I just got the new 2023 8bitdo stick (for xbox and PC) and it's really good.. already in the modding process with it, i've changed the buttons from stock to Seimitsu and i'm waiting for a Seimitsu LS56 stick to arrive shortly which i'll be installing using the soldering method. A tip for anyone is that not all Seimitsu joysticks will fit into this box (same as the previous 8bitdo arcade stick) you must check the depth of each model as there is limited space unless you want to start cutting holes in the base to accommodate it. The LS40 for example will not fit, it's too deep.

I have a spare Madcatz SE that i bought modded with Sanwa lever + buttons for about 80$ (including the original lever and buttons) so i'm tempted to buy this 8bitdo stick, move over the Sanwa hardware to it, and have it as a Player-2 Switch stick (my own is the Hori RAP that i use quite often) if a friend ever wants to try playing on stick (while the Madcatz SE will be modded back to stock).

This totally made my decision between the 8BitDo and Mayflash sticks since I have an old Seimitsu LS-33 I'm planning on using that doesn't have the 5 pin connector, the Mayflash will be much easier. Thank you so much for the hard work to put these videos together.

Great video. Finally decided to mod my one and watching this gave me the confidence that I wouldn't completely stuff it up 😆. One thing that did happen to me when I was installing some new Sanwa buttons, was that when pressing in the L-connector wire, I actually ended up bending the button's connectors. So just be careful that you've pushing the L-connectors in dead straight. Also, another observation was that my copy had standard Phillips head screws holding the case together. I suspect that this is a regional difference (mine was purchased in New Zealand).

But it's good to know that modding the controller wasn't as difficult as one might think

The new revision that comes with philips screws, even fits a Seimitsu LS-32 without any changes. Just use the plate that comes with the 8bitdo. Before you used to have to dril a hole or sand the plastic. It also bits the LS-55, LS-56, LS-58, etc. as they are even smaller.

@@JoystickNY Awesome I’ll be looking out for your review on that one. Personally 8BitDo is a better one stock vs stock and for the price you can’t beat it but Amazon has power A on sale and it’s a better deal which makes up for the no PC portability and some other features (macro/turbo) you get on 8BitDo. I did put in Sanwa joystick and buttons on Fusion stick and it’s amazing now
