      Hi Marge, "as long as I can put a line in the water".... well, remember it's a pretty expensive sport!
      Even a handline from the dock can be expensive, first you have licence costs, line, hooks, sinkers, bait etc.
      Luckily here in Australia if you are a pensioner like me, your pension card is a "free fishing" card.
      I love every chance I get to going out fishing with my brother, he works with Northbridge Marina in Sydney Harbour and has 3 boats, and the game fisher has been in the family for 15yrs.
      Happy fishing and tight lines!

    I realized the constant Forward Motion keeps tension on them but it seems to also line the bill up with the line . They start swinging a lot at the surface seems like they're more likely to break off or cut the line . Just an observation . I understand why you want to keep tension on them especially while you're fishing by yourself .

    there's probably something to old freezer burned baits. think what happens when you defrost frozen fruit. the freezing process breaks a bunch of cells and makes them ooze. You'd think the same thing would happen with fish. more oils and smells coming out that let the fish find it easier and from further distances.

    I love fishing by myself, if someone doesn't share the passion, it's almost a chore fishing with them. I've taken so many people fishing and regretted it as soon as we're out on the water. My best times are by my onsie.

    Dude you got me nervous on the solo trips, have you ever looked at the little fanny pack inflatables or wireless kill switches? Sorry for being a Karen , lost a captain I used to work for falling off his boat while in gear. Just had to comment ! Love the videos.

    Maybe use a smaller hook? To get the fish to swallow it better? I don't know, I'm pulling at straws here 😄
    Great content! Keep it real 💯

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      just all depends on the fish, the small fish always seem to play with it a lot and never completely eat it making bad hook placements. all luck honestly in my opinion lol

    that little one just wanted to be on Utube. you need a come-a-long or a small block and tackle to help you load fish when alone. if you know of any really old houses? look for the old window sash's those make good weights I just don't know if they are heavy enough for what you need. stay safe thanks for the mini vacation

      @Key West Waterman great idea to try and make your bait struggle against the weighted jig head. I'm going to remember that trick

    What about adding an extra hook towards the end of the bait? I sure hate to see them go
    Lol

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've though about tryin it but odds are it may cause a tangle with the bait being so long. but who knows maybe ill give it a shot

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      just like any other fish, not hooked that great. head shakes. and swords have extremely soft mouths. you can pull a hook right through them.
