I have to say I absolutely love how enthusiastic you are about your reviews. You don't just go through the motions and touch on aspects that everyone else does. Your love for arcade sticks and fighting games really come through! Keep up the fantastic work!
I really love that you took the time to show how you would improve the design if you had the opportunity instead of just going "I don't like this" and moving on. Your channel is one the absolute best when it comes to arcade sticks and FGC content. I look forward to all your uploads :)
That's exactly what I was gonna say. I'm only at 6:25 in and I'm amazed by the fact you actually took the time to, well, redesign it. And show it. Damn dude that's dedication. I watch plenty of product reviews just like everyone else and this is the first time I've seen someone do this. Big props and big thanks! Your content is much appreciated! Onto the rest of the video now
True. It's really good to see he took the time to elaborate on how to improve the design. I don't know why these companies don't just get 10 fighting gamers and have them talk about how to improve the design before even sending their prototype to be manufactured in the first place ! Blows my mind.
Really liked the photoshop portion of the video. I could visualize what you were saying as far as the changes you'd make, but it was neat seeing you go out of your way to rearrange the layout.
⚠️ Quick note ⚠️ 1️⃣The drone 1 May not work with Native PS5 Games if the Game does not support Ps4 controllers or Sticks. So even though the Drone 1 works on the ps5, Theres a chance it may not work on SF6 or Tekken 8 On the PS5. Thank you to knightsabre and Robert for the reminder. 🙏 2️⃣ The Ps4/Ps5 mode connection has been solved, you have to plug into steam on pc mode, then pc mode will work. if you plug into steam on ps4/ps5 mode, steam will work too, but if you switch to pc mode, the stick will disconnect. 3️⃣ i was going too fast and forgot to mention you do need a extra cable to connect it to a sanwa lever, for now refer to my drone 1 video, i will make a drone 2 mod guide soon
Solid review. I can't wait for the gravity buttons review as crown samducksa buttons are my go to so a comparison to those would be great given that Qanba uses a different style of switch compared to the cherry MX silvers in the crown buttons. I am also surprised in the premium Qanba line they don't seem to have the gravity buttons unless they will have the option on their site to buy it with the gravity ones like they have for one of the two versions of their silent stick.
You're incredibly articulate on why and why not you like something, as someone not even interested in buying one of these, you're just a joy to listen to.
Been waiting specifically for this video! I bought the drone 1 two years ago because of you and knew you’d have stuff to say about the update. Glad to know I can keep using it without worrying about getting an upgrade just yet. Keep up the awesome work dude!
Thank you, appreciate you, keep in mind even tho the drone 1 works on ps5, it may not work on some ps5 native games if they dont make it to work for backward controllers ❤️🙏
No entry level fightstick should cost more than $100. It otherwise defeats the purpose of labeling it as "entry level". Qanba needs to go back to the drawing board with the Drone series. I believe they didn't want to cannibalize sales of the original Drone fightstick, which is why the Drone 2 is somewhat of a let down.
Haven't owned a Qanba since the Q1. I'm intrigued by the Drone 2. I just wish that with the price almost being doubled that they were using Sanwa buttons and a JLF. I didn't like when Hori shifted to their first party hardware on the HRAP either when we get into the $150+ range. I do like that your critiques also had suggestions to add substance to your opinions
this was the first video I came across but I've watched more on your channel now and every video I watched is super detailed, helpful, and authentic. thanks
I love how he just couldn’t resist completely derailing the point of the video, in order to tell us something about street fighter. That shows true passion
i agree the button placement is very weird. having the L3 R3 etc on the top right also would make them easier to press as they are really common buttons to use in training mode in games, having them on the left is super inconvenient. even putting them behind the stick on the right would be better for most people i think
@@JoystickNY Hot swapping while the game is still running likely will not work, either. If you turn the game off, unplug the stick all the way, put the stick in PC mode, plug it back in, and turn the game back on, it will likely work.
I consider the riffled surface of the Drone 2 as extremely problematic too. It sure will be difficult to clean this device. The only thing worse would be a diamond shaped surface and then rubber.
The new aesthetic scheme is reminiscent of Razer's sticks just without the green, and I like it. Makes it look more premium than it's parts actually are (though they still priced it premium? Quanba, what are you trying to pull here?), even though it means the name has lost it's thematic meaning.
its been so long and now here's another video! I definitely missed your videos man, great to see you back in action, and Ill definitely keep my drone 1 for sure.
I really love your videos. You explain a lot intricate details to these sticks and it helps me out on what kind of fight sticks I wanna get. Can't wait to check up more videos
Bought this right after watching the video yesterday. The stick arrived today, so much easier to swap out buttons and knob. Mayflash f500 is ok, but I dont want to buy an adapter to play ps5 when I can buy this for the same price as the Mayflash and its accessory. The price I think is a bit much since the material feels cheap.
Touch pad over the stick will cause accidental touches as you move your hand around. Your right hand will be more static, so it makes ergonomic sense to put it there.
Aaah i remember when i watched your qanba drone 1 video years ago and buyed my first arcade stick (venom ps4). So nice to see you back. Now i have 7 sticks and join tournaments :P (My main is a stock fighting edge with a nobi bullet top, one of the best arcade sticks ever made for me). I notice that the prices are doubled, but the quality remains the same. In most cases the ideas are lacking, hope we'll see some actually interesting controllers in the future. I miss those times when you could buy a mayflash f300 for 50 bucks (official, not used) and the controllers were amazing! Again, nice to see you back ;)
It’s great some new sticks are coming out. I’ve noticed in the past few years the market dried up with not much new being released. I’m keen to get a new stick this year for SF6 and T8, been using a modded rap4 Kai for the past few years so due an upgrade.
@@JoystickNY Yeah true it’s a solid stick and I’m still going to keep it. Added a 2lb spring to the hori lever which helps a lot for me but I just fancy a stick with a headphone port and one that opens a bit easier for swapping buttons and perhaps to try a button different layout.
I love my drone 1 but the same dislike you had was the cable placement, after a year the cable broke because it was getting pinched by my thigh. I decided to mod my drone by adding a 5-pin to usb-c adapter so I could easily swap consoles by using a usb-c cable, i also put it at the center. everything works and i'm disabled so it's nice to not have to ask for help when swapping from pc to ps5. I hope qanba fix this in future stick design but if not it's fairly easy to mod the boxes
You know what else is missing on the Drone 2? There’s no tournament lock on and off switch like they did with the Drone 1 and Qanba forgot about that. Haha lucky for me, I took your advice and I still have my Drone 1 and I thank you for the review.
I wonder if the PC mode input would show up in apps with key-tracking options, just to see what the controller is sending to the PC. Personally I would use AutoHotkey to do this. Any script would do. It could literally just be one word: _return._ Run the script, go to the "Show Hidden Icons" option on your taskbar, Left-Click it. Find your scripts icon: Right-Click it. Find Open: Left-Click it. A window will come up. Find View: Left-Click it (or Alt+V). Find Key History and script info: Left-Click it (or K). Now, if the PC is receiving any input from the controller, it will show up here. It likely will list the Down & Up of any button or switch separately and what the PC is calling those inputs. They might not show up at all, this is just one simple test.
Great videos! I’ve never owned an arcade stick before. I’m on PlayStation 5. Would you recommend the drone 2 over the Mayflash F300? What about the HORI Alpha? Is that one worth the money over the first 2? What’s my best option? Money is not an issue for me.
i want to mention a couple notes, for the lever you cant just swap out the lever to sanwa parts because the standard jlf has the switches soldered onto a pcb that leads to a 5 pin output, but qanba's default wiring requires the cables to connect direct to the switches, which would make it impossible to just buy a jlf and connect it, you would need to also buy a 5 pin zero encoder and swap the default wiring with the encoder. also for the hardware mode switching to console and pc, when you swapped to PC mode your machine actually connected the controller (climbing pitch noise confirms) to the machine as it reads it as its own device, swapping to ps4 or ps5 mode disconnects your controller(low pitch dun dun noise), and when it rereads the device in ps4 or ps5 mode, windows 10 natively recognizes your controller in the ball park of a DS4 controller and not a "qanba drone". PC ports are weird (Blazblue wont read any new devices after its launched so you have to close the game if you want to connect anything new) but whats going on here in your example is that when you swap to PC mode, if SFV can still read new devices while its open, the reason why you cant control your character is because every FG allocates player control to the specific device, but since PC mode completely changes how your controller is detected on your machine, SFV reads it as if its a different device than what was set to be player 1 hence you can't control karin, this isnt exactly an issue with the controller itself, but moreso an unnecessary test case if you will because you really shouldnt be swapping device modes while connected to a game anyway
Wow took me a while to read, i am gona definitely double check the modes on my day off, and i will also make another video to address the lever swap, becuz its similar to the drone 1, and req the cable, thank you so much 🙏
Very intersting and usefull video men, I used these to decide what stick to buy. I decide to go on Drone 1, I'am a beginner and I don't wanna to rush or waste my money. Thanks for the review, continue like these, I'll follow you ;)
Were you shooting that outside footage in Rockefeller Park, and around Battery Park City, on the Hudson?😅 Anyways, love how you give fighting game tips towards the end of your fightstick reviews😂
You are really a beast, dude i come to see how good is this new arcade stick, and actually wan't to learn things about SFV, and then you show us Karin and teach us things for us newbie, awesome, as always very great content, keep it up !
The reason the trackpad doesn't go on the side is a matter of cost. Other than the top, the entire body is 1 vacuum formed piece of plastic with only a few cuts done with a single die pass, which keeps the price of the final stick LOW, a large cutout like that as well as mounting it, would require several extra steps in manufacturing. The shape of the trackpad is an issue with Sony's software mapping, short version being that even with extra processing, the pad still has to stay the same horizontal and vertical proportions as the original PS4 trackpad. They did what they could with it, given it's intended price (though apparently they messed up reaching that price). 🤷♀️
First: 3 videos in 3 weeks! You're spoiling us! Second: thanks for confirming what I was worried about with this stick. Third: thought about posting videos of just you livestreaming sfv/sf6? I'd love to watch you play ranked and pick up some tips!
Not as "entry level" as Drone 1, but looks good... If I get my hands on one, I'll get the buttons in different colors and a colored ball top to make it pop...
I’ve been looking into getting an arcade stick and I believe I’ll just go with the drone 1 but the thing I like about the drone 2 is the headphone Jack since my monitor doesn’t have speakers built in but I play on pc so it doesn’t really bother me
yo someone hire this man on to help design controllers. It's funny cause I was saying to myself that he was making too big a fuss about the layout but then when he showed his ideas in PS I immediately agreed
Mate, I would love to see a company reach out to you and employ your skills to design a stick. Your design idea is way better than stock, I would pay good money for your vision of what Qanba drone 2 should be, whereas I can't bring myself to purchase the cluttered mess that it currently is
I love your knowledge and opinion on sticks, but I can't find a review of the monoprice dark matter. Is it not very good or just something just equal to something else you prefer?
I use the original Qanba Drone. It's okay. The buttons are hollow and loud, but it works. The stick feels loose but it functions. The biggest problem is it doesn't have suction cups on the bottom. Playing stuff like SFV the slightest jar, and you can't do QC moves right. I ultimately ended up TAPING it down! The main reason I'm buying the new one is because you simply can't play a lot of fighting games without the touch pad for continues etc. For SF fighting collection I actually had to hit the PS button to get the continue option EVERY TIME I lost! Ugh! As a guy who will spend a ton of time playing the Capcom fighting collection soon as well as SF6 I got to remedy that. I don't care about the looks of Qanba 2, and I'll probably end up taping it down again or building a clamp.
Heyyy I absolutely love your videos they are helping me choose out which arcade stick I want to get but are you going to do a review on the Hori PS5 Arcade stick
Extra buttons on top of a stick is always a turn off. There's so much space on the sides and back, why do companies still do this? That's why ever since I've bought an Etokki (two, actually,) I can't prefer any other stick, it just makes sense. And you can replace all the buttons yourself since it uses standard 24mm and 30mm, I just keep upgrading the PCB. I also do have the 8bitdo since it's small and has Bluetooth for lazy couch playing.
Thanks for the review. Do you a entry level stick that you recommend for modding with a Korean lever ? Thanks again, I'm glad you're back doing videos.
I don’t know if you’ve answered this in a different video only stumbled upon your channel. I was wondering between the Titan in this one what would you recommend would be a good arcade stick fighting, and a side scroll arcade game for the PlayStation five
If you're playing Street Fighter 5 on your PC through Steam, the reason why it works on the PS modes could be due to steam having Playstation Controller support.
@@JoystickNY it could be conflicting with the generic settings that steam also has. Who knows, Try checking big picture mode! They recently revamped it so the menus are weird but there should still be a controller settings page somewhere.
With that trackpad being so close to the buttons, the Drone 2 needed a lock switch way more than the original Drone does. It's a shame that they removed that switch on the Drone 2, but, since the Titan has one, I think they did that and also made the rubber pads on the Drone 2 comically smaller than the original Drone's because otherwise nobody would buy the Titan.
Love your videos! I'm a new player to SF6, and interested in investing a higher end arcade stick. Will you do the QANBA Q8 Silent Arcade Joystick review? Want to know will being quiet sacrifice the overall quality of the product. Thank you for the good work!
I have the drone 1, actually bought it because of your recommendation. Sadly I think I will be passing on the drone 2, it is just too high of a price for a entry stick. My money is better spent on the hori alpha.
Very informative; thank you very much! I’m looking to get my first stick and heard the drone 2 was a great entry level It’s “unfortunate” the price for the drone 1 and 2 are not similar; considering the drone 1 and 2 are very similar Either way, thanks again!

Very intersting and usefull video men, I used these to decide what stick to buy. I decide to go on Drone 1, I'am a beginner and I don't wanna to rush or waste my money. Thanks for the review, continue like these, I'll follow you ;)
Anytime my friend thank you
Were you shooting that outside footage in Rockefeller Park, and around Battery Park City, on the Hudson?😅
Anyways, love how you give fighting game tips towards the end of your fightstick reviews😂
Good eyes 🤣 yes, i was at battery park and world trade area🙏❤️
Glad to have you back!!!
Appreciate you
7:50 Great side by side comparison
Thank you 🙏
You are really a beast, dude i come to see how good is this new arcade stick, and actually wan't to learn things about SFV, and then you show us Karin and teach us things for us newbie, awesome, as always very great content, keep it up !
Thank you so much 🙏❤️
4:40 I agree the top does look a bit JAMMED !!!
thank you for watching 🙏❤️
The ps5 and 4 controllers are plug and play on PC, the PC specific mode may require some kind of driver update for some reason.
Ya i need to double check that ty
Well said 👍
First: 3 videos in 3 weeks! You're spoiling us!
Second: thanks for confirming what I was worried about with this stick.
Third: thought about posting videos of just you livestreaming sfv/sf6? I'd love to watch you play ranked and pick up some tips!
Appreciate you, possibly someday i wish to try twitch streaming 🙏❤️
Not as "entry level" as Drone 1, but looks good...
If I get my hands on one, I'll get the buttons in different colors and a colored ball top to make it pop...
Love it, thank you for watching
You have a very relaxing mood. I guess you never get salty.
Some times i watch your videos like an asmr kind.😅
I never do lol, losing is better than winning, becuz u learn more, if u always win, u wont know what u r doing wrong or not doing as good,
Just ordered mine super hyped for sf6 and a nice stick to add to the collection
Enjoy my friend, i am excited for st6
i dont know where to buy a drone 1 .. the amazon link doesnt work either.Im from EU. WOuld love some help
I have never used an arcade stick and I want one with a Korean lever for Tekken 8…What would you recommend? Cheap options are preferable
One day we'll get a fight stick designed by you, and when that day comes = First Day Purchase.
🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️ thank you ❤️❤️❤️ hope the dream come true some day
such a helpful and detailed review! thank you!
Hello @JoystickNY, which entry level stick would you buy to play tekken 8 on ps5? Thanks for your great videos!
Very informative, thank you!
Hey! Good to see you back at work! I hope you will review hitboxes as well
Will do 🙏❤️ thank you
I’ve been looking into getting an arcade stick and I believe I’ll just go with the drone 1 but the thing I like about the drone 2 is the headphone Jack since my monitor doesn’t have speakers built in but I play on pc so it doesn’t really bother me
Did you get it ?
yo someone hire this man on to help design controllers. It's funny cause I was saying to myself that he was making too big a fuss about the layout but then when he showed his ideas in PS I immediately agreed
🤣 appreciate you , i would say i was prob quite hard on that layout lol, but if i dont complaint, they wont improve ❤️🙏
Which one is better (lever and buttons): Qanda or 8bitdo?
Mate, I would love to see a company reach out to you and employ your skills to design a stick. Your design idea is way better than stock, I would pay good money for your vision of what Qanba drone 2 should be, whereas I can't bring myself to purchase the cluttered mess that it currently is
I appreciate you, hopefully someday i have the opportunity to design a product,
Thanks for the review, Qanba Drone 1 sf6 work on ps5 version?
Yess!!!!! more CONTENT :)
❤️❤️❤️
WELCOME BACK DAWG!!!!!!! Hope you been well.
Appreciate you bro
I feel you, heavier stick definitely helps, or double side gel tape
the best reviewer!
Appreciate the kind words 🙏❤️
Just got the Obsidian 2. Honestly I think I F'd up. It's nice but not $300 nice. Maybe should've gotten this or the Titan 2
Agree, i am not a fan of the button design
Thanks for the review.
Do you a entry level stick that you recommend for modding with a Korean lever ?
Thanks again, I'm glad you're back doing videos.
Theres not many , maybe a mid lvl one like the rap 4 or rap
I don’t know if you’ve answered this in a different video only stumbled upon your channel. I was wondering between the Titan in this one what would you recommend would be a good arcade stick fighting, and a side scroll arcade game for the PlayStation five
I love your content, keep it up!
thank you for watching 🙏❤️
i see in europe here finally a store sells arcade stick, its the qanba drone 2 and its 60eur "$65" since you said its 140$ or something let go :)
Would you recommend theh qanba crystal fightstick over the drone 2?
So you don’t need to replace the joystick with a Sanwa to use an 8 way restrictor?
Thank you for this Great Review ! 👍
thank you for watching 🙏❤️
If you're playing Street Fighter 5 on your PC through Steam, the reason why it works on the PS modes could be due to steam having Playstation Controller support.
Make sense, curious why the pc to pc dont work , ty for the input
@@JoystickNY it could be conflicting with the generic settings that steam also has. Who knows, Try checking big picture mode! They recently revamped it so the menus are weird but there should still be a controller settings page somewhere.
🙏❤️
With that trackpad being so close to the buttons, the Drone 2 needed a lock switch way more than the original Drone does. It's a shame that they removed that switch on the Drone 2, but, since the Titan has one, I think they did that and also made the rubber pads on the Drone 2 comically smaller than the original Drone's because otherwise nobody would buy the Titan.
I love the Psd part and you are right qanba drone 1 is superior in many aspects and cheaper
Thank you
Love your videos! I'm a new player to SF6, and interested in investing a higher end arcade stick. Will you do the QANBA Q8 Silent Arcade Joystick review? Want to know will being quiet sacrifice the overall quality of the product. Thank you for the good work!
I have a few sticks in line; i ll see later on if i can pick 1 up, but also; u can buy a silent lever without spending money on a brand new stick
I have the drone 1, actually bought it because of your recommendation. Sadly I think I will be passing on the drone 2, it is just too high of a price for a entry stick. My money is better spent on the hori alpha.
Then d2 not worth the upgrade if u already own the d1
Great video and good insight. Were you using an octagonal gate or square gate when you were playing street fighter?
Square
Very informative; thank you very much!
I’m looking to get my first stick and heard the drone 2 was a great entry level
It’s “unfortunate” the price for the drone 1 and 2 are not similar; considering the drone 1 and 2 are very similar
Either way, thanks again!
Any time my friend
Looking forward to the Qanba Titan review!!
Will do 🙏❤️
