I will cry if they get rid of the V8, I mean just keep it and add a supercharger on it or turbos but just keep the V8 or tune it to have more power and keep it naturally aspirated either way it will be extremely sad to see LEXUS get rid of the V8.
I can't confirm this. But I'm pretty sure I read something about the inevitable switch to twin turbo v6. But take that with a grain of salt eh.

Such a unique and epic looking car. Easily one of the best looking cars on the market. Would take this over the M4 and C63. Ton of car for the money. Perfect blend of luxury comfort and high performance. There’s just so much little details on this car. Just love it. Lexus is doing it right 💯. There’s a RC GT track model coming out and can’t wait to see how much this track model is compared to this standard car.

Ride, performance, & luxury, but unfortunately price as well. But apples for apples stay with Mercedes unless this is just your cup of tea.
Look at the Mercedes E 450 4 Matic+ Sedan with 3.0L V6 Bi-Turbo. You will have a lot more car for the bang in all categories.
After research I've concluded that the purple on the intake runners and orange on the brakes does indeed keep them cool... this is why Paul's helmet is also orange and purple 🤪

Great car, get one while you can. I have a feeling that this will be a highly sought after Lexus in the coming years. They are an absolute bargain in the CPO or used market. Way over priced new, but now that they are a few years old, it's a total buy!

From the track times, it seems this car is sitting on top of the list from the point where all the track focused and most hardcore versions of other cars have ended. Sitting just below those cars is some feat. Not to mention that this car is probably a better proposition in terms of quality, reliability, comfort, practicality and even rarity (like that v8). Great car!

People gotta stop complaining about 0 to 60 times and realize they were in a REALLY high altitude for making this test and this is not a wack twin turbocharged or supercharged with dual clutch and AWD.

ast0nv8 i have 0 complaints with the infotainment on my rc350. The only thing we use 99% of the time is playing music. How hard can it be to turn the music on? Lol

There’s a video on TH-cam of Supras Chief Engineer talking about the car. He says at the end it wasn’t about numbers but about the driving experience. It’s the same concept with this car. Not everyone is going to be caring about 0-60 times. It’s about the elegance and experience of driving this amazing car.

I love this car! Plenty of power for me on the streets of LA. Puts my head back against the seat every time I'm flooring the gas pedal at the canyon. Looks are subjective but I've had this car since it came out and still looks fantastic to me. 2 complains I have about this car. First, the outdated infotainment system. It is older than the dinosaurs! Second, the exhaust sound. It is extremely tamed with the factory exhaust system. I replaced it with a Borla catback exhaust system. It purred but now it roars! What a huge difference. Understandably, Lexus caters to the conservative buyers so they muted the V8.
I own one. Love it. Flawless mechanics. Reliable. Quiet, until you put your foot in it. AND it’s manageable. 30 MPG if I drive it like a granny on eco mode. (Less than that most the time.)

Really 5.0 isn't big these day? your average car on road I4 I6 V6 range between 1.4 , 1.6, 1.8 2.0, 2.4, 2.5, 2.8 3.0, 3.6. That's probably 90% 0f cars on road today.

5.0 - V8 is actually one of the smallest V8s .
I understand they were over enthusiastic while drive that sweet sounding powerful little V8. That's okay.

Ferrari 458 with 4.5L, V8 with 488 use 3.9L V8, BMW S65 with 4.0L V8 another BMW S63 4.4L, Ferrari California 3.9L V8, Aston Martin db11 4L V8 there are several examples of V8 with smaller than 5.0. All cars I listed all have small displayment lower than 5.0 V8 but higher out put either due to force induction or rev to 8 grand. Displayment wise 5.0 falls in middle of range.
Had lexus decided to TT or S/C that 5.0 motor it would make around 600hp mark or more. RRRACING currently has S/C stage II kit for ISF that make 768hp and 652whp that as much as NEW ZR1whp. There working on Stage III but before they are released they are working on transmission valve bodies to allow them to hold the additional pressure and power. Lexus LC500 currently use biggest out put NA 5.0L V8 at 471hp add TT It now 670 hp car. The cars company's that continue to use large displacement V8's are American companies dodge, GM and Ford and not for much longer the way things are going. No need to make 6.7L motor when you can get same hp out of 4.4L V8 TT with half weight.
I'm 54 been playing with cars for over 30yrs from old school muscle, JDM, Euro cars, new pony and muscle cars. So I've pick up few things along yrs.
I have two toys one for track another DD thats my 8yr FBO Tuned, E30 blend, port and polished TB, KWv3 suspension, plus other suspension goodies with 94k mile ISF, thats been to road course Monticello, LimeRock, New Jersey Motorsports Park, 1/4 mile tracks Atco, English town before it was closed and auto crossed and driven to work daily to NYC from Suburbs winter summer spring and fall. I've gone through 3 sets of rotors, 6 sets of pads, two ball joints only one need but changed both, one radiator and thats my fault didn't properly maintain it and numerous sets of tires that's it. 504 crank hp 434.5 whp its not fastest car in world but its reliable as hell and makes a glorious sound. So I'll keep my 5.0 its served me well overs yrs. Shit ISF just sold recently with 333 thousand miles on it by the original owner the new owner had it checked out buy Lexus the motor was fine did the usual maintenance pads rotors new fluids has since Gone full bolt on not a hiccup. There aren't too many car companies today that can build cars that can still form have to 10 years and three hundred thousand plus miles.
These cars sound sooooooo much better with exhaust!!! This one sounded a little over muffled. Cool car though!!
For a v8 it sounds awful compared to it's competition M cars and AMG. I looked into this or an M4 and ended up with a Tesla instead you just can't beat that instant electric torque 😁. The weight of this vehicle just doesn't make it nibble. This is one of the only reviews I've seen give it so many praises. Looks incredible though. I'd still like to have one one day

Really wish they didn't do these acceleration tests a mile above sea level... its great for truck tests, but not so much for cars.
That is so stupid to do these test above sea level!.....normally the car would go 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.

Yeah, V8s and manuals are being killed off left and right. Totally different class of vehicle, but it's crazy to me the new Expedition/Navigator doesn't even offer the 5.0 V8.
This is the engine Toyota should have put in the 2019 Supra. The BMW source 3.0L I6 is a disappointment.

Well, they are slowly. Especially in the more expensive products. They're getting replaced by turbo and supercharged V6 and 4 cylinder alternatives in different companies. Aston Martin has scaled down, for example. They still offer a V8 in some products, but they favor a V6 in many of their products now.

Some are comparing this to some German cars. I will too in the sense that this car won’t break like the others.
I own currently 2007 G35S(116K miles with all the almost all the original factory parts because of no issues) and 2017 GSF(7K miles). I did 0-60 on them. Guess what? G was 5.05 and GSF was 4.93. I also did 0-60 on 2018 Q60 3.0t(300hp). It was 5.25. However I believe my GSF will be better and better in the future. I also expect my GSF will be even better than my G (because Toyota > Nissan) and probably be below 4.5 when getting old...
The conclusion : This car may not look so promising when new but it will become much better when getting old...
PS: I did all 0-60 tests at the same location and similar weather/condition. I tried 0-60 two times on G, three times on GSF and 8 times on Q60 and chose the best number.

2006 mitsu evo still # 5 on the leader board, only thing that was better and around the same age was the 911 turbo.
V8 sounds so smooth and throaty. Good thing it doesn't have hair dryers attached to the motor😂
