2021 Honda Civic Type-R Build | RS-R Lowering Springs | APEXi Full Exhaust | PRL Intake | Vossen HF5

- In this episode, we adding some tasteful mods on this brand new 2021 FK8 Honda Civic Type-R in Boost Blue. We started off with a set of lowering springs from RS-R, dropping height about 1.5" all around. Then we add on a PRL intake system along with front pipe and full cat-back N1 exhaust system from APEX-i. Lastly, thanks to Vossen Wheels, we upgraded to the factory size 20" Vossen Hybrid Forged HF-5 in Matte Gunmetal along with slightly wider 255/30/20 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 tires all around.

Man... from covering the rotors when removing the shocks to taping the wheels during the alignment, you guys are AMAZING. I NEED a shop like that here in Dallas/Ft. Worth for my Type R!!!

Not as much as those 2 white one's that you see racing in the DMV and LA area (the one's on IG with the massive Wing and 600hp+).
Love the quality of the video and the QUALITY OF WORK most importantly. I have a type r and am enjoying that stock aka warranty lol but i will start modding her in the far out future. Keep it up AHC Garage.

@@ahcgarage I wonder if these wheels and tires hold up better than the OEM. The OEM are thin can’t absorb a pot hole hit which unfortunately are here in NY LOL and got to switch the tires at 10,000 miles.
Tons of 18" wheel choices out there which look way better than the ridiculous 20's and 30-series tires. 40-series and 18's fit the car a lot nicer, make the ride better, and are just all around more practical for a DD vehicle.
@@Patrick94GSR I was thinking about getting this for a DD that’s putting about 100 miles a day. Had to pass on it. Will kill me to put that many miles plus the repair it would cost for this car just didn’t make sense. 21 Civic Touring it is for me.

I had koni strt struts with sportlines and just flawless even over our shitty streets.
Not knowing how stock struts will take springfs I'm worried about putting some prokits on my brz and will prob do sways first

Enjoyed the vid thanks! Big drop from the RS*R. I am going the opposite way and reverting my 2017 fk8 to stock. I have 255/35/20 4s on stock wheels and I like them.
Lowering isn’t for everyone. Works well for us with perfect flat roadway. Slightly larger tires with those 4S will definitely get the full potential out of the FK8 👍🏼

Wheel gap will be a bit more exaggerated due to the wheel size change. Might have to increase the tire size by a bit to compensate

That Apexi exhaust sounds like the best so far for the new Type R
I have to agreed. We have tested a few and most carry a heavy drone. This apex-i made a huge impression on the sounds and performance. To be far, it’s one of the pricier exhaust out there for FK8

Great job. Will this down pipe cause any engine light check? Also why dose the PRL intake sounds too loud then my injen intake? These intakes seems the same air flow .

I really like that blue ! To bad the interior didn't get matched to the color instead of the red ! My local Honda only got a hand full of white ones in since the release and legit I've only seen one black one on the lot that ended up being sold to someone a few hours away! I don't think Canada got many color options !

Nice, just a little advise put blue thread locker on the prl intake box bolts and mine where vibrating out after 8k miles. I removed the box since I was doing radium ccv catch can install and fixed it….just FYI.

are these the rs r super down lowering springs? i’ve been looking at them and wanted some feedback on the ride quality. does it ride close to factory or is it stiffer when going over bumps that causes it the comfort ability of the vehicle to go down?

Love the video! How much weight are the vossen 20x9 wheels?
Both wheels weight just about the same. Stock wheel/tire at about 51.4lbs and 20” HF-5 and tire at about 50.8lbs

Love those wheels! Don’t like how the stock type r wheels have that red ring around them.
I like the red ring on mine but I do like the style and offset of the Vossen’s. If I could afford them I’d buy a set for my FK8

Did you guys tune it after installing the new parts? I'd imagine it would need tuning to get any performance gains over stock. I installed an intake in my civic and AFR's were all out of whack until I got a dyno tune.

The Type R is a masterclass in fwd magic with big power 4cyls....unless you need 1800+whp this engine is more than enough to make 600whp on stock block or 1000+ with a built motor
