Nobody is arguing that MI 10 PRO isn't great phone it just should have been around 800 EUR in Europe, when it's 650 EUR in China. 999 EUR in Europe it's not "honest pricing" with 5% profit margin Xiaomi is still promising to it's customers.
@@lukasdvorok6456 you could get the hong Kong version same specs, same global support , Goole support and it's cheaper cause there's no goods tax in Hong Kong like in Europe
@@shlokshah2067 Problem with non global version phones is they do not have all the LTE bands used in the EU, and as such coherent strong signal is harder to achieve, thus the standby battery consumption simply due to radio emitter drain will be much higher. Hence battery endurance will be significantly reduced if you use a CN version in the EU (or USA as well for that matter).
MAN I know you read comment.which skin is your 1st and 2nd choice? and gcam is a big reason why people buy xiaomi phones because xiaomi phones are good for gcam so make a video about how much gcam inprovw this phone and compare it with other flagship phone because xiaomi has this issue of over exposing the highlight in the dark in normal mood but gcam can fix it.so please make a video about that.and reply to my comment
No stabilization of the selfie cam, and especially no night mode for the ultrawide are things that should not happen on a 1000 dollar phone. The Mi 10 has no zoom lens which might be a deal breaker for many.
totally agree, one of the best value for buck smartphone out there, probably just thought they could roll out android one version in non asian market, btw feels jealous to see u out there in open! anyways buddy keep up the good work, always to point and true to heart review! big fan

It will be available soon enough - there are a few places open for pre-orders for the lower spec models. You can buy the Chinese ROM version, they're cheaper but Google Pay won't work I think.

Good video 👍 Sir. Ben you have showed some beautiful shots of Hong Kong. I miss Hong Kong. Me being a Samsung guy I do think Xiaomi does a great job on their phones, I think all the Chinese brands do a great job on their phones. I wish they could sell here in the states. Great review bro. I absolutely love this phone. I have the S20 ultra but when I was using it I was missing my Mi 10 pro. Of course I had to put the S20 ultra down and put my sim back into the MI 10 pro. This device also has amazing stereo speakers and audio quality. The only things that are missing for me is expandable memory, IP 68 rating and a headphone jack

Hey, cool video, you said that miui is 3rd in your list of android ui, which are the first two? Also small question, do you know if the google smart rotate from android 9 is present on oppo or other phones? I mean that its not on/off like in xiaomi phones, but when you rotate your phone you will have a small button upon clicking on which the screen will rotate, otherwise it will stay as it was. Thanks!

Good one Ben! I think Xiaomi should have created a new brand for their premium phones. Because people will always judge them for their previous phones & prices. Personally I also think they have priced their phones on the higher side. The beginning will be hard but if this mobile proves it worth, Samsung, OnePlus will have another competitor to share their pie with.

Hi! Is there some lag when taking videos? I have watched another video, and the cars which where filmed, well there was some kind of a lag, it was weird.
That P40 series ultra wide camera is have a fantastic camera for video making. Not too wide and not too zoom.

Amazing Man. I just love your review because they are always detailed. How I wish I have as many phones like you do. Quite interesting though, Ceo of Xiaomi promised 5% profit margin years ago and now mi 10 pro i think its more than that 5%

Good video. I don’t see many Chinese phones around here, so I really enjoy learning about them in your vids.
I love Xiaomi’s camera setup. I frequently use the 2X telephoto on my S10, but only for taking close up pics of things for reminders (like what kind of food my cats like or a product i passed in a store that I may want to go back and buy later), but for me a 2X telephoto lens is pretty much useless for anything else. Having multiple telephoto lenses with dedicated purposes would be a great feature to have.
I was hoping the Nokia 9 Pureview was going to do something like that.

Hi, I don't have the China rom mi 10 pro but I have used China rom xiaomis before and google store loaded fine with no issues.

I wish these phones would work on CDMA carriers in the 🇺🇸. You can get them to work *if* you get the right tech support rep but that's like finding gold :(

I don't think it is a bad phone but at that price I would just buy an Samsung s20 plus or an One Plus 8. I am currently rocking an OP 7T bought new for 450 pounds last year in November in UK and I am mostly pleased with it. I cannot stand the fact that in a few months time when Android 11 comes around my phone is still on Android 10 for another 6 8 months. And of course even Miui is better than before it is far from pixel or one plus experience. Great review Ben as usual, stay safe

@@corsinivideos i can buy an Samsung s20 plus Snapdragon for 869 pounds on Wonda mobile. On the same website Mi 10 Pro îs 769 pounds. You make your choice. My experience with OP phones was a good one and the likehood that OP 8 will have a decent price performance ratio is very big and of course it will launch in a few days time so I think it's worth waiting for

Do you recommend to get the Mainland version or Hong Kong version? Mainland one is cheaper.
HK version is way better because it runs Global rom. China rom of phones do not have Google out of the box and have all these bloatware Chinese apps. If the price difference is huge then ok get china version Otherwise HK version is better in every way

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro cost 440$ to produce, there are multiple articles online that show that so.. 5% profit?

I suppose those $440 are parts prices only, so I would add to that an extra +25-35% additional costs, like labor, auxiliary material, marketing etc. AND if I assume the phone costs actually $550-600 to produce, add to that a 5% profit margin, voila, you have the $650 price tag in China. THEN add to that 20% for the VAT that you add to the price for selling in the EU, and you go up to $750-800 FINAL PRICE. And that, converted into EUR, would be NO MORE than 750 EUR. MAXIMUM.
So yeah, from 750 to 1000 EUR, that's clearly no 5% profit margin. That's clearly a 30% profit margin there, because Xiaomi says "europeans have money, why should we respect our PUBLICLY PROCLAIMED POLICY of never going above 5% profit margin? Let's start milking."
Totally agree. The Chinese mi 10 pro is around 700 dollars. EU version is about 1100 dollars. That just doesn't add up. Usually the global variant is around a hundred dollars more than the Chinese one. That is not the case here.
@@mohammadzein504 For the European Union countries for instance you have to add up 19% VAT (value added tax) and maybe some transport / import tax (which is not that much anyway). So from $700 you would get up to around $850-875. Tops. $1100 basically means they no longer respect their claim of 5% profit margin per phone and instead going up to 30-35%.
And I do not fault just Xiaomi for this, I fault generally all these big brands like Huawei, Samsung, Apple. They all charge at least 35% and even up to 50% profit margin per flagship phones. Especially per flagship phones. And that is bullshit IMO.
5% is net profit margin of all company's smartphone and other hardware device like tv、router ，in Mi 2019 financial statement，about smartphone's gross profit margin is 7.2%, net profit margin is less than 1%... This is a comprehensive result. The gross profit margin of high-end mobile phones is certainly high, while that of entry-level models is low. High-end models need more research and development expenses。As the previous one said, there are also VAT, transportation and tariff。 But two months after the launch ，the Retail prices will be cheaper

@@govardhanposina17 people really seem to notice a difference dude... Especially from 60 to 90hz. The jump from 90 to 120hz not so much though.
And come on man... You call higher refresh rate a gimmick and say that IP rating is the thing it lacks to become a "true flagship"? IP68 is more of a gimmick than any of the things you pointed out. Nobody dives with their phones, there's rarely an ocasion where you get your phone wet, yet even those which don't have IP68 end up fine unless you drop it in a pool or something. Still, I don't think any of those things are gimmicks, not even water resistance, but it obviously is less important than refresh rate and smaller bazels.
I've read the written review before and I would agree on the most pasrt. Just wish it had slightly better IP Rating.

While other competitors working on under display selfie camera apple are proud of their big notch and face id and again no complains no criticize and you did admit you were a slave to apple and now you're free I advise to use xiaomi and one+ flagships they won't let you down .

Despite of lacking of IP68, Gorilla 6 Glass, 120Hz display, the MI 10 Pro is absolutely a flagship. And luckily, the price in HK is quite acceptable. I place an order too, now all I need to do is waiting for it's arrival.

Not as good. Huawei battery life still better. But mi 10 pro battery life is enough to last me all day

thanks ben , your honesty is greatly appreciated .... and i've only got one addition to the discussion on price . While it is very expensive i see the price for the non pro has dropped 309$ aus on aliexpress , and may become cheaper again . Taking this into account it is becoming decent value for money . However the resale value of xiaomi over in australia is nowhere near as good as apple or samsung , and this is something that may prevent them selling so well . Prices of 5g phones in my opinion is too high right now , manufacturers saying that it's the 5g modem , however the black shark 3 proved it's not . Hopefully they will lower soon enough because again in australia it costs you more money to use the 5g network 😡 . Thanks again ben , great work
I have many Xiaomi phones from 100e to 200e I have problem when tiping with letter A...it's lag every second or third time when I touch letter A ....on all phones... is it problem on expensive Xiaomi phones??? I tipe only on G board... thank you

Mi 9 was 320€ in Germany not 6-700 bucks so you can imagine how surprised we were in Germany to see a 1000€ price tag. IPhone 11 Pro Max is 1100€...

Curved screen is an indicator that you're holding a flagship phone and not a low end/mid range phone.
Sorry but doesn’t the mi 10 standard edition have a curved display so that argument is kind of mute. Sorry but I agree with the opening statement here if you don’t like the price go pick from other phones in there range as there is a lot. People act like somehow the company owes them a favour to keep there price low but keep upping the features and the specs every year but never raise prices. In fact xiaomi actually made a statement saying that they will be raising prices.

For the $999 price, but have a bad selfie camera. I still choose the P40 Pro. Huawei have the best AI. I know SD865 is way better than KIRIN990 5G but the difference is not noticable.
