Thanks again for posting videos. You asked what went wrong for Pirate?
1. The first two defensive rolls, Pirate had the option of getting a Doubloon. Devin(? )seemed to have miss that option both times. However, if it was intentional, then that certainly contributed to the loss as it meant flipping two rounds early and taking that additional 8 damage
2. At one point, it looks like Devin forgot to get two combat points from a defensive roll. Those combat points might have facilitated playing/keeping cards that could have affected the outcome.
3. As mentioned already, Pyro should have taken 3 more dmg from a stacking of Powder Kegs.
4. The failure to "cool down" on Fire Mastery appears to have zero effect on the game as I don't recall that Paul triggered any abilities that were reliant on FM. I don't recall if he used any straights, Combustion, or Burning Soul. It was all Fireball and Pyroblast.
Pyro is considered one of the elite tournament choices because she averages the most damage of any hero, pre X-men. More importantly she consistently averages 10-14 dmg a around if she gets to roll defense. In addition, she has STRONG undefendable damage options, which make her very effective against Heroes who get value from defense e.g. Pirate. Of course Pirate is also a top tournament pick (for veteran players), so those two should be evenly matched.

That was a fast match. With a few forgotten rules, it was a good match. Flipping against a Pyromancer is dangerous. Uncle Paul forgot to coold down too with Pyromancer every upkeep. Hope next time DT games are livestream

If you inflict a power keg while one is active you take dmg and still have a keg active(because the 1st one blows up) so if I had one I’d risk it if I also had what status effects or buhbye to clear wither or the other keg. Otherwise not worth it :) 5:40

I just finished, I wouldn’t say anything went “wrong” CP plays a little weird. You either focus on conservation of dabloons…OR you go full aggro, try to flip on turn 1 or 2 and just go ham throwing out wither and kegs, focusing your opponent to abandon trying to beat you with the 4 dmg ticks
