You know we love a good makeover, but this one was something special. We got to turn Daniella's backyard from a divided empty space to some serious ~garden goals~. Gardening was definitely a new experience for us but the result was amazing. Maybe we have a few more backyard transformations in our future? Thanks so much for watching!

daniella pleeeaaase give us an update when the garden is all done up!! it already looks amazing but a full garden will make it ✨FLAWLESS✨
Yes please i would love to see an update
You guys should totally do more outdoor spaces!! They are the best videos
So glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
@@TheSorryGirls Any chance you guys could link the exact string lights that you used, even if its not for sale online.. They were very cool.
would have been cool if the fence hand hanging plants coming off it
I wish they added hanging plants to it
Grape vines would be an amazing addition.
Thought the same!
@@jn819 ya but they're so invasive!
Yeah and maybe a cute tapestry
The Sorry Girls with their next level employee benefits...goals
I think this is one thing about the girls that I really love. Family & friends as filming guinea pigs! 📽️ 🐹 😂
Hahaha true
What benefits?
That is BRILLIANT to use the existing cement to make it a cute path to the tables. I never would’ve thought you could redo the layout with that in place. Great job ladies!
"Random dancing" made me laugh so much, Kelsey you are a queen! 😂😂😂😂😂
Jelena Baka someone else is an iCarly fan!
We all cry laughed when we watched the video together 😂
In my yard, the previous owner had threaded vines through all of the wire fencing. It makes it look SO beautiful and like a garden, and it's a great way to add some privacy!
I love what you did with Daniella's backyard, the new garden area in the front is a better more doable size. Loving the hanging lights, it really gives it that cool outdoorsy vibe. There are so many wonderful touches, especially the fence that gives a little more privacy. The overall finished space is just amazing.
I wish this was a whole series! I love outdoor videos 🤷🏻♀️💕
Jade Durbin same! Some of my favorite types of videos but it’s hard to find ones like this 😭
I like this format of video A LOT. the narrating with the footage gives a whole new vibe to the video. EXCELLENT JOB on everything! it looks dope!
Thank you so much! We'll definitely be making more in this format soon 👀
Daniella could also add some plant pots to the fence to get more privacy and it would look so cool with hanging plants. Great job you guys, it looks so much better!
Thats what I was thinking too!
I think once she plants some flowers in those garden beds it will finish the look off completely!
Those holes in the concrete might have had poles for a clothesline in them, I have seen that before in older gardens. Maybe you can put poles for climbing plants in them... or for more string lights ;-)
remmirath42 I think hardware stores can thread poles for you to screw into the concrete if the female end imbedded in the concrete is threaded.
Or use it as it clothesline! We need to bring that back.
I love the "Random Dancing" part so much. Justin is such a fun editor. Loved the whole transformation of the backyard. Great job 👌
you guys did a great job but to a gardener it's really apparent that you guys are more accustomed to doing indoor spaces (i notice because of the plant selection, they won't do that well in your weather) and also a bunch of things that won't look as great once they've been wet a bunch of times. (like candles and stuff) but overall, good job, you'll be experienced in no time
Most of the decor stuff is just more of a staging thing like relators and interior designers do in houses before showing them. It would look bland if they didn’t so I’m sure a lot of it wouldn’t stay out in the weather all the time
Yea I think it was decor for the party specifically. But what an inciteful and encouraging critique!
I know I'm a little late to the party on this one, but as a landscape architect, I have to agree. They've used an interior design logic on an outdoor space, which can work for covered areas, but ultimately will be a bit sad in the long run. Potted plants are pretty high-maintenance for outdoors and it seems like a waste of available soil volume when you could plant into the ground. In general there are some missed opportunities here and maybe not ideal use of materials. I am impressed with their first attempt, but I'm sure it will get better with more practice!
Awesome to see so many "experts" on their videos
Love this! Would also love to see you guys give the total amount of what you spent and if you stayed on a specific budget.
and how long it all took! :)
They said in another comment it was about $650 CAD if that gives you an idea about how much it cost!
I love you guys so much! Please please please do more eco-friendly hacks and diys
Yes yes yes
Thinks $70 is too much for a table, spends $40 on a lantern
But they can make a table, a lantern is harder to get cheaper by being thrifted/made.
@@Katie-fv6ej exactly what I was just thinking! :p
@@Katie-fv6ej your thrift stores must be shit then.
Thats prolly why they didnt wanna buy an expensive table they already bought an expensive lantern lol
The lantern was solar. Building a solar lamp can be expensive, and I have yet to find a working one at a thrift store.
That backyard was so depressing before, like why 😭 why make something look so tragic. The after was so much better 😄 Daniella need to show how it looks when it's growing in the garden area. It still needs more colors.
😭😭😭😭😭because we live in Toronto and the housing market is insanity.
@@thatmegsgirl It cost a leg and an arm for a small-ass apartment
Megan W I don't see any reason to put ugly concrete in the backyard tho. They are way prettier materials out there. Some nice pebbles or just let it grow grass all over 😄
i would plant some ivy to the fences... i don't think it's that expensive and will definitely help with privacy!
but maybe not the easiest to get your neighbors on board... :')
Maybe some Clematis or honeysuckle.
If it was grapevines, the neighbors might be on board with that...
Or star jasmine if it grows well in the area.
Or something local and not invasive to help the natural ecosystem in the area that also gives her some privacy.
what an awesome transformation. I love how little changes made a huge impact and the big changes totally transformed the space.
Garden "makeovers" are a long term project that take more time than an indoor makeover. Some additions like a climbing vine to the fences would work better for privacy. Beans or peas could be used if she wants the addition of an edible garden or morning glory, honeysuckle vine for flowers. The use of a trellis would also create more privacy. Looking on places like facebook market place would be a nice discount option for outdoor planters and plants. Also stringing together extension cords is a wildly dangerous fire hazard.
LOVE IT! and i loved seeing three women transform a backyard, it makes me feel more confident in changing up mine, instead of hiring people or asking a man to help
Becky!! i have the same free people jacket! so cozy for Canadian fall and winter! looks gorgeous and we twinning!
looks a lot better! just wodering why you picked up indoor plants or didnt just plant them in the soil
That was nothing short of AMAZING!!! It looks so *BLEEPING* GOOD!!!
the poles holding the string lights don't seem safely secured to the ground
probably because that's not the right way to install poles. A for effort I guess?
they were LAZY with those poles
That's what I was thinking. They look really crooked.
@@AL-ec5bc I'm guessing Daniela is a renter, so concrete supports in the ground is not an option. Gotta be able to tear that stuff out when ya move! :)
I think its so she can take them down in the winter. The wood would rot otherwise and noone wants electric lights out in winter. I think its better this way, than if they poured concrete into the ground and stuck the poles in.
I LOVED the way the hanging fence turned out! That's such a great idea! 💚🙌
Wow! This backyard makeover is incredible. Love the shopping tour!
Kelsey is wearing a SPICE girls T-shirt. Something new I have not seen before. Woohoo!
The wooden wall you guys built is a perfect place for cute planters with hooks to make a plant wall! It could be an herb garden or just normal flowers, either way, it would be so cute and add more greenery!
What I don't get: Why paint the picnic table black but leave the other one in its natural color? It looks mismatched and weird tbh.
True! They should of kept the look of the wood as it would match the boards on the fencing too
The wood on the smaller table compliments the fence. Maybe if the bigger table were to be natural it would make the space look too busy and cramped.
The paint acts as a protectant to raw wood... Duh
I'm pretty sure TSG crews transformations are my favorites! This makeover was awesome!
Watching this for the second time because i'm in quarantine and this video is satisfying af
I had no idea what you gals would do with this space and am CRAZY impressed! Awesome job!
The grass transplanting was giving me anxiety but the sod was such a good idea!!
you actually contributed to the increase in property value with this transformation! i loved it so muchhh
I luvvvvve when you fix with plants and gardens and everything around it!!😍😍😍❤️
I think it would be super cool to see you guys transform a vintage trailer! (Or any trailer really) my parents have one from the 70’s and I’m trying to figure out what to do to make it cuter while still holding the 70’s vibe.
Also I loved the backyard transformation and would love to see you guys do more outdoor spaces!
i love it sooo much when you guys decorate outdoor spaces!!
Wow !! You guys were so hard working & it looks great !! So calm & relaxing !! Great job !!!
I absolutely love this!! My fave transformation by FAR!!! Gave me some ideas for my patio. 💕💕 Love all the hard work you put into your videos!
Love love love videos like this! Im moving into a new house and am having to redo the strange backyard set up. Lots of good inspo from this!
This was honestly one of your best videos I have seen. It was amazing!!
Love you girls and all you do! I would suggest you check out Big Lots for patio and gardening needs. Also, some large square cement pavers under the picnic table would be nice, to keep mud away. You could also add climbing plants at the bottom of the plank walls. Keep up the lovely work!
Table: 70 bucks.
TSG: soooo expensive!
A smoll light: 33 dollars.
TSG: saaaale, yaaaas.
I loved the angular garden areas in the front of the backyard!!!
Some cool ideas, including the rope/wood faux fence. I think one important improvement would be a separation between the mulch and the grass. It would keep the mulch in place and look more intentional.
Horizontal slat fence looks super cool! I think the string light posts will rot quickly though without concrete in the hole at the base.
WOW, I can't believe how beautiful the backyard makeover turned out AND pretty you both are!!! Thank you for sharing!!! Judy
So cute! I wonder what the final cost was. It's nice to know for reference.
The total final cost was $650 CAD (give or take)! Totally reasonable. :)
Thanks, I was wondering this too as I'm about to move into a place with a clean slate backyard 😲 this turned out great!
@@TheSorryGirls thank you! Love your videos.
wow $650 is so much money, at least in my country with that money I could have bought so many more things, its expensive there lol.
I would LOVE to see a video about your DIY “kit” - like the essentials for making over any space. The drill, sander, stains, etc. 😭 I’m about to move into a place and rly wanna DIY the shit out of it. A solid kit would be a great start!!!
You guys did a great job! Love the team work and creativity! :)
It's like you guys read my mind! My sister and I just got a student apartment with a little yard. This looks so good. Thanks for the inspiration! :D
This is sooo good!! You guys should definitely do more backyard spaces! It would be interesting to see you guys do a smaller backyard ❤️❤️
Wow!! Isn't there anything the sorry girls can't do? Amazing
The yard is now balanced and symmetrical, it looks fantastic!! :-D
omg omg omg!! Would love to see more patio/backyard diy's as it's so hard to get inspo for these areas!! xx
Why did you choose to put the seating in the mulch?
Good question was wondering that too!
Probably bc mulch is cheaper than rocks or stones.
probably a) you're supposed to stay off new sod for a couple weeks until the roots develop, b) sod would die under the picnic table legs, c) easier to mow without obstacles
Lea Lou I was thinking as apposed to in the grass.
Madison Greer Yeah it would just be a pain to have to move to mow.
I’ve been waiting for garden transformations now that I’m on summer break . I’ve been blessed noe
Should’ve cut a hole in the center of the picnic table so she can have an umbrella for some shade
Smart!
Wow you and your team nailed it! These makeover transformation videos you do are my favourite videos!
Wow you guys should do more videos for backyard makeovers, this came out so pretty!
Definitely think this is one of your best makeovers! The space looked so hopeless and sad before.
Put the bamboo rolls up on the fence or reed fencing. I used it at one of my rental place & it worked well for privacy
With that kind of budget Im suprised they didnt actually bought anything for privacy which was one of her main concerns.
Fr the fence they put didn't rlly add privacy
E S that’s a great idea!
Classic Canadian spring: puffer day one, shorts day two.
Oh wow I'm blown away that is awesome ladies
Let us all appreciate these ladies’ hard work. 😍😍😍😍
good job! the backyard is extremely awesome!!
Great job ladies! It’s beautiful!
You guys are geniuses. This is GORGEOUS
Ooooomg I needed this video. I'm about to redo my back yard this weekend
It looks so great! Love your videos!
Perfect spot for a vertical garden on the boards. Looks great!
this new backyard is popping compared to those other backyards!!
This was one of the best video y’all have made in awhile
Looks SO good! Just really hope you didn’t daisy-chain those shorter extension cords, its really unsafe.
I was thinking the same... that smells like an impending disaster.
@Down the you can see @9:40 that it says outdoor on them.
Down the they say outdoor on them
Was thinking that too, even if they are outdoor, daisy chaining any extension cord is a safety hazard
Kelsey v true
I loved that! Would love to see more garden makeovers from you two!
I wanna see more TSG garden makeovers! You guys killed it 💖 (it looked like so much hard work so dont kill me for this comment)
I would've put a table below the garden (like by the step area) and then built seating on top of that ledge, done some cool random chairs on the other side, lined the sides of the garden with plants, left the side to be the vege patch just make it a little smaller, hung the string lights above the dining table and like halfway down the garden then at the back maybe added a little fire pit in and some cool diy Tyre upcycle seating. Everyone has such different visions it's so interesting to see other people's creativity.
Wow, great makeover. Loved it!
this backyard looks amazing!!! such amazing inspo 😍
I really like how they turned the blocks that they couldn't move into a pathway.
Amazing job girls! Love the backyard! ♡♡
Not sure about the double tables... maybe a lounger would have been nice?
That fence idea was genius
that looks so cozyyyy and wonderful
You girls did such a good job! It’s a lot of work cleaning up, and remodeling a whole backyard. If you don’t mind me asking how much was the budget? My fiancé and I have a lot of land and are slowly working on our yard, and what you ladies did here gave me ideas for our back yard.
I loved this video so much, would love to see more gardening videos in the future ❤️
Wow it turned out so nice!! 😍
Are you guys in zone 4? If so, a white wood tree peony would look so amazing behind the picnic table! If you have Netflix, watch Monty Don’s “Big Garden Small Spaces”- the last episode in the second season (I think, or its near the end of the season) shows a white/green (color combo) garden that I think Daniella would love. Especially with the stained 2x4’s color, natural wood, green and white color combos are stunning. Keep up the great work and keep putting out amazing vids! ❤️ love watching your videos, I’ve been a subscriber for over a year! Love, almost-Canadian-northern-Wisconsin-mom-of-three kids.
If you do get a peony, make sure it’s a wood tree peony-they don’t die back to the roots like normal peonies do every winter. And make sure to get a double petal peony-the single peonies (while lovely and stunning as well) don’t have a fragrance, only double bloom peonies have a fragrance.
This is amazing you guys 😭😭😭👏🏻👏🏻💚💚
Love it all. My fav part was the attention to detail on cedar soil edging.
Yes yes yes!!!! More landscaping transformation videos!!!!!
On tip for extension cords is making your own. It can sometimes be cheaper by buying a roll of electrical wire, a female plug end and a Male plug end an boom. A homemade cord whatever custom length you want.
Turned out super cute! 😊
You guys did so good it looks amazing!
Gurls do more backyard (outside) stuff! Great inspo! Hugs
Loved it! Make sure to water the sod with water frequently to make sure it roots and doesn't die!
THAT GARDEN LOOKS SO ROMANTIC!!
