are disabled or broke. Some people are dumb sheep but mostly normal doesn’t exist the baseline is too skewed for normal to be a real thing. Natural state with makeup that majority of “basic” or everyday people wear is more what this is

I think even your perception of "normal" style is a bit flashy, a lot of the clothes you picked in the shop while very cute had bolder prints or colors or cuts. "Normal" in the way of people probably wont be looking at you might be something like a plain pair of blue jeans and a some kind of plain or branded t shirt with a hoodie. You looked not Goth but like you might be heading to church service or a nice garden party.

I actually know several people who dress like that, (vintage-y, floral-y) on a daily basis! My main recommendation would be to thin the wig out a bit, and if you are wearing makeup add a bit more colour back in with some light blush. Overall a way better attempt than last time :)

I agree with the make up tips but I would not have worn a dress it would have been jeans with the floral vintage top or a flannel shirt. As far as shoes it's usually work boots or something I can get dirty. I wind up doing farm work or art projects or helping with something messy.

I think the reason people look at you when you’re out is due to holding up your camera, I think if it wasn’t for you doing that then no one would really look at you oddly because you still look stunning either way.

I’m not goth, but I do wear a ton of black (I dye my hair black as well) and I think if you styled it right you could pull off a “normal” look. SAME, I wanted to do a 50s makeup look with blush, lashes, red lipstick and everything on her!! Something modest but cute and feminine to tie it all with a vintage outfit! :) Also maybe a hat so the wig didn't seem too off or to hide the part in the middle, which is what I think made it look out of touch.

I would say the wig looked more "normal" before you did anything to it. Auburn and red hair is very common now...also the teasing of it made it seem more like a wig.

I reccomend using your normal hair down in a natural straight or curled style 😊 a lot of women have dark black hair like yours and wear natural clothes like jeans and a t-shirt or patterned dresses ect. Women usually also wear a lot of black too just usually not in a gothic style but rather in a more casual way. Your makeup was good, the only thing i'd change was some more blush and mascara.

I think the hair (her dyed black hair) straightened would be normal enough but I 100% agree she should go to a mac counter - they will do your makeup for some amount of money but then you get a voucher to buy makeup there so it's almost like free!

Yes. But because that is what you wear every day you radiate confidence and assuredness. Personally, I like goth and alternative fashions but don't have a personal style of my own so if I see someone like her walking around, I just think, "wow, she is so confident and beautiful. And fuck anyone who tries to make her feel inadequate." And then I'd try to figure out how she did her make up!
If you want to look "normal" I would lose the wig lots of people dye their hair, mostly because they feel they don't look right with their natural hair color. I also recommend wearing jeans and a nice graphic t-shirt, and a Nice flannel. Or wear some shorts and a graphic t-shirt with a jacket or flannel. Or instead of graphic t-shirt and jacket/flannel a nice comfy sweeter. I also recommend your do your brows in your natural color, with a bit more thicknesses to them, just a bit bushie. Do a cat eye eyeliner and a nude lipstick. I recommend some light blush as well. Trust me no one would look at you twice.

I've watched your videos for a few years now, not all just the ones recommended to me but I always loved your goth look. Seeing you like this gives me a vague sense of danger.
Thinning out a wig, cutting it to a desired length, and adding concealer to the parting space really help make it look more realistic.
It would be great to see you try pinup or kawaii style transformation:)

I love that you are trying. This is my advice for your next attempt.
Go more casual. Leggings and a top with a denim jacket.
Loads of people color their hair black, maybe work with your black hair into a more normie style. Straight, beach waves, basic ponytail. No back combing/teasing.
With makeup, maybe try a natural glam. Follow a tati westbrook tutorial. Just because you are emulating "normal" you can still wear makeup and have fun.
