Great vid Gordy, love watching you guys go to work!!. I would love to see a video giving a tour of your badass shop. I've been able to kind of see around in it through some of the other videos but a full on tour would be great! Have a good one boys, stay safe out there.
My buddy and I started a tree service company about a month ago and we just do it on weekends for now. Most fun I ever had and I love running a power saw. Stay safe out there boys
Awesome video Gordy love seeing you tree felling and awesome chainsaw skills like a true bushman and I'm a kiwi bushman and I have been in the logging industry for 35years
Agreed! Hey itd be interesting to see how many of us Kiwis watch Gordy slay trees haha. Im an arborist down in Invercargill but absolutely love the idea of manual felling as a job as opposed to machine felling.
Gord you are a MACHINE... Not many know how strong you have to be to cut that many trees in one day... I did like 6 7 good sized pine trees and I was toast. PS my 462 runs AWESOME with the WCS upgrades!! What an awesome product you have!!!
It's really something seeing a team in the groove. I learn in 45 minutes what took knowledge, expertise, time in field and friendship to accomplish. Now, having about 30 years on ya, I approach every tree with caution when working alone. Being retired I'm my own boss and remembering the Hemlock, I just try not the cheat the hangman. A big blow left the Hemlock 25' tall and 3'+ at the butt, snapped it like a toothpick some 20 years ago. It was leanin the right way, wedges I don't know wedges, what I didn't see was all the foliage that was on the opposite side of the lean. My 20" Mccullah and some time later, finally made it thru but nothing happened then boom there it sat perfectly balanced. Sinching the rope up it started to teeter, me pulling hard until I slipped, then the pissin contest was on. One more pull and sure enough the 3000 pounder was coming right at me, never did the dyeing cockroach so fast in my life, left a 6" divot in the ground. Thanks for sharing, you guys are great.
@@westcoastsaw1368 I love your exit plan Gordy, it's like get away from the stump before the tree hits the ground. That must have come from somewhere, a most excellent safety rule to be sure. You have been cutting trees for so long it's just automatic. Had to use chain and a come along to bring the Aulder I cut today around to keep it out of the creek. It took awhile, the quad helps run errands like when the chain is too short, I have a Honda Pioneer 1000 5-seater with dump bed, double clutch, fully enclosed and built for Ba Haja. The 5-acer estate keeps me busy most days.
Great video. I could watch all day, that 45minflew by. What ever happen to the old dozer that you got going? Did you ever go back and get it? More videos please.
I no you make the barkbox for the 084 but have you thought about making the whole muffler with barkbox for the 084? I dont no of anyone that reproduces them as like mine there normally rotted out when you find one. I would buy it if you made it thats for sure
Gordy, Mike, WHERE did you folks find those red white n blue wedges? I’ve seen those in action before on another channel and they couldn’t remember where they came from, but those things held up PHENOMENALLY well on that channel from the axe!
I always face myself towards something I'm trying not to hit , powerlines, houses, etc..... just so I can see the corner at all times.... and not accidentally saw it off...
The low raker blues. Sucks when someone is waiting on you and you’re trying to feather your saw in the cut. Couple-three passes with the goof file and you’ll be smooth cuttin again.
Man i've now watched every video on your channel, well all except the install vids, crazy good content, its 3am, i gotta get up in 2 hours for work, don't care, worth it lol
So you have a buyer for that Fir? Where I'm at there's huge Fir that comes down or is cut all the time and no buyers. Too expensive to take out vs the Redwood or something. Just cords and cords of firewood for anyone willing to buck them.
Cool vid brotha... Got some bad news yesterday I got Lymes disease man I hope to be able to push through 💪💜 I love what I do but it's not for everyone. Any good info on keeping ticks away ?
Clothes treated with .05% Permethrin either premixed Sawyers, etc or mix your own .05% solution from a tractor supply store(my preferred method). I am cheap(frugal) premixed either aerosol or spray bottle runs about $20-20z, If I premix myself and pour into a spray bottle comes out around $15 for 5 gallons.
Nice work team, yer cuttin partners must be weather sensitive Gordy? One video he's 6' 8 built for speed face hair..............next he's 4' 8 and Yosemite Sam face hair 🤣! All jokin seriously, the cuttin videos are always a good time, safe cuttin pard
026 is a 50cc saw. Hes using a 461 that is a 72cc saw. And im sure its FAR from stock. Im sure hes done everything to the saw port polish timing advance base gasket delete and obviously wcs bark box and filter you can see the 3 point dogs too. Gords saws are amazing. 026 IS an awesome saw though for what it is!!
@@LiveFreeOrRIP The 026 was the saw that originally made me fall in love with chainsaws. I heated a house for 5 years with one. I no longer own one.. but dad does. I gave it a bgd and a muffler mod. I enjoy running it every now and then. Still love my 50cc class saws. With a little work they are extremely versatile especially here on the east coast. I still firewood, drop logs, and climb/residential and my echo 501 gets a LOT of hours.
Great video! Does anyone know if Jacob from Guilty of Treeson is ok? He hasn’t posted in almost 2 weeks and I’m concerned something may have happened to him.
@@westcoastsaw1368 Thanks Gordy, I appreciate it buddy! I’m very glad to hear he is ok! I really enjoy your videos and am glad to see you posting new videos!

Glad you like them!

Hey Gordy! Love my new saw dogs for my new Stihl MS 391. The 3 point dogs are amazing. Keep up the great work!
Glad you like them!
7:22 I used to use a Carlton File-O-Plate the best modern day equivalent is the WCS raker gauge👍you might benefit if using one.🤔🤐🤣
Every Westcoast Saw video is a great video!!!!!! You guys have an awesome vibe!💪👍
Thank you
That 461 is a ripper - nice build 👍👍

Eat one clove of garlic, per 50lbs of body weight, every day. They can smell it your blood and they won't bite, works for dogs as well.
Hi Gordy. What is youre favorite bar length to run? Thanks

Crazy how humans are sometimes. Lets move into the woods and then eventually in turns into cutting the woods.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
4lb national?

Not to be the dick in the house, but you had to change chains, right? 461 might be tuned a bit off. Love ya tons.
