Glad you’re making videos again. I bought my first two arcade sticks on your recommendations and modded them following your instructions. I can’t thank you enough.
Thank you for this mod tutorial video. I recently bought the Qanba Drone 2 with Gravity Buttons and Joystick. This video made it simple and easy to understand how to mod. Now it’s ready for SF6, MK1 and Tekken 8.
I’m so glad you included testing other levers, especially korean levers in the drone because it’s one of the reasons I don’t go for it since it’s not the friendliest for korean levers since it’s bottom mounted while most sticks I see mount them on the top panel instead. Much appreciated!
Lets get this channel to 100K!! Thankyou for this review!!! looking forward to more reviews. You help us players especially in FGC decide if we should buy or not and whether its worth it to spend our money. Your content provides value
Let me know how you’ll be able to remove the upper casing and opening the rest of the stick w/ the 309mj installed, since the method of removing the bat top for the lever requires you to remove the clip, which I imagine will be hard for such a small hole.
I love your channel! I'm not confident enough to mod sticks on my own...with your content I was able to mod my 8bitdo with a full sanwa set. I appreciate you!😊
I’m a pad player and bought a Drone 2 based in part on your thoughts and insights, and I’m very happy with my purchase. This video is a great guide for modding too. Would the Sanwa stick you use be comparable with all Sanwa gates? I think I want an octagonal gate…but a video going over gate options would also be helpful! Thanks for all the work you’re doing here.
I feel like Qanba have missed a massive opportunity by not allowing more space for the lever. I've got the original drone which is a great entry level stick, now I'm looking at getting a second to allow friends to play in person with me. I was excited when I saw the Drone II, but I won't buy one because I want one with enough space for me to try out a much wider range of levers. Great guide btw, it was your original Drone modding guide that I followed to upgrade my lever and buttons to Sanwa parts.
I remember watching the original Qanba Drone mod tutorial, and now im back with the Drone 2 vid. Im just going to use my original adapater cable you recommended in the first one! Thank you again for the video!
So, a note on the LS-32. There are two versions of that joystick relevant to the discussion, the ls-32 and the ls-32-01, where the 01 denotes that it has a pcb for a 5 pin connector. The ls-32 is just 4 microswitches without a pcb like most American and Korean joysticks, sometimes called the "fastener" version, and I was able to get one of those to fit in a Drone 1 with the default wiring harness by bending the pins. Generally speaking if short collar K-levers fit, that version should fit.
his quality is just too good for what he makes - really appreciate your reviews - wishing you great success in whatever endeavors in life you decide to do.
Great video! I have pre-ordered this stick and can’t wait to get it. My first stick ever. Can you give your recommendations for buttons and lever to replace the original parts?
Thank you for this tutorial. I am ordering Sanwa parts this week. I love how light and comfortable the Quanba Drone 2 is in my lap but the stock lever feels bad, in my opinion. QCF motions just don’t want to register for games like Third Strike…
Oh man, thx for the video. I could see a problem which I never expected. To get the JLF into the Drone seems easy going with the 5-pin cable. But I also planned to put the Drone Stick into an other Arcade Stick. But don‘t know how that should work (never saw a 5-pin with opposite plugs)
I was lucky enough to grab an original qanba drone on sale for $40 a few years ago. I threw in a jlf and OBSF 30s too but I didn't know about the pin connector so I just soldered it on to the exposed pins. I use it as my stick to travel with since my other ones are huge
Sad the Semitsu doesn't fit, but what if you use the fastener version and not the PCB version of the LS32? I use an LS32 Fastener version on my Hori, and I think it should fit the Drone 2.
My exact thoughts. I have them at home and it really makes alot of difference for example on my Tes+ the ls32 fits perfectly if I use the switches and a 187 connector but not with the standard pcb
great guide. I watched your qanba drone 1 modding video first as that was my first arcade stick and both videos are very helpful for me as i want to trade in their buttons and levers for sanwa. It's a little bit of a shame though because watching this and your review makes me feel like there arent many upsides to second model for its price but i have not felt it in my hands myself of course
Have you tried installing a 309mj into the stick fully? Can’t imagine how you’d be able to open up the entire stick since the bat top and shaft of the lever comes in one piece unlike the sanwa’s where you have go screw on the ball top.
I have not, actually on the drone, i use it on my rap4 mostly, you would just need to assemble after screwing it in, the shaft and bat-top are usually comes detached.
Thank you for this video. So, how do you make sure the joystick is compatible with the Qanba? The screws have to fit. What are the dimension requirements?
Well, the LS-32 fastener-type (called the Seimitsu LS-32-SC-K (.187 Fastener Type) with RE Plate (2017 Model) on the Focus Attack site) with the stock Qanba Drone joystick microswitch wires will do... Also, the LS-33, LS-55, and LS-56 should also be compatible, though the LS-56 is the only one with the PCB...
How were you able to open the arcade stick? Even with taking off the cover and the screws on the back it was still a little hard to open. I didn’t want to forcefully pull it because I was afraid of breaking it. On the instructions it says don’t disassemble so I wonder if anyone else has had this problem or maybe it’s the way they made mine to where it’s hard to open. Thanks for your help
@@lukass1727 Yeah I realized after I wrote this comment 🤦🏾♂️ lol. I was actually able to change out the buttons and put new ones in but thank you for your response I appreciate it
