- In this video, I look at Appeal Decisions that follow the letter of the law. It doesn’t matter how tiny your wall or roof is. If it exists, it is subject to the planning laws. Consequently, Planning Inspectors have no leeway to ignore minor infringements of planning laws.

there must be a point when common sense prevails over PD or planning rules, surely what neighbours say and what is aesthetic and improvement should be considered
PD is fairly prescriptive to allow householders to get on with boilerplate extensions. Planning decisions follow a mix of rules and guidelines. Planning Inspectors follow the law. Common sense is sometimes used to achieve an equitable result.
