    I remember my dad taking both front A-pillar chrome and the rear wing off of one of these in a junkyard back in the early "80s.....I was just a 12 year old kid....He paid, believe it or not $75.00 for all of it.🤭🤭....He was gonna put them on his "70 Charger work car but my mother would have nothing of it.😭😭....So he put them up in his garage loft where they still are to this day.🤔🤔

    Yeah the auction fees are crazy. I’m sure a good accountant can deduct that cost under “business expense”. Add the tax issues with this as claiming the sale as income.
    But I’m sure they claim a lot of business expenses, things like shipping to location, or fuel cost and employees cost, and vehicle and trailer costs for shipping. Got have a good accountant.

    Nuts, the buyer will never get that money back as there are very few peeps willing to pay this ridiculous amount in the first place. I only hope that the buyer is a philanthropist who gives back 10-20 times the price of this car to the community annually in form of medical aid to the poor for example. But then again he is probably a complete douche living in his billionaire bubble.

    • @immike1945
      @immike1945 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could have one built for $100,000 maybe 15 years ago. A rotted to death '69 Charger carcass is in the $20,000-$30,000 range right now, and increasing daily. Figure once you acquire that mess, it'll take, on average, one full year to build a Daytona clone from that. That's 2,000 hours @ $100 an hour, minimum. Now we're at $200,000 + the $25,000 initial price on the VIN, which is all that'd be salvageable on the carcass. Figure another $100,000 for the new sheet metal, drivetrain, interior, wiring harness, and all the shiny bits. Now we're at $325,000, at the very least. You'll have a very nice car, but it won't be a numbers matching hemi four speed Daytona. Things have gotten quite expensive in this hobby !
