I've been watching Aaron for a while now. Great captain, great channel. However, this is why he's a legend. Bro single-handedly took down one of the oceans top APEX predators. Unreal.
Lordie! Hell of a fish for solo work. What a monster sword. About 30 years ago I did some part time commercial fishing up in New England . Mostly pot fishing for scup, but also did quite a bit of offshore for mako and tuna. Made a few solo trips tuna trolling. At about 2:00 in your video I LOL'd. You move the gaff to the port side and the fish ends up on the stbd! Been there! Sweeeeet mahi.
haha thanks! Thats awesome, I wish we got a good run of the big tunas, thats pretty sweet! and LOL never a dull moment on the open ocean! thanks for watching! hope you enjoy the vids!
Amazing & Impressive & Envious plus much more. I have pictures of my G'pa who owned & operated a charter boat in the N.E. I still live in the same town. I have pictures of him with all the APEX predators and tuna and more. He would leave the docks in Niantic, Connecticut and head out past Montauk on a usual day. The fish were much closer to Montauk than they are now. I saw your Diving at Montauk video. You remind me of him quite a bit. Attitude wise that is. He would go out solo all the time. He caught lots of Swordfish ( when there were still lots of swordfish) around. His more impressive pic is of him and his 17 foot , 1200 lb Mako at the dock in Niantic river. I wish you the best of all things. I love your lifestyle and the way you fish, especially the catches you produce. With all due respect I love your lady as well. It must be so much fun to fish the way you do with Madeline being super supportive and actually going out with you. I bet all the guys you asked out that day are kicking themselves in the ass. One good thing is you don't have to worry on how to divide the fish up . PS.. Last week my buddy and I were fluking and black sea bass fishing out at Montauk . The action was slow and as we decided to move and a Brown Shark nailed my squid as soon as I lifted the rod, The rod was completely set up with 30 ib gear. Since they are protected we released him boat side totally unharmed. Except for a small hole in the corner of his mouth. We estimated the shark at about 200 lbs. An hour fight. What a blast. Watching you do your thing makes me respect you all the more. BTW.. Where can I find Tile Fish frames here in Connecticut ? pffft
If I lived down there I would go with you just to watch and help you when needed. I love watching all your videos and I will be waiting for the next one.stay safe
Nice catch!! I can only imagine how nerve wracking it must have been to catch it only to not be able to get it in the board. Nice job thinking on your feet. Thank you for making this video and others it is a great escape to watch. Thanks again.

I got tickled...when the first call was 100lbs.....then realized it was 3X that size....one hell of a fish and job catching him...can't imagine trying to boat a fish that is nearly the size of the boat...especially by yourself...well done Arron!!!
Aaron, you are the freaking man! You tell is in the title of this episode that it's 324lb., but yet you were guessing about 100lb. when he was still down. Amazing accomplishment on your part, for sure. What also amazes me is the seemingly supernatural resilience of a critter like that. The thing was down at bone crushing depths at least twice. It'd be like throwing a human out of a space capsule...and they lived. Insane.

And you looking up at the camera telling us this is why you don't do this solo. Truly epic for sure. Next time you need a partner just call me ill meet you and pay for fuel.......lol 😆

Like you do with so many of your vids where you give proceeds of commercial sales, it would have been nice to know what this monster brought at the market.

Maybe the bait you are using just isn’t going to be taken by those fish? I guess only big sharks are that powerful… great content, learning a lot about something I wouldn’t have known otherwise. Thx
the biggest "fish" out there you could hook with this style of fishing is a swordfish. on very very rare occasion a marlin. but you would never fish so hard to risk sinking the boat if that makes sense. and most peoples gear would never allow it. it would give out before hand.
