    Most detailed spring installation video for the Type R. Props for providing the torque specs for every single bolts and nuts.

    • @Tomoi811
      @Tomoi811 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      does it matter? i mean as long as its tight it should work no? What is the point of having the bolts torqued to the correct specs? (car noob here)

    • @silvy3047
      @silvy3047 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tomoi811 the only torque that really matters is your lug nuts because you don't want a wheel falling off, but even those are hard to under-torque. The struts are around 30-40 lbft and that's easily reached by using a ratchet and getting it snug. So yeah, as long as something is tight you're good to go

    He’s says not to take off the three lower control arm bolts!! I just did mine and took this advice and my axle popped out the transmission. FOLLOW SPOONS GUIDE!!! Take the lower control arm bolts out. I did this for the other side. Made taking the strut out easier and the axle didn’t come out.

    Video is on point except left front. Does not go back together as easy as the right. The half shaft keeps popping out as you try to get the strut back in. I used a jackstand but then you don't have enough leverage to get the strut back in. I ended up tearing the seal on the diff on a car with 170 miles on it. Hats off the anyone who can follow this video and not have issues on the left front. I am a mechanic by trade and it still kicked my ass. I've never had issues on a Honda/Acura suspension. Thank you for the video and torque specs.

    • @MrJjburgess11
      @MrJjburgess11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only a 1 inch drop. The oem shocks can handle that fine. It's usually if you go more than 1¼ . Then it's bad for your stock shocks

    Do you have to trim bump stock? Or is that optional

    • @modinfinite8671
      @modinfinite8671  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We recommend trimming the bump stop. Leaving the bump stop at its OEM length could result in an overly harsh ride.

    Any issues with the axle when removing the front? I’m concerned with the front axle bearing popping out.

    • @modinfinite8671
      @modinfinite8671  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We recommend keeping a jack under the front control arm. This will prevent the control arm from drooping down to low and pulling the axle out.

      @@Jr-ef9ny. Check your sway bar nuts. I loosened the top nut that was connected to the strut. By doing that it loosened the bottom nut enough to let the strut have play w/new springs to knock against my strut tower. Once I tighten those bottom ones,knocking went away. Didn’t think to recheck that lower nut,cause we didn’t completely take the sway bar off. Just the top to disconnect it from the strut.
