That was just beautiful, pure and simple. I'm so glad l found your channel Randy. I've been looking for a quality tone wood acoustic for a while. I have an Ovation custom balladeer which l've had since '81 and l do love it but it does have that Ovation sound doesn't it? I was a London pro guitarist and techs always miked it as it sounded so much better than going the electric route. I've been watching your reviews of the IBG acoustics and have been really impressed, they punch way above their weight don't they? But when l heard the Excellente l decided that l really wanted one and started ringing around and searching online in the UK. No ones got one in the whole of the UK although you can pre order but...... Gibson/Epiphone in their infinite wisdom won't or can't tell any of their UK stockists when they will arrive even if they've ordered three or four due to the demand over here. I wasn't prepared to leave a deposit without any idea when I'd get my guitar. Two of the largest and most well know shops over here said it could be six weeks or six months! Now l love J45's and I did find a IBG custom 1942 Banner vintage VOS sunburst J45 and so l went back to your reviews and after hearing you play it (beautifully l might add) and a couple of others it'll be arriving on Monday! Cheers Randy, l just love your channel and your beautiful considered playing. Look forward to hearing you play a lot more.
Hi Andy, what a kind thing to say about finding the channel, especially with your background. I have been to London several times in the past 10 years. Did I mention that I hate Heathrow Airport 😂? The 45 Banner is made in the Qingdau, China plant, which is where Epiphone have moved their factory from Indonesia. My understanding is that this is where all of the IBGs will be manufactured now. I’ll be interested to get your opinion on the build quality and sound. I’ll take a look in a moment and see if you have an active channel. Hi Randy, well the IBG Epiphone Banner J45 arrived two and a half hours ago and l've only just put it down! You are right about the quality of these instruments. The finish, the construction is just so good. If it had Gibson on the headstock and it was made in the States you'd have to add $2000 on the price l'm sure. l love the clean precise highs with a bit of thud in the middle and enough bottom end. The harmonic overtones on mine are just fabulous which is a joy to listen too especially as it has such a beautiful amount of sustain. Easy to play too although the neck is a bit wider than my Ovation but l'm sure l'll get used to it. After all l play a '50's Les Paul and the neck on that is like an oak tree! I'm really looking forward to hearing how this little beauty opens out in the future. If it gets any better it'll be sensational. Hope you're having a great weekend. Cheers man! Is this because you don't like the tone, the way they're set up or future neck set problems? Or like Mercedes or BMW men you're a Gibson Guy. I'd be very interested in your thoughts.

Hey Randy, I purchased the Inspired by Gibson Hummingbird just the other day, it was unfortunately the china made version and the finish on it was terrible, I’m going through the replacement process now but man it was horrendous. There were undersprayed areas around the bridge and the finish looked so thin and nonexistent, I’m going to try requesting an indonesian version, otherwise it’s a no go for me, I’ve got the indonesian J-45 and it’s leagues better. I might just stick to the one if the next replacement is still bad
