Very interesting and will be curious to see how this all plays out. They definitely did a different frame completely but lots of the design from wired. I really do like the addition of the bottle mount on the top tube. The differences I see are aside from the mentioned bottle mount are as follows, mounting bosses on the front of the head tube but no idea what there for. Looks ugly left bare like that. The top tube is a single size tube and they added gussets to beef it up. Wired top tube flares out and looks cleaner like it was meant to be. More modern. I do actually prefer the look of the cantilever suspension arm on the Ecell. While i do think the mounting of the saddle rack is sweet and prefer the idea of a protected light like Ecells did, the Wireds rack seems nicer built and rugged. It is nice that the Ecell has a longer rear fender but the finger kind of piece that comes off the top of the chain stay to hold the rack is not eloquent. Those of us that don't like running fenders would want this long piece cut off. This is also less space and most likely hit the control box like the gen 1 wired freedom. Big downside for suspension travel. Moving to the connection of the swingarm at the rear wheel its a multiple component different mounting and pivot than the freedom. Looks more complicated but who knows how that will turn out. I do thing that Wired version looks less complex and looking more like a hard tail in this area. The 46t crank while yes it can be changed is absolutely necessary to be changed since the freedom has a 56t. Ghost pedaling will be a big problem. If you have the tools then its gonna be roughly $75 for parts to swap. New crank and gonna need a new chain. There goes that coupon code or half the cost of our $200 shipping. Interesting that one calls out a Hentach motor and the other says Hengtei. Both seem to be the same company. I wish that Ecells would looked to improve on the fact these bikes shoulda came with a 200mm front brake and a more secure front light. Time will tell and i can't wait for more reviews.
Called eCell and it's a 56T chainring I have a feeling the frame is a demo placeholder it has a cassette not a freewheel, and only offered as a 17 the pictured frame is not a 17
@@e-cells2222 thats awesome. No fault there. Too many people in our wired group say that your using the exact same frame as the wired freedom so my comment was to clearly state that the frames are in fact different. Your site does say that the crank is 46 but was mentioned it was a 56. 56t would be better from the experience with the freedom. Changing to a sturdier front light mount would be awesome and changing the front brake rotor to 200mm would be a great upgrade too. Otherwise very sweet and competitive bike. My buddy is looking for a more mountainbike style ebike to pair with his super73. Excited also to see how the smaller frame is. The large frame of the Wired turns away shorter riders. I love mine but its also the older style first gen freedom. Cant wait to see more from your 5 star
Wired is American company with office here and great customer service. All you save with this bike is shipping cost. I'll happily pay the shipping to speak to Americans and have great customer service.
This company is in Nevada and the owner is a Veteran did the guys at wired serve our country this company has been around 17 years how long has wired been around? I'm sure wired is a great company but make honest comparisons
Ecells has a full staff working in the office, and they are also based in Nevada. Veteran owned. They've been around for a while. I've had good customer service in the past with wired, and I don't have experience with ecells customer service but but the looks of it I think it would be great.
Some of their bikes do have nice components, like Magura MT5e quad piston brakes with 203mm rotors. They also have higher end derailers than what most eBikes ship with. Their 5k price models are also dual battery with a combiner (total 45 Ah of battery capacity, with Panasonic cells). My dual 1kw motor bike I have (Zeegr S1) comes with Dyisland dual piston brakes with 160mm rotors.
@@addertooth1it looks like they've upgraded them a bit, their old bikes had the same frame and i think fork too as the Freedom although I don't think they were branded RST forks. The new bikes look more like an AWD Ranger frame(same integrated battery) and similar style fork, 9 speed Shimano Deore is nice to, not 4,600 nice but nice.
At this moment while I click on this video, I'm literally waiting for UPS to deliver my new Wired Freedom... 😆 I could feel mad that this clone could make the price of the Freedom drop before I would take advantage of the discount, but I believe the higher quality original is worth the price. Also, I just checked their website and no specs of top speed or range are listed yet so maybe this E-Cell bike is not even on Wired's radar yet.
Hey call e-cells up before you buy and make believe you did and have some problem. IDK make some issue up that sounds believable. I ordered the E sells. However, my biggest concern is the rear rack. I like to use bags. The larger rack on the wired bike with the protruding rear light will be visible even with bags on from the side. I feel the East sells rear light will not be visible. I will be modifying this because I think it's so important. I do like that these cells bike has a mount for a front rack and currently comes with a free front rack also. My only other large consideration is what did the wired company do to modify the motor to make it more powerful and maybe more reliable? If I was truly convinced that it was more reliable I might pay more for the wired. I do live where I could go pick up the bike from wired but it's a pain
I hear this has just a tad bit higher torque than the Wired. With the option of frame size, no shipping charge, discount code...this definitely will take away a big part of Wired customers. I'm sure too that they will probably be the first to have a dual motor for the 60v 20ah. I can't wait to see the actual ride comparisons!
Yes since this video was released the have updated a lot on their website. Seems like it will be a great bike. Looking forward to watching the reviews on it. They do definitely have a lot of experience making dual motor ebikes.
I’ve been researching it. The more important differences are the controller is solid mounted, and is filled with a heat conducting resin that makes it waterproof and allows it to run cooler.. the frame is also a little bit heavier, even though it looks virtually the same. And the company offers some excellent upgrades.
Yup! I've since made an updated video on this ebike and will be reviewing it late this month/early next month. th-cam.com/video/v7Ua_KI5Ou8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oSFTdsdYXIsfqz4d

Maybe. Ecells has been around for around half a decade. I haven't had to interact with their customer service, but they do have a full staff to answer your phone calls.
I am 5'6" with a 29 inch inseam. The wired bike frame is too big for a person my size & they don't offer an alternative frame size. They only offer a step thru that doesn't have the same suspension. This ecells bike offers a smaller frame size to accommodate shorter riders. With the same specs. as the wired bike & free shipping this is a no brainer. This is a much better deal. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Would never have known about this without your review
77lbs with battery, I wonder where they shaved off the 11lbs. Wired claims 88lbs with battery. Also what brand cells are in the battery? Wired uses Samsung.

Ecells website says there is no tax, but the tax* came with an asterisk and could not find what they were referring to. So, if there is no tax it could be another savings of $150 or so if you live ... let's say California. $100 off, free shipping, free front rack, and no tax, seems pretty sweet.

I have been looking at the wired freedom for a while now . I like that it looks like a bicycle not a moped style . So basically this new bike is from a company that’s been around a while, so do you think it’s a safe to buy from a company like this compared to Wired ? Also, I wonder if we waited wired would come up with a better answer to compete with this like you mentioned.
"The frames on these bikes are the same Ecells Super Monarch frames we’ve used over the past five years.... They’re proven and reliable, and they’re Ecells and no others."
If ECells copied Wired's Freedom, why does the 5 Star frame look exactly like most of their other older frames do? Those older bikes they made with that frame are years older than the Freedom. Think about that.
I certainly would not say this is the same bike as Wired sells. One quick look tells you its not the same bike (at least not the one shown) when clearly the frame being shown is very different (perhaps its the smaller frame and the larger one is in fact the same) the frame looks to be of a lot cheaper construction with added bracing on the top tube, where Wired uses a custom made tube, also the welds appear sloppy but this could just be a one off thing. In addition it has very different rims which may be a good thing or may be a bad thing. Lastly the motor is claimed to be 1200w nominal which if not a misprint would indicate they are using the previous model motor not the 2024 spec motor. I agree completely with your opinion on the pricing of some of their models.....almost 6 grand for a dual motor run of the mill bike is absurd.
china makes up for 28.4% of global manufacturing for everything. It seems they do also have the greatest number of electric bike part manufacturing over there as well.
Its cheap to go 30mph. Its not cheap to go 45mph. And relatively speaking, it never will be. If you want to go twice as fast, it will cost 4 times as much.
Although I like competition, wired customer service is just to good, that’s worth alone the shipping difference, The bike from Ecells is not even established, the website is like buying from china very vague, to pay that much money now from ecells reminds me if your buying from a private party than a company, who knows if they will exist for the life of the bike. Just seems like your getting a knockoff, usually a well established company as you say has been around for awhile would have many reviews on all there bikes, you can hardly fined any consumer or TH-cam reviews on Ecells, it’s just not worth the small savings, I would definitely choose customer service and establish more assuring company like Wired over Ecells, it’s a no brainer for me.
With all due respect ?? You need to do a little research before you broadcast Miss Information , Totally diffrent and stronger frame! Used with there AWD models, Different and stronger rear swing arm, "Typo " It will have 56 tooth chain flywheel, Wired is a 18.5 in frame and Ecells will offer 17in and 19in frames, Blue with matt black rims, Gloss Black and matt black rims , All Matt black.Making a statement that there's !00% markup is so irresponsible when you didn't even take the time and actually look at what components are used on the other AWD Models! I have an Ecells AWD and the build quality far exceeds the average mass production bikes out there. You have a responsibility no matter the brand to share hard trueful facts and not be biased in my opinion. Thanks
Easy Fido! While I agree with alot of what you say and I called to get the specs of this bike FWIW its a 17 inch frame they do not offer a 19 all other components are the same except the wheels have cut out which the vloger? Missed, it will not be able until April, the author missed the warranty details. He is right about the mark up most likely as they are not making anything about revolutionary outside of one controller for the AWD bikes. They often drop retail price by 1k so 50% mark up makes sense....

Just be careful it might blow up as it’s not a e cell 5 Starr.😂😂😂
Called eCell and it's a 56T chainring I have a feeling the frame is a demo placeholder it has a cassette not a freewheel, and only offered as a 17 the pictured frame is not a 17
The frame pictured is a 17" frame. We've been using our exclusive Super Monarch frame since 1999.
That is not an identical apples to apples comparison bike to the wired freedom. I’ll keep mine and you can buy that thing.

@@Thatdawgy So you think ECells has a better product, eh?
Wow thanks for the info !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, they have a Christian logo on their site John 316 that’s important to me.
Wow Nice! Another 60v option! More the better!
yup!
I hope the RadRover company wakes up and realizes that the people have spoken and we want faster bikes.
They changed their controller placement and shock so back tire doesn't hit controller
Their bikes were never high end, just marked up 100% +, in a time when they were the only dual motor 26in bikes on the market.
True. I wonder if they will bring their prices down since there are more and more dual motor bikes out these days
Great video, I am thinking of canceling my order with wired, and saving $300.00. I wonder if the quality is the same what a gamble?
Did you pay for the Insurance?
That's up to you my friend.
Lots of colors now…
At this moment while I click on this video, I'm literally waiting for UPS to deliver my new Wired Freedom...

P.S. the e cells has more power. 146 NM of torque to 138 on the wired I believe.
Yup! They updated that info after I made this video
Thank u for ur video by the way. Very informative.
@krazykrissince1986 you're very welcome my friend!

Does this boil down to customer service? WIRED has some amazing customer service and is an established company. I'm about to buy one. I'm not about to wait a year or so to establish e-cells is equally as awesome.
I’m 5’6” as well. I never considered the Wired being too tall for me. I still might get it though.
77lbs with battery, I wonder where they shaved off the 11lbs. Wired claims 88lbs with battery.
Also what brand cells are in the battery? Wired uses Samsung.
I called and they said Samsung. They also said they are in the process of updating the website.
Rims are cut outs
That lighter weight is a big plus for me.

I fear for the frames on these cheaper models. Can't jump to conclusions I haven't owned one.
True, no conclusions were made. Just awareness of competition.
Ecells website says there is no tax, but the tax* came with an asterisk and could not find what they were referring to. So, if there is no tax it could be another savings of $150 or so if you live ... let's say California. $100 off, free shipping, free front rack, and no tax, seems pretty sweet.
Great vid,
This is fantastic e-bike news as it really opens up market competition between manufacturers to give us poorer people the ability to actually buy a nice spec e-bike for $2K or less...
Can't wait to see if you can manage to get them to send one your way to review - would be interesting to see how it fares against the wired freedom's similar model.

Those welds look sloppy. You know, the most important part of a bike.
They told me this is the frame they used for all of their heavier dual motor builds and have been using this frame for years.
Wired is charging $250 for shipping, pretty ridiculous.
They might have smaller margins and can't afford not to.
Ok couple points. Wired is a small company started in a garage, the owner is quite a guy. They built that brand and forced the price point down on sooo many bikes…. It seems disloyal to offer a discount code to help undercut wired. This new company can kiss my ass. Compete with your own concept bike. Knock offs shouldn’t be bought on principle. We need to get behind the little guys in this industry right now, they keep prices down and force innovation.

Bearings
If ECells copied Wired's Freedom, why does the 5 Star frame look exactly like most of their other older frames do? Those older bikes they made with that frame are years older than the Freedom. Think about that.
My friend this is an old old old video way before I ever started working with ecells
NOT EXACTLY THE SAME!!
This is an early video. I've made newer ones
Looks like the frame they use on this bike is the same frame they've been using for years on their heavier dual motor ebikes.
Diffrent motor and controller
So said ecells
controller is potted, but the same. Motor is almost the same. I have since done new update videos on this bike.

for sure both freedom and this bike same made in china.
china makes up for 28.4% of global manufacturing for everything. It seems they do also have the greatest number of electric bike part manufacturing over there as well.
But it's not it's a China replica
I've since done two update videos on this one.
wired is 35 ah at lower price
Its cheap to go 30mph.
Its not cheap to go 45mph.
And relatively speaking, it never will be.
If you want to go twice as fast, it will cost 4 times as much.
Yup! might cost even more to make sure you can reliably stop at 45mph!
Back in the day I too did have great customer service from Wired. Time will tell if this is a viable option or not.
Thanks
Yeah maybe, they do indeed use some really higher end parts on some of their bikes.
