I'm not even sure of who I want as the Big Bad in the next movie...
Victor Fries would be fine, since the last time he had a really solid arc was in the *Gotham* 2-parter _"Mr Freeze" & "A Dead Man Feels No Cold"_ from 2016.
I just hope that we see a few obscure Bat-rogues getting small roles here and there, like instead of a random face-painting gang at the beginning, it could have been the False Face Society, recruiting soldiers for Black Mask.
Or that instead of the twins from "Desperate Housewives" guarding the iceberg lounge, have them be Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

      (I understand the drugstore asshole's POV, no valid script = no pills, but some diplomacy goes a long way;
Victor Fries had been picking up the same meds for his wife at the same place for years, he's obviously not some drug addict trying to scam him; just give him a few days worth of treatment while he straighten things out with his doc, it was obviously mistake)
Damn, I went on quite the rant here, didn't I...
All of this to say that if *TAS: Heart of Ice* made me feel for Victor post-accident, *Gotham* made me feel for him pre-accident, and I have to say, pre-accident he had the coolest suit of armor
Looked like a stormtrooper throwing ice grenades and using a badass ice-gun.

At the end of the movie he realised he can still strike fear in criminals but also give a sense of hope to the people. My mom isn’t too crazy about superhero movies, but she loved The Batman because of the mystery element. I said it was like a typical Batman comic put to screen. It was awesome. It felt like a proper Batman movie. Batman fights and sleuths. Because he trained himself to do both. Batman isn’t just a ninja in an animal costume, he’s a brilliant detective and a surprisingly kind and encouraging person, who wants the best for those close to him and the society he lives in. I think this is why Robert Pattinson was so attracted to the role in the first place: it's not the typical Batman origin story we're used to seeing and points out the darker aspects of being a vigilante rather than glorifying the job. Just looking at Pattinson's career post-Twilight, he's played characters that are extremely dark and twisted while also being morally conflicted and outright deviant, so him being attracted to this version of Batman isn't shocking at all. Also, I couldn't agree with you more with this being my favorite version of Batman as he is a truly broken man who fails to see the damage he's doing while trying to do some good, and the opening scene contrasted with the closing scene is what makes this film the best in my opinion. His entire view from the beginning voiceover changes by the end and he goes from seeing fear as a tool to now knowing he has to be a symbol of hope in order to make real change in Gotham.

I love this Batman movie for so many reasons!
The opening 10 minutes were great. The narration, setting up our mysterious villain with his first crime, and showing the psychological effect Batman is having on the criminals of Gotham was exactly what I've always wanted in a Batman movie.
There have been some great Selena Kyle's in Batman on TV and in movies, but this is the first one that was interesting as a character. The 1960s Catwomen were all charismatic and a joy to watch, but didn't have any character development. Michelle Pfeiffer was great as a Tim Burton character, and sexy as heck, but she didn't really portray the character that we know from the comics. Even the cartoon depictions of the character were good, but we didn't see enough of them. This is a Selena Kyle that we got to know as a person, and it was a pretty faithful interpretation.
While I expect Bruce's fighting style to improve in future movies, I do like that it's a bit sloppy and we see him take hits. Even the greatest fighter in the world is going to get slugged a few times. When somebody trains the fight, like as a boxer for example, one thing they have to train is how to fight somebody who isn't trained. A boxer will train for months before his first fight, sparring with people who are also trained how the box, but can find themselves at a real disadvantage (or at least take too many hits) the first time they step in the ring with somebody who doesn't belong there, who just windmills and acts erratic. In real life, fighting is sloppy and hectic. Think of the great fighting choreography from Daredevil, where our hero got tired, messed up moves, and misjudged his opponents.
Everything about this movie, the characters, the tech, the fighting styles, they all set up great baselines that can be improved on as the film's progress. And that makes it a great start to a Batman franchise

Off topic…I would absolutely love to see a version of The Batman Who Laughs from Battinson sometime. I think the tone fits for it and Pattinson (knowing how good of an actor he is) definitely fits for it. And for those who read that comic, I know it will kinda break the grounded version of this Batman, but it can also be done in a grounded way. Maybe there’s a drug or infection he got that makes him laugh, and he has to do detective work while fighting off the drug or infection. I know. Stupid idea there, but you get the gist. Idk tbh, but the literal idea of The Batman Who Laughs would be cool to explore later in some way.

Actually the drug/infection based laughter was in an episode of The Batman that I just watched recently and I liked the concept but being a ~20 minute episode it didn't really get time to flesh it out. Seeing that same type of thing in a movie could be very interesting and either great or terrible depending on how it's done. I really hope, as time goes on, the people that are determined to not give this movie a chance put everything they think they know about it aside and just experience this story. I’ve been a fan of Batman since I was a kid, I read a few comics here and there-watched all the tv shows and movies, but this is the first Batman I’ve seen in live action that accurately captured the core of Bruce Wayne for me. He makes mistakes, he lets his grief define him, control him. But even with all of it he still finds the strength to hope that Gotham can be better. That HE can be better.
Say what you want about different versions of the character existing, THIS is Batman to me. I have my qualms with the movie, particularly in it’s political themes i guess but everything about Batman, everything about Bruce is spot on.
Batman is and always has been my favorite superhero. The kindest superhero, in my opinion. And it just finally feels like they’re letting HIM be front and center.
that’s not to say that the other Batman films haven’t had good Bruce Waynes, but he hasn’t been the main focus of a live action film before. If you watch any other live action batman it feels, to me, like he’s a side character in his own movie. That the Bruce Wayne in that particular story was made to FIT the story-not that the story was made to fit him.
Anyway, I will stop rambling. Just know that I agree wholeheartedly and I can’t wait to see more of THIS Batman.
Oh! One more side note, I truly love that they leaned into the ‘why should you feel bad for a rich orphan’ thing. Bruce in this movie feels like he’s afraid his pain isn’t valid, feels like his pain is less than because of his wealth. The Riddler tearing Bruce down with his “That’s not being an orphan” really solidified that for me.

As much as i love Bale's Batman, i think he was amazing despite Nolan's script, not because of it.
Nolan's Trilogy take on Batman's World would be perfect, if not for one Big Mistake.
    Batman himself.
Anyone who reads Comics knows that Batman is obsessed with the mantle, he has a need for being Batman, a pathological need.
He would never stop being Batman, no matter how challenging the circumstances were.
    Batman Ego :
When he wants to stop being Batman, his mind wouldn't let him.
Batman Mask of The Phantasm :
Bruce gives up happiness to be Batman for the rest of his life.
    Batman Beyond :
Bruce is more than 60 years old, still being Batman as long his body can take it, sometimes going further than that.
    The Dark Knight Returns :
Bruce stops being Batman for 10 years, because the government forced him to ( Jason's Death as well )
But Batman couldn't be kept locked anymore, because of that, when he came back, he was more ruthless than ever before.
    Batman City of Bane :
He loses Alfred, gets broken by Bane, his Father comes back, gets the chance to get his mother back from the dead, and REFUSES all that just to be Batman.
    Because he NEEDS It.
And Nolan's Batman in The Dark Knight, is desperate to stop being Batman, just to be with Rachel.
Batman is putting HIS happiness above his concern for others.
Detail, he was Batman for barely A Year.
That's SO OUT of Batman's Character.
    Personally, that's unforgivable to me.
Nolan's Batman was considered the Best Live Action Batman because he literally had no competition, since Burton's Batman was equally out of character ( massive murderer, killing inocents, being reckless with his identity ) as Nolan's.
Pattinson's Batman on the other hand is perfect, quiet, mysterious, obsessed, detective, empathic, caring only for others, not even a bit for himself.
Everyone has their own opinion about the movie, but Pattinson's/Revees's Batman is the best live action interpretation of the character ever taken on screens.

If anything, a batman who is always growing and learning is far more accurate than a Batman who is at his prime and learned everything there is to learn. Cause he’s always trying to improve himself to be better

To be honest with you when I was watch the Batman in the theater it was a masterpiece and they get Batman perfectly right for the character and I consider it to be one my favorite DC movies because of this I love the Opening we can get to see His point of view of Gotham and I also love the monologue it's very inspiring for us to not let our hatred and self destructive thought in you but just let it be I thought Robert Pattinson's performance would be well what people thought it was but this movie prove them wrong of his performance as Batman and I notice some reviews that people criticize the film and think that the dark knight is better than The Batman or stupid arguments that does not explain they're claim but what I say here Matt Reeves The Batman is did better for than The dark knight trilogy no offense for Nolan fans.

I find it interesting how both Reeves and Nolan tackle the issue of a super billionaire beating up on poor criminals. In Nolan's, Bruce becomes a poor criminal and then uses what he learned in his utility of skills to predict their behavior, but it's never presented as a way for Bruce to empathize with them. Rather, Nolan uses his experience as just another tool and Batman kinda becomes another cop, doing whatever he need to win the day. Thus, Nolan's Bruce never really learns from the criminals he faces, because he doesn't need to anymore. But like you said, in Reeves film, Batman starts pretty judgmental and apathetic towards the criminal element due to his privilege. This Batman would definitely start the movie saying something like, "Criminals are by nature a cowardly and superstitious lot." Which is a part of Batman's character; however, it's Selina's perspective that helps him see the world a bit more through her eyes, "recognizing his privilege" if you will. Thus, causing Bruce to learn and change his approach to not only the criminals he's faces, but also his community, his city. It's interesting how each director approaches this issue, but it's even more interesting which Batman different people find themselves more geared towards, especially a specific unnamed youtube personality in the video 😂

A few years back I talked to some guy in person about Superheros and he said he didn't like Batman and the reason was that he was directing most of his attention towards poor criminals and not towards the people who create them. I hadn't ever considered this and went back to look at different Batman media and saw that this assessment was mostly true and it rang harder with how Bruce Wayne is a billionaire so literally could have the means to make a deeper difference. Yeah he traditionally donates to charities and helps orphans but didn't really take down the bigger entities aside from organized crime. One example I can think of is in Batman TAS in the Mr Freeze episode where he thinks that billionaire Ferris Boyle as a good person but finds out what he did to Mr Freeze.
So long story short Im glad that Matt Reeves addressed this with The Batman

THIS. I think so much about that scene where she says "I don't know who you are, but you're clearly rich." She shares her backstory with him and he's so taken aback and apologetic for judging her. After Riddler's speech at the end he realises how close he was to becoming someone like that, how the thing that separates them is his privilege, the lottery of being born into wealth. You really get the sense that he was forced to take a step back and re-examine his worldview.

Maybe. He obviously didn’t intentionally, but one of my only gripes with this movie is the fact that the Riddler henchmen would have died from suspension trauma as a result of hanging from their harnesses unless they were lucky enough to have been saved on time. It takes anywhere between 10-30 minutes usually for someone to die as a result.

That's what I said, and people were mad he wasn't all buff and big. Batman, to be honest, should never be ripped. He shouldn't have muscles. He is fighting and running around roof tops, all that cardio will keep you lean. I also liked that you said that they don't paint the batman job in a light. It's true, the reality is that the Batman would see stuff that most people don't see. He would be one fucked up dude

Some things bother me. Batman would not leave Gordon there in middle of shootout. Batman would enter through the front door of the Iceberg like that. He would also not have those two dudes unload on him because he had armor. He also wouldn’t play emo Edward while his Bruce Wayne persona was out in the open. He wants to deflect on the thought that he could be Batman.

    • @anotherpawn

It’s early days, now he’s fully developed into the Batman we’ll probably get him putting on Bruce Wayne persona now. I imagine as well as realising he was going about been Batman the wrong way, he can also use his Bruce Wayne side to do good. And before he has that revelation at the end he’s very reckless
And it’s early days with his relationship with Gordon too so he’s not going to get everything right
