Just some info on coolant from a diesel tech....it's important to use coolant designed specifically for diesels regardless of wether or not they have liners, because all diesel engines will suffer from "cavitation". Cavitation occurs on the the outsides of the cylinder walls or liners because of the intense forces generated inside the cylinder and the resulting vibrations. "Pre-charged" diesel coolants already have the additives needed to prevent cavitation, they deposit a sacrificial coating onto the metal so that the cavitation eats away at that instead of the metal. Coolants that aren't pre-charged will require SCA's to be added for the same effect. "Erosion" is another problem entirely, and that can happen to any cooling system that has too much sediment circulating around which physically wears away at the block and other parts, coolant filters catch the sediment/rust and other contaminants so they don't erode the system. Coolant filters also commonly have SCA in them, be careful not to use an SCA charged filter with "pre-charged" coolants, that can cause issues. You can get blank filters with no additive for use with pre-charged coolant. Finally, coolant that is worn out or too old will become acidic and cause "corrosion", and that will eat away at parts as well, and electrolysis can also occur.

FYI, acrylic requires special tooling to cut without it shattering/cracking. Drill bits need a 60 degree tip and saws need fine teeth (like metal cutting saws) and you have to take it slowly so you get chip extraction, and not a gooey mess. It's kinda a PITA to work with but, tons easier with the right cutting tools. I learned this the hard way, broken/shattered a lot of acrylic in my time :). You can also use a laser cutter if you know someone with one
I used to use those heat shrink solder seals. I have a auto shop in NW PA and I've fixed more than a few issues those have caused. They corrode fast especially in a wet environment
I like those wrenches you made, save money and time. I struggle to keep up with what machines you have these days, but that's becoming quite the fleet.
Nice work on that thing. I have bucket teeth like that on my yanmar and a couple of them would fall out, especially when digging in hard clay. I put a little bit of weld on the end of the cross pin and haven't had a problem since. I wish you had filmed doing the hydraulic oil flush. I've never seen it done, and maybe I'm over-thinking it, but it seems like it would be tough to really get all the old fluid out of all the cylinders and hoses.
My Komatsu has been running without oil in the swing motor for years, every now and then I throw a quart in it but it all comes out in a day. One day it'll probably blow up but that's the least of it's problems lol

Jesse came to Enfield Connecticut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!amazing I grew up in that town,,,,, but in the borough called Hazardville there’s a lot of history right there around the Civil War and gunpowder being made in Hazardville!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!for the Yanks to fight the Civil War…………………. once again you pull a rabbit out of your hat love the video,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, learned a lot the trick with plexiglass to drill a hole in it the heat up a nail little bit larger in diameter screw you’re gonna put through it. ,,, Then plunge through the plexiglass to make the hole that was a trick that was talk to me years ago…………once again for the educational video your friend east of the Hudson…………Samuel bacon
Let's start with plexiglass hate it just when you get close it cracks I've had many customers wanting to save money by using it instead of glass but after I told them you can't use the one eighth stuff and told them the price between the two always went to glass. I want to mention that she was the cutest assistant you've ever had on your videos and when she was left with all that weight 😅 maybe the strongest one a long one Jessie but a good one thanks for sharing
Great videos! That thing at the inside end of the shaft of the upper cylinder is a stop relief. If you retract the cylinder too far in that direction it will release pressure up around the piston seal 🦭
Hi Jesse, it's taken me 3 days to watch this, LoL, but as always, at my age, (84), i'd rather just sit here and learn from the master. Good to see your dear wife coming out there to check up on you on the weekend, to make sure you're alright. Awesome job Jesse. Uncle Bob. NZ👍
👍 Killer job bro. With all those machines up there, you could score some exxtra bank doing close jobs. You can always mask those plexiglass windows to where you want it toward the edges and spray a black "frame" covering all that caulking, looks good. Been there, done that.
Another successful project completed I gotta admit I made it last as long as possible so I have it to watch when I get off work to help me wind down hate to see it go but looking forward to the next one up north..be safe out there bro..
You are correct sir. The swing motor on earlier Hitachi and JD do fail quite a lot. Have done many many many of them. Considering what the machine has gone through I've seen much worse as far as metal shavings and broken / worn teeth and torrington bearing. Looks great 👍

Great job jesse.now you can tell camarata I have the same excavator like yours..looks identical to his...she is diffidently capable of serving you on the long run. Looking forward to see that old girl doing some serious job up north.till then have a great day...
Instead of slicing the bushings with a saw and damaging the bore, wipe the grease out and weld a ring or two around the inside of the bushing. When the weld cools it will shrink the bushing and they come out easily. Sometimes they shrink so much you can pull the bushing out by hand. I've done this many times and it really works well.
Finished this episode with you, been waiting on it :-)... nursing two kidney stones so glad to have something exciting to distract me :-) Again, you are an excellent machinist, welder - love watching you work - going where angels fear to tread... gives me the courage to attack some of my "carcraft chores" :-)

Gracias por otro fantástico video y todo lo que nos enseñas, saludos desde España. Fuerte abrazo.
Here's hoping Jesse doesn't lose his appetite for work. He let's us all join in and after all that's what we're here for.
Great videos! That thing at the inside end of the shaft of the upper cylinder is a stop relief. If you retract the cylinder too far in that direction it will release pressure up around the piston seal 🦭
It takes me a few days to watch these, so I cannot imagine the time it takes to film/edit/pump these out. Thank you for all the hard work!
Looks great 👍
It might be worth considering adding an overhead crane like Camarata to your beautiful shop.
That would add safety and productivity.
Your trouble shooting skills are excellent. Great work 👍
Andrew and Jesse are the best
These machines must love coming to Dr Jesse for some long overdue TLC. & god bless your wife!! 🙌
2:12:45 - Nice of Mrs M to stand in for the regular help... But I think you surprised her when the welds on the 75mm shop spanner gave way :)
He knew she could handle it. LOL
What an awesome video it was long but it was a nice treat I definitely enjoyed the hole video and looking forward for the next one thanks a lot buddy.
I adore excavators and right now I got one on hire and I am having lots of fun working with it I be posting videos shortly, don't know if you RYGOR excavations but that's the one I got right now is brand new my review will be one the videos.
I have done that too. Only brass bushings can’t be welded, but I have a hollow hyd cylinder for that anyway.
Jesse definitely roasted Andrew at 8:20 mark 😂😂😂😂
Now the Hyundai and Andrew just got 🔥
Finished this episode with you, been waiting on it :-)... nursing two kidney stones so glad to have something exciting to distract me :-) Again, you are an excellent machinist, welder - love watching you work - going where angels fear to tread... gives me the courage to attack some of my "carcraft chores" :-)
Getting that one rod nut off looked like a task. I was saying put an excavator on it, was glad to see it show up eventually.
Beautiful machine....my wife is worried I'm following in your footsteps 😊
You never stop till you get it done. Yeah!!!! Love it❤❤❤❤❤❤😂
Great video over 3 hours of great content really enjoyed it Jesse
Pushing it around was nice. Always wondered how much resistance could be in those turntables. Thanks!
Love the ingenuity, perseverance and skill! Awesome megawrench!
That rubber window channeling works a lot easier with soapy water. And there's a tool to install that final rubber strip that makes it easy.
Sullivan tire Comercial is who you want to call in Massachusetts.
That's awesome, you're a repair genius
Jesse me and you have the same cheap crappy electric pressure washer, I think it’s about time we treat ourselves to a nice heated one 😊
