on paper and driven by a professional driver the BMW M4 is faster around the track by a second or so but... God love my RC F! It is balls to the walls fun. No drama no turbo lag. You can be rolling 140 mph or 70 there really no difference in feel there's always a gear for you. Air filter, exhaust, and a tune and I'm over 500 HP.
If you upsize the tires for your RCF, your RCF will be as fast as M4 as RCF is about 400lbs heavier than M4 but the tire sizes of both are the same!!! However, I don't track my GSF or do anything stupid on public roads. So, those slightly smaller tires are good enough which could also reduce tire noise, increase MPG, etc.
RCF looks damn cool and sounds mean as fuck.
I love it looks cooler then the German cars. That pop up spoiler is sick and the interior just looks sweeeet. Love everything about this car. Lexus is the best Japanese luxury brand

@@mmedley9894 Lol, yeah right. I have the new 3is F sport and hit has nothing on the 335i or 435i in terms of performance and handling. I've owned a couple of BMW in line with being a "drivers" car then Lexus. Lexus has BMW on reliability and that's about it.
@@mmedley9894 Dude, I'm talking about the 3rd gen IS350. It has nothing on the 335i ans 435i in terms of handling and power. Back in the early 2000s the GS and ES were spirited drivers sure. I've driven them. But the Lexus of today are not those cars. The GS350 today have the same V6 engine as my car and it feels anemic compared to the new 435i. And the chassis and steering do NOT feel tight like that of the BMWs. You can not and should not compare today's Lexus cars to the Lexus of yesteryear. To say the IS350 is a performance car would be a joke. And yes, the IS350 was made to compete with the 3 series.

Why? It shares the same motor with slight bump of power 471hp compared to 467hp. 0-60 is identical @4.4sec

GSF=M5
The only difference is that Lexus will be more reliable.

and all of those Lexus models are slow as all hell. Although reliable.
The Lexus is a far choice for the simple reason that performance and reliability on day one is the same as in year five.

Lexus did a amazing job with RCF yes it has minor flaws against its competitors mostly that it’s not as fast in the straight line, and some ergonomics of the infotainment system is not up to par with the competitors but oh well, but what sells it for me it has a good ole 5.0liter N/A Crossplane crank V8, with an exhaust or some kinda delete with the mufflers it would have more volume for sure, also I love the bold, quirky, looks of the car aka the grille, and the rear fascia as well the seats, and it’s a Lexus so it shouldn’t beat the hell out of you for daily driving 🤷🏾♂️

Tashina Simpson it truly sucks that everyone always want to bash brands like Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, and Nissan/Infiniti heck even Mazda😤, people only think that German cars are the most prestige in regards to performance, luxury, and reliability, but anyone who knows cars knows that brands like Toyota, Honda and their premium equivalents are going to outlast the Germans cars, my philosophy for German vehicles is simple if you want one then you should just lease one and then get rid of it🤷🏾♂️
geo745don well for me I could care less if it’s a dinosaur engine, and if the technology isn’t as modern as the competitors, at least with those Lexus isn’t going to work, with proper maintenance 🤷🏾♂️😁
Great video!! As an E39 owner which is still in my garage, I purchased the RC and LOVE it! Reliability alone is worth it and there are not too many on the road! Great taste is cars!! Keep up the great work!
I used to clean a Lexus dealership at night back in 2015 & there was an RC F in the showroom that I would admire & hop inside imagining myself driving it...now I own a 2018 RC F but I'm going to upgrade to a R8 then to an Aventador

I drove the GSF and RCF. Its like your driving a beast! An awesome experience. It has so much pull and torque its not even funny! And yes Lexus is dependable and reliable!

Intake generator is why it sounds louder.A diaphragm amplifies intake suction.Similar to a cutout on the intake tube. Not fake speaker noise.

Nice to see a BMW guy making an unbiased review. As you said it isn't as fast as an M4, I think that would be a much better choie for a track. I'd rather live with one of these I think, although any car with that many exhausts maybe needs a bit more in the way of bragging rights so it could do with a bit more performance (or a big sign that says "You launch, I'll shred these tyres and listen to the V8"). As someone who drives a GS450h though, I do worry a bit that the RCF isn't actually much faster than that- the GS launches like an oil tanker but is still only half a second slower to 60. Considering fuel/tyre prices here in the UK I don't think I could justify the running costs for that (fuel here is roughly $6.10 a gallon in US terms).

I have a Lexus GSF. Those cars need headers to be able to apply a flash tune which add 60hp. So most likely with the sound that car has currently. There are no tunes or headers.

So many mixed reviews on this platform. One of which is the weight and how it compares to the C63 and M4. Both are great machines, but someone said it best.
"You don't buy a Lexus RCF because it's the best in its class. You buy it simply because you want to".
The styling definitely surpasses its "competitors". If you appreciate and respect Lexus/Toyota, legacy built, and a nasty 5.0 Japanese V8 - this is definitely the car you would want.
you should drive e55 amg w211 and compare it with your m5
Or a W210. I always felt the W211 competed with the E60 M5, especially the E63.

but first e63 amg was very complicated and had 7g-tronic which was terrible and a turbo charger
m5 e60 v10 people buy this car for reving to insane 8.3k are and this kills the car and it has the most annoying idrive system so these make the car unreliable
for me e55 amg w211 is the godfather of all those super saloons
no common issues, still looks new insane amount of torque you dont need to rev so much for earning power and it keeps engine more lively and supercharger whining sound worths everything

Aaa Zzz Well the M113 W211 E55 has an issue where the oil would mix with the coolant, and this would cause a remedy of issues. The E39 M5 was made from 1999-2003, with model years 2000-2004. This meant it primarily competed with W210 E55’s, along with the W211 E55 until 2004. The E60 came out in 2006, and that was the last year of the W211 E55, which was replaced with the E63. The W211 E55 was a competitor with the E39 for all of one year, which is why I always felt the W210 E55 was the E39’s competitor.

Tons of rcfs and gsfs on youtube with 100k+ miles and still tracking. Show me the bmw made in the last 7 years that can do the same. Not to mention the 100k fs still cost 30k+.

In terms of reliability the lexus will always win. Whats more it seems they're finally making the style more modern and less of grampas car. The only problem ive seen with some of the older ones are the styling is so aggressive that it doesn't age well. I hope this model doesnt have that problem.
it looks futuristic, I say it will look modern for the next 10/15 years.

No one complains about the dude in blue, smoking tire or redline and they show their faces mainly reviews.
I could daily my RCF in NYC...cant say the same for other competitors in this segment...especially M3/M4 due to their lighter chassis and stiffer suspension set up.
A great daily driver. But it’s too heavy to be a track car. The M and AMG’s are just more enjoyable to drive.

Au contraire, the RC-F doesn't have a "hellov a lot of torque ".. lots of horsepower sure but low on torque. That is it's fundamental flaw!

Ashish Patel , Shhh don’t say that keep it a secret. I used to own nothing but BMWs and Mercedes. Than one day a buddy of loan me his Lexus ES. Because my Mercedes had been in a shop for two weeks and prior to that one month. After I got my Mercedes clunker back I traded in for a Lexus LS. Never look back. Love every moment of it.

With the these f sports the v8 is really nice. Is sad not that many are picking them up. All they need to keep running are basic maintenance. 10yeaes/150k before anything major is needed and in most cases they last alot longer.
One of my friends has a ISF with over 165k miles with no issues.
If you want reliability buy a Toyota, a real man can turn a wrench so the occasional troubles the BMW will give you is not an issue.

more then likely he can afford a RCF, but probably doesn't make sense for him to for x amount of reasons.
If you can can afford the upkeep on a e39 M5, you're doing just fine. Not to mention they are going up in value while the Lexus is going down

First off, it doesn’t have “ a hell of a lot “ of torque at 389 lbs ft.... and nowhere near as fast as an M4 or M3 that have more torque and a lot less weight BUT I’d have the RC F over any Bring Money With. The M3-4 are far more track focused while the RC F is a more street/comfort focused where people spend 90-100% of their time.
