I do just want to warn everyone, when we finally got around to doing the wrap-up/review it was around 3am. So we may seem slightly out of it lol. If you do want a better review of the game check out my actual full review video. Hope you enjoy!
Haha right wouldn't that be so much better lol. Maybe they'll come out with that after Marvel Dice Throne lol. Thanks dude, yea she can really bring some good jokes lol. Always fun playing with her :)
great video as always. I wish I could get my other half to the table but my games are to complex for her, according to her. lol. this one might be one that I can get her to try. love the trash talk from your other half. guess you'll need to that versus gameplay now. lol
Thanks man. Lol yea I know what you mean, not everything's for everyone. But yea Dice Throne and Adventures I feel hit that sweet spot of being easy to pick up, even for people who dont play games much, but can also offer a bit more strategy if you want to take it there. It's just good fun rolling those dice a few times to see what you can do, and then being able to play cards to do even more. I would definitely try to get her to play Dice Throne. Lol yea I can definitely see that video coming down the road. I think next we're going to try Cthulhu Death May Die, seems like a fun one :)
Thank you very much I appreciate that, and I'll let me wife know as well! And absolutely, Adventures can be player anywhere from 1-4 players. If you like dice throne, adventures is a fantastic addition and I really think you'll like it as well. Being able to team up with people and use the same characters from dice throne is a really fun experience!
Love Dice Throne. I prefer the core pvp over the adventures. If I’m playing two player than I want the pvp. It’s quicker and can play 2 games over 1 crawl. Adventures is great for solo but only ok for 2 player. The other thing is I really like playing different characters and when playing adventures then I’m stuck with the same one for at least 8 scenarios.
After playing it a bunch, I agree with some of your points. I love Adventures, for everything I've said in basically 2 reviews at this point, and they are still true in my book. But I think regular dice throne can create a few more of those epic moments. The back and forth, as well as quick gameplay so you can play multiple battles using different characters is so fun. There does feel like more engagement because you're in every turn instead of every other turn. And it's just so fast to get out and get going. But I think they did an excellent job of turning that system into a co op campaign, and I have a blast playing both. Idea about the same character across the campaign. The only thing that changes is essentially adding cards to your deck right? So maybe keep those upgraded cards off to the side after each scenario. And if you want to change characters, just shuffle those into the new characters deck? Would take longer to do, but would be cool to mix it up with playing someone else. Anyway, great points you brought up 👍
Also wanted to add that at 2:50:26 Lauren mentions not knowing who the shopkeeper woman is... but if you notice the back of the very card she's holding has an entire backstory of that shopkeeper on it. Again, it's not like an entire book of backstory -- but it's not quite right to say we have "no idea" who she is. That said... I agree with her that more story would be cool.. more narrative choices.. that would be cool. I can't disagree.. although I do wonder if it might slow the game down more, rather than speed it up. So I'm sure they had to weigh the pros and cons there. Another thing that slows down the game is having to roll for the minions instead of having them have pre-loaded attacks (say a deck of cards where you flip a card for defense, then flip a card for offense, sort of like Gloomhaven, but I really believe that watching the dice roll.. getting to play cards to change them... all of these things create a more personal relationship IN combat than you get from a more simple, speedy mechanism.) In any case, I really enjoyed the discussion you two had, and appreciate the Dice Throne content you've shared.
Haha yea I definitely forgot about the back of that card, you're right. I think her main thing was just that she liked it a lot, and wish she could have known more about this world, if you will. I wish we would have just turned that card around and Lauren would have seen lol. I do appreciate the reminder, I might show her that later today, she'll think it's cool. Totally agree with you about having the dice roll be the way to go in this game. This is a Dice game, it's called Dice Throne for a reason haha. We have other games for those card mechanisms, and the dice system works so well here. I love dice anyway so if you just say dice is the way to go, I'll agree lol. Thanks for that Joelface, I do appreciate it and the feedback and information you provided. I'll try to get more Dice Throne on the channel at some point. Did you hear about the Marvel Dice Throne announcement?
@@BrewsandBoardgames I did hear about Marvel Dice Throne... I'm all in!! Glad to hear you're excited about that too... I just watched your video about it. I also tried to leave a comment with a link to the two Dice Throne comic books which are available for free to read online. Have you read them? If you go to the official dice throne website and look under downloads they're both there. I bet you two would love the extra lore! I'm hoping we'll get a full graphic novel soon.
@@joelface Haha hell yea, I think I'm right there with you with an All-in. And yea I saw a notification with your comment talking about the comics, but when I tried to click on it, it was like the comment wasn't there anymore. I haven't read them but I am very interested, I didn't know about that. I'll do a search for them and check it out, I'll show Lauren as well. Good info man, always appreciate some more backstory on games.
I always play double up and triple up. It let's you see more of your deck. Worst case, you'll always break even on CP if you just sell everything you drew, you'll have the same CP as if you sold the card and didn't draw
Exactly, I love those cards that let you draw more. I didn't get much to work with in the playthrough, kind of bummed about my card draw during the game, but that's how it goes sometimes.
@@wolfrine5674 The rulebook does say whenever you defeat a minion "The Active Player receives the indicated reward. However whenever a loot chest is opened, it always has something in it for all Heroes." So that leads me to believe whoever killed the minion gets the reward. I thought we did that but I could be wrong. Is there a time or 2 in question that you could point me to? Also it's very likely we are going to miss some rules, I just do the best I can and accept things will be missed. :)
Mayday USA Chimera Premium sleeves 57.5mm x 89mm, Orange. I think they fit perfectly, no issues at all. They're not the thickest, but they do the job. Highly recommend them.
@@BrewsandBoardgames thank you. I've been looking for an alternative to the official character sleeves. The options for that size of sleeve are pretty limited
@@EM-pn5kq No problem, and yea when we started playing the game and liking it a lot, I said we definitely need sleeves. The official ones were a little too expensive for me so I did some searching and found those mayday sleeves. A lot cheaper, I dont mind not having art on the back.

So excited to play Adventures as I own both seasons. You both are so refreshing and real with your commentaries! Would this work with 3 or 4 players?

Cool but like what happens when you don’t own a table? Can this be played on walls or is this strictly for table use?
Lol well walls might be a little difficult, but you could always play on the floor. That is if you have a floor, if not, I might know a guy lol
