For those of us that grew up in this era, it's an amazing piece of history, no different than a rare painting, sculpture or vase. For those saying it's way too much money, file this under noneyo, as in it none of your bussiness how others spend their money.

Been messin with cars my whole life, and if this doesnt fall into the "somebody's got more money than they've got sense" category then i dont know what does.
The classic car market has been ruined by rich guys who happen to like classic cars, and it has totally disenfranchised the average buyer.
Have watched many classics go thru the auction block that brought 20-30 grand over what they were actually worth because it ended up being a bidding war between a couple people with deep pockets, and it progressively got worse year after year and drove up the market to utter insanity.
This is what forced the blue collar guys like myself to stop going to car auctions other than being a spectator.
Watch Barret Jackson for a perfect example and watch whos bidding.
Some rich guy recently forked over a million bucks for the infamous black ghost challenger along with its fairy tale story (literally) of owning the street back in the day which compelled this guy to pay this insane amount, bit thats another story for another day.
At the end of the day if the rich guys would stop buying these cars the classic car values would drop like a lead balloon to a more sensible level.

While waiting for your trailer to get into position, tornado sirens go off and the sky goes dark and the wind picks up.
Your ex wife who hates your guts, sees that you bought it and waits for the right moment to vandalize your investment... and the worst part is you don't even know she knows about the deal... let alone that she was even there at the event.
A losing bidder walks by with a key and does a number on it out of jealousy.
The engine blows while you're showing it off after winning the bid.
A thief steals it because the keys are still in the ignition... then proceeds to hit several vehicles as he makes his way out of the parking area, then leads COPs on a high speed chase only to try an outrun a train at a crossing but fails.😲
On the highway, some low life driving recklessly with a cell phone in his/her hand loses control of his/her car and cause a major wreck right in front of you, which in turn causes you to lose control and you wreck... then a tractor truck plows right into the trailer housing your 2 million dollar car.
To add insult to injury... the cuda' wasn't even insured yet.
