My freedom model also came in in August and I've put a few hundred miles on it thus far and absolutely love it. It's not worth taking a loss on my current one and upgrading to the newer one for the additional benefits. My bike is pretty much dialed in: internal settings, horn/alarm, back up camera, cell phone mount, no shipping damage, running great. Only additional thing I plan on doing this next spring is adding an additional battery for more range. At the moment, I don't own a Wired Freedom, but have ordered the 2024, to be delivered in November sometime. Here's my take on your question. It's pretty much like buying anything else, as soon as you buy it (take a cell phone for example) there is a new model that comes out. If I owned the model you have, I'd continue to “make it my own” and see if there is a new or different model in a year. It kind of like buying a car, most people don't get a new/different car every year. The 2024 Freedom will be the 4th Ebike for me, started with a cheap model to see if I'd like Ebike. Next I bought a fat tire (not sure if the Freedom was out at that time) and sold the cheap Ebike. The current Ebike I have is a Specialized (Ya, definitely more expensive than the Freedom), which I bought because a couple of times each week I group ride with non-Ebikers who roll with Road Bikes. Main reason was because of all the tire noise, which the fellow bikers didn't like. I sold the Fat tire bike, which I regretted, so decided to get another fat tire bike. After a lot of research, I have narrowed it down to 3-4 bikes, one being the Freedom. A couple were 30+ Ah foldable, which I instantly decided against when the 2024 Freedom was announced. I was leaning toward the Freedom anyway, as its role was going to be my “fun bike” or “messing around” bike when I wasn't riding with the road bikers. Like you @2Recharge, I live in the upper Midwest, so the cold is coming soon. I'm an older guy myself, turning 70 about the time the FREEDOM so arrive (ya happy birthday present to self). Well that's my thought, new models are always coming out, so do you need the “latest and greatest”? Oh, let me add this, I hope it doesn't happen, but who's to say there won't be issues with the new model? You have something that is working for you now. Sorry for the short story comment.
After owning the 2024 since November (it's April now) I'm kind of on the fence. I'm leaning toward selling the Freedom to get another bike with a torque sensor. I like to pedal, and I just don't enjoy a cadence sensor. I like the more natural feeling of a torque sensor and also notice that it is more of a workout. Cadence sensors don't “do it” for me, and I've owned 3 cadence sensors now and 2 torque sensors. I've enjoyed the natural bike riding feeling of the torque sensor so much more. The Freedom has a 60v 20 Ah battery and my Como has a 36v 19.2 Ah battery which I get more range from the Como's torque sensor. I used to own an Aventon Adventure 2 which is I recall had a 48v 15 Ah battery and a torque sensor (it was around 15, maybe a bit more or less but wasn't a 20 Ah for sure) and I got more distance from it vs. the Freedom as well. I really do like the Freedoms rear suspension the best of all the bikes I've owned and is the primary reason I bought it. We'll see, as I tend to study for some time before I buy (make a move).
I would keep the bike you painfully waited for and just buy an air shock from Wired and do a simple install. The rest of the 2024 upgrades are negligible for performance so why worry about them.

I wrecked my bik, busted my shoulder socket into three pieces. My Freedom took a hit too so,... I'll probably upgrade to the newer model. Sell the motor, battery and computer to another existing owner so they can upgrade their bike. (assuming I can get a good price) I don't know for sure. Definitely gonna get a new bike though,... especially now. I love the ride. (and I've got Wired to thank for that). ... Thoughts?
I own the Freedom, June release model. I have my bike set up and the way I like it and have no intention of selling it. Wired will continue to improve these bikes and eventually I’ll get a second one and let others ride my original bike. Sorry to hear about your about mother. Thanks for the video, ride safe!
I have a end of august model. Rear suspension hitting was fixed with longer swing arm. Lots of clearance. I have the heavier looking rear rack. Idk the new model one is sweet but basically improving rear suspension but I dont have any issues with mine. Motor says better but appears to be not really better maybe slighly but basically the same . Im keeping mine. Its not worth it. I love it. Imagine you never seen the new one. Are you happy with yours? I am. (Does suck on not getting the new rear suspension but I dont have any issues with mine so.)
Hey Tim, thanks for the link to your channel. I was going to sell my current model (arrived in Sept. 2023) and upgrade to the new model. After some discussion in the group, I have decided to keep my bike and look at upgrading in a couple of years, when they will most likely have a new iteration of the bike with more upgrades. So for now, everything is going great with this model, I was just enticed by the new suspension system and the way it will perform on these with potholes!
My pleasure; thanks for checking it out! I think we can't go wrong with either keeping them or selling/upgrading them... these are great bikes. Enjoy, be safe, and maybe we can ride sometime!

I just happened to decide to order when the new model was announced. Waiting on mine. First ebike. Personally though if i were you since its winter coming up anyways id wait and see if they release another new model and upgrade then and get some use out of this one.
I second @harrypotterwizz14 seeing as how I'm in the same boat haha. I've been waiting almost a month now, mine is due in 1 more month! I can't wait, but for you I'd say wait. Wired seems to take customer input and implement it well. But that 2 month wait ugh
@@sp33dybiscuit Yeah I think you guys are wise in saying to wait a bit before upgrading. Regarding the wait time after putting your order in... yes, it's very tough. I had to wait over three months for mine! But it's worth it.
Sorry to hear about you mother, I certainly can identify with your situation. My mother died of dimentia back in 2018. I just purchased the all new Wired Freedom, I should expect to receive it by November of this year. When Wired added the new back suspension however they also increased the minimum height of the seat by around 3 inches. I was kind of hoping they would have gone the other way with the height and decreased the minimum height. I wanted a 26 by 4 inch bike with a low profile seat and now I am getting a higher profile seat. I thought about canceling my order but oh well the Wired in still the best buy for your money. I just wonder if I could somehow modify the seat post in order to bring down the height of the seat. I just wonder if there is enough meat on the bone to somehow cut down the post by around 3 inches or so. P.S., Don't stop praying for your mother hang in there, use your faith and just do not give up.
Hey thanks David I really appreciate that! My wife and I will definitely keep holding her up in prayer! I'm glad you brought up the seat height issue, I didn't even think to discuss that; it is important to a lot of people. I'll have plenty of room but I know others will wrestle with the seat height issue because it is a big bike. The dropper post can be a solution for many if the cost can be overcome... but that actually may add more height too. Probably should have talked about that more. Hope you find a good solution because it's a great bike!
I’m keeping my August model. I can change out the chain ring if I really want to. The suspension is great to me. I have the usb port on the back of the screen and I also have the newer battery. I don’t really care about the rest of the upgrades. It’s just not worth the extra cost to get the new model and sell this one at a loss.
Most of the depreciation hits within the first few months after purchase, so yeah, he would experience a hit. May as well enjoy it for at least another year or maybe two and perhaps Wired will put out yet another set of upgrades by then. I look at it as “leapfrogging” generations of upgrades. It’s costly to keep getting the latest model if they release them every year or three.
I almost purchased a Wired Freedom but managed to pick-up a used Ariel Rider Grizzly w 385 miles on it. I really just like the moped styling better w the dual suspension dual motor dual battery. But it was the research of Wired bikes that raised the bar for more power & led me to the Grizzly. I've already put on almost 1000 miles in the past 2 months. No regrets & the main thing is to get yourself out there on something & experience your surroundings
Great topic, I got the latest Wired Cruiser (August) model and originally wanted the Freedom model but they were out till October then. Now I’m kicking myself as I would have received this new 2024 Freedom had I waited. I have had a ton of fun riding the Cruiser though, really love the bike. Really want full suspension though… Ugh I can’t decide, step through has become very very handy, I would definitely miss that feature and my Suntour suspension post eats up like 90% of my rooted bike paths and trails. I am so undecided… I can tell you the motor upgrade is not a concern, this Cruiser moves, rarely even get to use top speeds now.
As of Tuesday October 3rd at 12:45 am EST there are only 2 colors still available for pre-order for the FREEDOM. blue(43) and green(12). So if you are still on the fence i would figure it out soon. Based on the “$1999 (limited time)” that tells me that the next batch is probably gonna get a price increase.
I am doing my research on ebikes.. The only ones that I tested were belt drive mid hubs.. My knees were getting sore.. I think what I am looking for is torque senser with a throttle.. I want to be able to get exercise but when my knees start getting sore to be able to take it easy.. I live in Denver and it is pretty flat but I would like to have something with enough power to be able to get up the mountains..
Sorry to hear about your Mom bro. Sounds like you are a doing the right thing by interacting with her on any level. Spend as much time possible with her as you can, I’m sure it helps her more than you know. Happy you have e-bikes to keep yourself busy at this tough time…a great distraction. God Bless
@mauricecooper9016 26" is better for short riders, think under 5'2 or 5'4 tall, 27 rims seem to be the standard, and 29" is good for 6'2 tall and gives more speed but dosen't corner as nice as 27"
@mauricecooper9016 google Proper bicycle sizing and hub vs. mid drive for ebikes. Also, search for why people like fat tires. There are so many arguments to be made between it all. Good luck, and welcome to cycling...
I just ordered a Wired Freedom it will be my first Ebike. What app do you use on your phone if you don't mind me asking? Great vid! Lookin forward to see more 👍
After watching lots of Ebike reviews it was a petty easy decision to pull the trigger on the Wired Freedom. My first Ebike. If your looking for a 26 in fat tire bike that is powerful, with a Full suspension, and an upright riding position, and a big 60v battery, and has high speed capabilities, All for around $2000! The PICKINS ARE SLIM ! Which makes the Wired Freedom a no brainer! Ordered mine Aug 27th and was TOTALLY STOKED to find out last week that I will be getting the New and improved 2024 version ! I think the wait is going kill me. I never would have imagined that I would be this excited to get a Bike at 65 ! My delivery date is scheduled for early November...Lord help me.
My delivery will be early November, I am glad I waited a bit to get the upgrades. However that being said, I don't really think the "improvements" will be that significant. I would be happy with the 2023 model. I did not know that I was getting a 2024 so I was shooting for a 2023 and would have been overjoyed with that. I think I would keep the 2023.
I would think that with the waiting list for this bike, if your bike is in good shape, with no damage, that you could sell it with very little, if any loss.
I thought about getting the wired bike but I didn’t want to wait until mid November. I also live in the Twin Cities as well. I’ve thought about driving to Chicago to pick it up.
I have a June model with about 1300 miles and I’m definitely keeping it. With the sun tour seat post, the suspension is great over most terrain. I upgraded the front rotor to a 203 and it makes a noticeable difference. The new bike has significantly better suspension design and components and is more capable. I will probably buy one this Spring and keep the other for friends and family to ride. I would expect continued improvements batch to batch and think the bike will become even more compelling. I don’t see Wired raising the price anytime soon. People that don’t even own the bike are getting thousands of views from just talking about it. Imagine the next couple of months as all these new bikes are delivered. It will be fun to watch!
Lucky you guys the wicked company doesn't ship to europe . Do you guys have any idea where can I buy an wired freedom from a third party that ships in europe ?! Their wired customer service is also very unfriendly
Some of these "improvements" really are just changes. Are metal fenders better? Maybe so, maybe not. They would make more noise if they get loose or if riding on gravel and they are shorter on the rear of the front fender which is where a rider gets water spray from puddles. Plastic wont rust. The rear suspension is the biggest improvement that I like, but it makes the lowest seat height about 2 inches higher than my Aug. version and right now I can stop at a light and put my feet almost flat on the street which I couldn't do if it were higher. I am almost 70 years old, 250 lb and 30 inch inseam and would have a harder time getting on and off if it were higher. The rear rack on mine is just as long as the 24 model but is anchored to the top of the rear trailing arms instead of that flimsy looking center rod on each side. I think it is a more sturdy design. The 56 tooth ring is a slight improvement over the 52 but that could easily be changed if wanted. The battery doesn't seem to be much better, just different I suppose the front suspension is better, but by how much? I have heard that the tires that came with the 23 model are better and last longer than the new ones. I don't know for sure either way though. I won't fret about having the old model at all and I was able to get the color I wanted which is the orange. Got lots of compliments on it for appearance.
Ordered one in September but after waiting an entire two months and still being told they don't know when they will come in, I canceled my order. Eahora offers a 60ah bike for $500 less, no shipping fee and delivery within a week. I essentially got 3x the range and saved $700.
Dang !! Just saw this and was wondering what people would think. Mine is due to arrive mid to late july 2024. And they keep upgrading each batch it seems. Crazy. Mine will probably be outdated by the time i get it.
Just got both of our bikes in Aug and was a little bummed the new and improved version came out so soon. That said, this bike is awesome just as it is. I've got several hundred miles on it, both street and mountain biking. It was an absolute beast in the hills and I had to stop and pick the bugs out of my teeth from smiling so much;-) I will upgrade the forks someday, otherwise I'm very happy with my current model.
@@2Recharge_ What brand is the lower mirror? Can you tell us where you purchased the lower mirror? Is there any specific mounting brackets needed or does it come with the mirror? Thanks
I'm here because I am looking at Ebikes. I used to ride a lot when younger but now it is just too much to pedal up hills. I dont need speed or range just want a regular looking bike with pedal assist.
I just ordered mine and I'm already regretting it but the one that I would've got wasn't available in the color that I wanted. Thinking about selling it and getting an AWD eCell's. Going to try to get what I paid. I disagree about the shipping. They need to find someone else and stopping using UPS or whoever's damaging their bikes in delivery.
I haven't August but I called them was gonna buy the new one already. They gave me a $200 loyalty discount. If I bought one of the last 23 so I purchased a second 23 model.
I have the first generation Freedom when it first became Wired. Picked it up June 2023. Love it and looked at the 2024. To me it's not a game-changer to want to get the latest. I'm sure there is another version in the works and waiting to see if it's worth upgrading...kinda like iPhones...not always looking to get the lastest one. Let's see what 2025 brings for Wired ebikes. thanks for the video!
I’ve been looking for an e-bike to hunt with for 2 years, I haven’t been able to pull the trigger cause every couple months they get more powerful 42v 52v now 60v it’s hard to keep up with. I’m glad I waiting cause that 2024 model looks to be perfect.
I got lucky. I ordered my bike on 9/24 not knowing about the 2024 model and I'm getting it. I had been trying to get the bike since February but bills and my children's needs kept getting in the way, but I know how that that happened for a reason.
This isn't just a Wired dilemma, it applies to anything. I own Five Star, but the previous/older version. If you sit on the fence waiting for the latest and greatest, then you won't own one. Even if you buy Nov version, there will likely be a newer version a few months later. My suggestion is if you are happy with the one you have, don't upgrade. Just enjoy what you have.
I live in the North Metro. If you decide to order a bike and would like to pick it up and carpool to Wood Dale let me know I’m close to Purchasing a Freedom.
Yes, it's a really good bike for paved and smoother trails like gravel trails and roads etc. It wouldn't be the best bike for rutted trails, jumping, or other serious mountain-bike-type riding.
@@Rue2love Very sandy conditions will be difficult for any bike, but the Freedom may do better than most due to its fat tires, full suspension, and high torque. An e-mountain bike would be lighter and might be better on the ruts, but you'll need wider tires for the sand. The combination of riding conditions you mention don't make for an easy choice, unfortunately!
Sorry to hear about Your Mom. I went through that 3 years ago. You do the best You can. A it of Prayer and you leave it in God’s Hands. May I suggest E-Cell’s 5 Star??? Similar Bike. Better Features. Offers add on features. No Shipping, Insurance, or Tax Charges. Longer Warrantees. I Suggest Comparing the two bikes. You may be Happier with a 5 Star by E-Cells. E-Cell has been around longer than Wired. They Produce and Deliver their Product differently than Wired!!!
Thank you so much for your empathy, I really appreciate it! And yes, the Ecells 5 Star looks like a really good bike. I may try one at some point; thinking about it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
You do realize that every bike that peaks over 750watts is technically illegal to ride on the street. That’s just about every fat tire bike sold in this country. If you want to be legal to the letter of the law, you could get a rad rover as it is limited to 749watts but then it has a throttle and is therefore illegal as a Class 3. Good luck with your crusade, seems to be making a big difference!
@jfly2249 that's not true. There is an electrical method for determining the legal regular wattage rating of an electric motor. Peak watts is not normal operating watts. If the law wanted a peak watts maximum it would have said so.
@@johnrob3215read the relevant statues and regulations, it’s true and nobody seems to follow it or cares. Show me anywhere in the regulations where they mention nominal vs peak watts. Would it be ok for a bike to peak at 5kw for three minutes then drop to 750? No throttles allowed on any class 3 bike either. Wired bikes can be programmed to be 100% legal and are shipped as class 2. Don’t forget that 99% of this country is unpaved and the Freedom is 100% legal to ride unlocked on private land, like dozens of similar bikes.
Does your bike have the wobble? It can be pretty bad. I wouldn't advise riding with no hands on the bars. You had to pay return shipping to get that back, didn't you? I heard that Wired makes customers pay shipping for returning items. That's from their customer's mouths. I don't think rolling a box end over end is human nature. It's a lazy way out. One dolly would solve that problem. I think it's a problem with their upbringing. They don't have good morals, if they do such stupid things. They don't care and should be fired for that. Their jobs are to deliver what you paid for in good shape. They dont get paid to break things even if they are being returned.

May as well enjoy it for at least another year or maybe two and perhaps Wired will put out yet another set of upgrades by then. I look at it as “leapfrogging” generations of upgrades. It’s costly to keep getting the latest model if they release them every year or three.
I will buy it from you if it's fine and you can ship to europe cause they don't ship and can't find no where here
I almost purchased a Wired Freedom but managed to pick-up a used Ariel Rider Grizzly w 385 miles on it.
I use mine year round and I’m in Bobcaygeon Canada! Twice a month 17 km one way to town for groceries
Cruiser is step through
As of Tuesday October 3rd at 12:45 am EST there are only 2 colors still available for pre-order for the FREEDOM. blue(43) and green(12).
God Bless
I like the bike, but it only comes in the 26" flavor and thats a deal breaker.
What wheel size would prefer and why? I am new to the game so im just genuinely curious.
Keep on riding
I just ordered a Wired Freedom it will be my first Ebike. What app do you use on your phone if you don't mind me asking?
Great vid! Lookin forward to see more 👍
It's a free app simply called 'Speedometer'. Thanks! glad you liked the video
2000?hell naw get a moped for that price😂
LOL I ordered mine on sept25th .Delivery is early November also. I can't wait either. Just hope we don't get any snow till Dec.or after.
@@illkid86different laws you have to abide by with a moped that you would be able to get by with on a e bike
@@educationjack5730 true that
I would think that with the waiting list for this bike, if your bike is in good shape, with no damage, that you could sell it with very little, if any loss.
I thought about getting the wired bike but I didn’t want to wait until mid November. I also live in the Twin Cities as well. I’ve thought about driving to Chicago to pick it up.
I have never had an ebike and my Freedom is due here in PA in November. Can't wait!
Must say that bike sure is noisy? I have 3 e-bikes and none are that loud. Is it the tires or the hub motor?
The battery doesn't
seem to be much better, just different
I suppose the front suspension is better, but by how much?
I have heard that the tires that came with the 23 model are better and last longer than the new ones. I don't know for sure either way though.
I won't fret about having the old model at all and I was able to get the color I wanted which is the orange.
Got lots of compliments on it for appearance.
Good for you taking care of your mom 👍 .
Just put an 11 - 28 rear free wheel on it , makes a big difference and it's easy to do .
Getting rear suspension ride mostly as commuter hard pan dirt, asphalt ,
Nice video. Im about to buy the 2024 version in black, my first ebike!!!
Congrats; I'm sure you will love it!
Happy run g100 is faster

That thing is kinda loud...
What’s up with the super long delivery? I’m wanting to buy one but it says mid January?? Are they that backed up?
I believe it's because they need the money upfront from buyers so wired has the cash to place their order from the factory.
Sorry I did not finish the video, you riminded me the sun is setting and I should get in a ride. LOL will watch later.
I wish Wired would get their crap together with having bikes in stock...
What brand and model mirror do you have?. TY
Great video..thought provoking!
I haven't August but I called them was gonna buy the new one already. They gave me a $200 loyalty discount. If I bought one of the last 23 so I purchased a second 23 model.
I just want to say that I love your bike path! Lucky You.
I'm looking to get a freedom soon I need to learn what they're gonna bring to the table with the new version. Great video
I got the new 2024 and absolutely love it!
Any ways to shed weight off the 88lb? like road tires on thinner wheels ?
great vid. ty, Im lookin at the Wired ebike. would you ship to ma.?
If you decide to order a bike and would like to pick it up and carpool to Wood Dale let me know I’m close to
Purchasing a Freedom.
My mom was diagnosed with dementia last year. Luckily she lives with my brother as of right now. I was going to buy a wired last year but I didn’t.
It's still an awesome bike ...
I'm getting one in January...
But like smartphones, I'll probably upgrade every 2 to 3 years.
So is tge wired freedom a good choice? For a person who wants to ride Trails ??
Yes, it's a really good bike for paved and smoother trails like gravel trails and roads etc. It wouldn't be the best bike for rutted trails, jumping, or other serious mountain-bike-type riding.
@@2Recharge_ i need a bike that can handel extream trails very sandy and rutted any suggestions??
@@Rue2love Very sandy conditions will be difficult for any bike, but the Freedom may do better than most due to its fat tires, full suspension, and high torque. An e-mountain bike would be lighter and might be better on the ruts, but you'll need wider tires for the sand. The combination of riding conditions you mention don't make for an easy choice, unfortunately!
Im gonna ride it. Is this a rhetorical question?
What state and what path are you on?
No. What sre ylu guys gonna do when i oull up in my g100

Keeping my August cruiser....
Wired freedom rocks better than other ebike 2 class ride 👍 tumbs up
Agree!
Does your bike do 18+mph in PAS 1? Does it throttle up to 26+?
Not worth the time and resources for me to sell/wait/modify another bike, I'll stick with my 2023!
I'm sorry to hear about your mom.
The bike would miss you if let her go...not her fault she's gen1.
I was waiting for the new Solid State batteries. But, since China is dumping I guess Solid State batteries are going to have to wait.
It's worth it...
There’s no significant difference between the version
