People are so rude and gross!! Did anyone come up to you with grabby hands? The worst is when they come up and actually GRAB at you. I've had strangers come up and, without asking for permission, start touching my hair, my nails, my jewelry, my clothes, etc. Like what kind of ignorant, assbackwards upbringing do you need to have to feel completely comfortable with violating people's personal space like that? And tourist areas are always worse, it's like they think you're part of the local entertainment, ugh lol

If it makes you uncomfortable, you should absolutely say NO to them! It's your hair, it's your body, you shouldn't feel bad about not letting people touch you just because they said "please". I tell people no all the time. If they get offended, then that's their problem. They don't have the right to touch you if you don't want them to.

I've walked around in my goth attire in many cities, from what I can tell people don't believe we actually dress like this out of personality but out of theatrical reason, like your on your way to a play, preform or something. I don't really care personally, if they find me interesting then fine, its when they touch me.....like hello????
I actually have just sat there and people started coming up to me and taking selfies with me...ended up getting a line of people. I just....Its fine, they seemed happy and weren't doing it out of evil intents so i just go with it really.

I wore my Demonia 815 swings to school on the 1st and I felt so hated with myself simply because people would pass and laugh and take pictures sometimes. I eventually sat in the bathroom crying. I pulled myself together and put on my resting goth bitch face and it seemed to work a Lil for myself. It was my first experience I've had with something similar to this.
But if something that small could cause me to freak out, this would make me melt. down.
I live in Las Vegas NV. and there are times where if I walk into a room, all eyes will be on me like "w0w l00k!!!!1 an individual!!1 Let's laugh @ her 4 wearing black makeup and clothes!!! 1" but other than that, walking down the street I'll get a common "GOTH!!!1" comment or so

I thought that was very rude. I can't believe that people would take photos of you like you were just paintings in an art gallery. That's just stupid! Like you said, it would be word if anyone were to take a picture of them. I really want you to confront one of them but I know that wouldn't solve anything. I'm not a goth but I'm getting really pissed at something that probably wasn't even worth getting THIS pissed about.

There are plenty of things I hate about France, but at least people won't take pics of you if you look weird. They'll either stare, compliment, insult, or spit on you. I speak from personal experience.
Everytime someone takes your photo, you should just walk up to them and be like "that'll be 5 euros, thanks :)"Bet that would put them off :p

I think people in Prague just take pictures of what's not totally normal. I was coming back to my dorm like two weeks ago and some random guy was taking pictures of me on the tram. Jeans, a white shirt, denim jacket, there was nothing particular about the way I was dressed that would have caused it. But I'm a fat girl so he decided to start taking my picture because that's okay, right? Thankfully, some random guy moved in between us then I moved when the tram stopped. A minute or two later, another guy walks over and smiles at me real quick, points his phone camera at the guy who had been taking pictures, then turns the screen around to show him the picture he took like "How do you feel when somebody does it to you?" I was still upset but that guy kinda did make it better.

it's not just the tourists though. i was walking around the non touristy spots in prague in ridiculous clothing and i got just as much pictures of me takes as i would have in teh city centre. it's really just that the people here are rude as hell

I think that many of those people thought that you were in costume and were a street performer like the costumed actors that you might often see in NY or LA but still I understand that you felt weirded out--I was starting to feel uncomfortable just as a viewer, seeing it from your perspective. Unfortunately when you look far different than the 'norm' you will attract attention and often it's just harmless curiosity or even genuine interest and admiration. Still doesn't make it right for people to assume that you are fine with pictures being taken of you, but such is human nature.

When I was at the zoo with my parents, they saw a goth couple and started giggling and making jokes about them. It kinda pissed me off, I don't get people. ..

Honestly. i think they're just really intrigued by the way you dress. I noticed that most of them give you the thumbs up or wave so at least they're being friendly. Still, it should be common sense to at least ask first or introduce themselves before taking a picture :/ I dressed similar once with red contact lenses but it was at a theme park so you can imagine how uncomfortable it was to have to stand in an hour long queue for a ride with all eyes on me! xD

i have no desire to be goth, nor have i ever even considered it. but she really, seriously amazes me. she has completely changed my outlook on goths. a few months ago it would have scared me, but now i would genuinely hug one. on the outside she may look very different, but she's so beautiful on the inside. she's inspired me to come out of my comfort zone and be ME.

I think the nice thing to recognise is that for a lot of them, they weren't laughing, they were smiling and waving as they took the photo. They weren't thinking through and rude they were being but their intentions were clearly good and like they clearly LIKED how you were dressed, you know?
I'm a raging street punk covered in spikes and band patches and one time I walked into a building full of people and it felt like all of the sudden all eyes were on me. A young child screamed and covered their eyes and I heard a bunch of kids yelling "Look at her hair, look at her hair!" As I had an 8 inch tall, green mohawk at the time. I then sat down at a table with my family and some boy who looked to be about 13 came up to me with a professional camera, told me to "Say cheese" and he proceeded to take multiple pictures of me. This is only one of the many instances in which strangers have taken photos of me. But this was the most rude, non consensual one of all. Also, once an indian man took photos of me and said I was going to become famous in india because he was going to show everyone wherever he went.

But I can totally see how it can also seem really rude, especially if they don't ask first. But most of these people seem perfectly friendly and you can tell by their smiling faces they are greatful and happy to see you and enjoying your presence which is nice too :)

Sorry for all of us Czechs, I'm from Czech Republic. I was there about two weeks earlier than you. It is a pity. It would be great to meet you. Most are foreigners there. When I was there, so few people spoke Czech. It was full of Vietnamese there, etc. Czechs as if they did not exist.

Goddamn, why can't people just ASK for a picture? If I like someones style, I always ask them, if I can take photo WITH them. I think, it makes a huge difference, if you're on the picture too or, if you just take a photo of the person alone. Also all this people getting their smartphones out...kinda gives me the feeling of being in a zoo O.o
