I'm nowhere near being a competent engine builder but, right away seeing the engine bay, I knew heat was already going to be an issue. IMO at first glance in regards to doing something about said issue, would be to have a vented hood. and possibly more airflow through the grill.
No way it has 450 hp at the crank with just 1.4/1.5 bar boost. Maybe 360.. As a reference: There is a video from AutoTopNL with a 386 hp FK8 running 1.5/1.6 bar.. Still very good performance besides the cooling issue.
The last tests were 439-446HP and 513Nm. We are still in development as the project is not completely finished. But we use a different approach as we don't tune just on boost and the turbo, which causes reliability issues in the long-term or even cracked piston rods. Follow us for more info and videos with dyno tests.
big turbo so less boost needed to make more power, is not all about the boost pressure... good IAT, timing, fuel used, all of that make big diferences.
Beautiful driving. Car I'm slightly closer to appreciating having never driven a serious performance car but, somehow I can relate a lot more especially with the footwork. Roads I drive on, heel and toe but, fandastic. A genuine pleasure to watch =)
Your channel is simply the best and unquestionable proof that type R's are the greatest sport cars. You are allways so happy and emotional in those civics, i can fell it through the monitor hah.
something about a high revving vtec that gives you the need to thrash the s**t out of it, thus making you drive it like a certain f1 driver with an m4... 😂. misha really needs to get a civic like this and prepare it for the track, nice aero nice weight reduction, tires, suspensions... every time there is a honda showcased in this channel, the video works out to be magical.
As a belgian I can confirm, it is really hard to modify a car here and keep it legal. Even if the car is a 3000gt from 1991, everything has to be as oem as possible 😢
The thing is the Type R being a true sports car already comes with performance parts, thus there is really no need to get a new set of coilovers. The exhaust system is already wide enough, anything larger would be mostly for the sound. The engine is also already tuned for aggressive driving

There's always a way to get it for the right price
That biker was super fast on a older bike
it was a very old bike, impressive speed :)
Indeed, NSR250. That was probably the top of 6th gear on the way into Schwedenkreuz!
@@goldengooch1867 RGV-Γ 250
@@goldengooch1867 Its an RGV - I have a simlar one - and yes it would be absolutely flat out through there. On road gearing it will do around 125-130mph indicated, eventually so a real 110-115mph going into there is about all its got.
Still one of the very best handling bikes ever produced.
2 stroke is the purist thing among motorcyclist.😄
What a superb lap 👍
I'm so happy to watch your videos. I live in Vietnam
Ace Hondas are amazing! I've seen him out here on track with me out here at Willow springs Chuckwalla and driving in the mountains of Los Angeles. They are pretty quick and pretty fun
That thing is a beast
Never 450ps and big turbo.
To slow 100-200 and just 1.5 bar (its stock!)
Me: 1.8 bar same amount ps and 3 sec faster 100-200. He says 4pistons camshaft? Didnt belive it eather, its rev to 7200 this is stock too! Upgraded camshaft revs up to 8000.
This is how I would want a FK8 R&D in right places and the car is not overpowered for the setup at speed good work.
Misha + Honda never disappoints!
13:33 Wow, that sky blue Porsche was going some...
I'm nowhere near being a competent engine builder but, right away seeing the engine bay, I knew heat was already going to be an issue. IMO at first glance in regards to doing something about said issue, would be to have a vented hood. and possibly more airflow through the grill.
I just bought a type r fk8 because it is my dream car
Had no idea it was this good on the nordschleife😮
Quite the difference between a 90s/early 2000 Hondas when you can basically sit in the engine bay compared to now lol
Can not believe the corner speed that car was able to achieve on lowering springs!!
As a belgian I can confirm, it is really hard to modify a car here and keep it legal. Even if the car is a 3000gt from 1991, everything has to be as oem as possible 😢
Try Portugal and your prespectiv totaly changes 😅
you could blur the phone on the panel :P I hope fans dont call the number lol
The thing is the Type R being a true sports car already comes with performance parts, thus there is really no need to get a new set of coilovers. The exhaust system is already wide enough, anything larger would be mostly for the sound. The engine is also already tuned for aggressive driving
Looks like it is lacking in cooling though, an aftermarket intercooler would be a great upgrade
And what is more crazy is that bike was a 250 2stroke from a 80's era... not a modern 1 liter bike.. 40 years old bike.
It is "just" 31 years old now, haha. It is from 1992.
Was a great day at the Nordschleife. I remember the white Civic behind me.
@@NBR_SK is that a nsr250sp ? hope you can upload more about that bike, that was really my dream bike, but its almost impossible to find it with a reasonable price now.. i have a rd350 2stroke.
you really got a skill in nurburgring, really impressive to see that 250 can compete with a type r because that old bike surely dont have a great handling like a modern superbike..
@@harisyoung4110 It is a Suzuki RGV 250 VJ22. Next season I plan to upload some onboard footage of this bike. It is fun to drive with it on the Nürburgring but honestly it is a little bit too slow for the high speed sections there, haha. It only goes ~ 210 km/h max.
You really have to work hard on that thing to keep the momentum going.
